Welcome to your hub for C3G FAQs! Anything that might be confusing you about the general system of C3G should be found here, along with a compilation of FAQs related to individual units and powers.
General Question FAQ Q: Can C3G be used with Classic Heroscape?
A: Yes, but it is not recommended. There are some figures and powers that, in our opinion do not mix well. One example of this is the Death Knights of Valkrill's Relentless Bonding. The ability to bond with Wolverine, for example, is something that C3G doesn't suggest doing, but this is a game and you can play it how you see fit.
Q: Is C3G compatible with the red and blue attack and defense dice from the first edition Rise of the Valkyrie Master Set?
A: Many C3G figures reference the number of blanks rolled on combat dice. These powers are designed to be played with the white combat dice found in the second edition of Rise of the Valkyrie Master set, Swarm of the Marro Master Set, Marvel Heroscape Master Set and Dungeons and Dragons Master Set and are fully compatible only with this set of combat dice. When using different dice, house rules are necessary to ensure full compatibility.
Q: Why are there two names on the cards?
A: C3G uses Secret Identities that function as a figure's "real" name, thus allowing you to field more than one Unique figure with the same name but a different Secret Identity. For example, Batman (Bruce Wayne) and Batman (Terry McGinnis) can be used in the same army, but Robin (Dick Grayson) and Nightwing (Dick Grayson) cannot. For details, look here.
Q: What are the symbols at the bottom of the card?
A: Along with the Super Strength Symbol from the Official Superscape cards, C3G has created a Flying Symbol. The reason for this is that in the world of comic books there are many characters that have the power of flight, and the use of the symbol frees up space on the card for other power text.
Q: Are Castle Wall pieces considered terrain or obstacles?
A: Castle Wall pieces are terrain. They're just a terrain tile that's very tall and they're modular in a way obstacles aren't. Terrain is what you use to build a map, obstacles are things you place on a map. The distinction can be boiled down to whether or not you can place other tiles on top of an object officially, if so then it is terrain, if not it is an obstacle.
Q: Do the Hasbro Superscape figures follow C3G's Secret Identity rules? For example, is Hasbro's Spider-Man's name considered to be simply "Spider-Man"?
A: When using the Hasbro Superscape figures in C3G, the Hasbro figures are considered to have their thematic Secret Identities, as follows:
Abomination is considered to have a Secret Identity of Emil Blonsky
Q: Some heroes have powers that say they can't lose equipment glyphs by any means other than being destroyed. Does that mean Shadow Thief (or other glyph stealers) can't steal them?
This may be obvious to some, but is he actually "losing" the ring if Shadow Thief takes it?
A: The term "lose" as you have probably already assumed is a keyword used in our rules for Equipment glyphs. That term in the proper context as it is found on certain heroes' cards holds just as much power as any other official term like "move", "attack", "target", etc.
In short, Shadow Thief can take a Makluan Ring glyph away from Mandarin (for example) because Mandarin wouldn't technically be "losing" the glyph. To "lose" a glyph, per the C3G rules, is to be wounded or destroyed. That also means that Mandarin could "drop" one if he chose to.
Q: If you move onto an Equipment Glyph, does your movement stop?
A: Yes. Unless stated otherwise on their cards or in the C3G Equipment Glyph rules, C3G Equipment Glyphs follow the same rules as Hasbro's Permanent Glyphs.
Q: Can a figure pick up an Equipment Glyph when it is moved/placed during another figure's turn?
A: Yes. A criterion to pick up an Equipment Glyph is that the figure must be on the space with the Equipment Glyph. How the figure gets there is irrelevant. However, if a special power requires that a figure be placed on an "empty space," the figure may not be placed on a space with a glyph.
Q: How is an Event Hero different from a Unique Hero?
A: Event Heroes and Unique Heroes are similar in that when selecting cards to put in your Army, you cannot select two of the same Event Army Card. However, Event Heroes do not count as Unique Heroes for the purposes of special powers, and come with a few special rules:
1) Event Heroes are never destroyed without first taking enough wounds to be destroyed. If a terrain rule or a special power on any Army Card, Glyph, or Destructible Object would automatically destroy an Event Hero, that terrain rule or special power instead inflicts 4 wounds on that Event Hero.
2) Players may never take temporary or permanent control of an opponent's Event Hero.
Q: Are C3G's Knockback rules compatible with the red and blue attack and defense dice from the first edition Rise of the Valkyrie Master Set?
A: The C3G Knockback Optional Rule Set was designed to be played with the white combat dice found in the second edition of Rise of the Valkyrie Master set, Swarm of the Marro Master Set, Marvel Heroscape Master Set and Dungeons and Dragons Master Set and is fully compatible only with this set of combat dice. When using different dice, house rules are necessary to ensure full compatibility.
Q: If any figure with Deadly Shot/Strike and SuperStrength roll 2 attack dice and roll two skulls for an adjacent attack, how many Knockback points do they receive, 2 or 4?
A: 2. Knockback points are determined by each skull rolled, not each hit counted.
Q: Where do I place my figure if it has been moved by Knockback and falls over a cliff but its movement would end on a space that is occupied by a figure, destructible object, obstacle, etc.?
A: You cannot move a figure onto an occupied space with these Knockback rules. So whether there's a tree or another figure down at the bottom of that cliff, you couldn't move the figure there and you'd have to stop and roll for Knockback damage since you couldn't move the figure.
Q: Who moves a figure that is knocked back? It doesn't say who specifically moves the figure.
A: Unless otherwise stated, the only player that can ever move a figure, is the player that controls that figure.
Q: I was reading the Destroying Vehicles section and I realized that if my Event Hero is occupying a vehicle when it is destroyed, and for whatever reason my Event Hero cannot occupy a legal space that the destroyed vehicle previously occupied, my Event Hero is supposed to be destroyed, but Event Hero rules state that "Event Heroes are never destroyed without first taking enough wound to be destroyed. If a terrain rule or a special power on any Army Card, Glyph, or Destructible Object would automatically destroy an Event Hero, that terrain rule or special power instead inflicts 4 wounds on that Event Hero." What should I do in this situation?
A: This sounds weird I know, but give your Event Hero the 4 wounds as the Event Hero rules suggest, then finish playing the game, remembering that when a player has no figures on the battlefield, that player loses. So maybe the rest of your Army can win you the game, but your Event Hero is gone for good unless you have a special power or some way to bring him back.
And the same applies to figures like Molly Hayes and Hercules. You just apply the wounds to them as their powers suggest, and if they are not destroyed and they still cannot be placed on the battlefield, they are simply lost and you continue playing the game until it is over.
Q: The Vehicle Rules state that figures that occupy vehicles are no longer on the battlefield. Does that mean that the last figure in an Army can't use vehicles? After all, a player loses if he doesn't have any figures remaining on the battlefield.
A: Under the Occupying Vehicles section, the rules state that "you now control that vehicle". This is VERY important to remember as you play the game with special powers that reference opponent's figures (DOs are treated as figures in C3G) and also when designing powers. This section also answers your question, because even though your last figure got into a car, the car is now your DO/figure. So the game is not over.
Q: Can I destroy someone else's adjacent Beat Cop to save my own figure from some wounds?
A: No, you can only use Protect and Serve with Beat Cops you control.
Q: When a figure with a special power that triggers on a figure's wound or destruction, such as Carnage, attacks an opponent's figure next to his 5th Precinct Beat Cop, and the opponent destroys the Cop, does this trigger their special power?
A: No. The 5th Precinct Beat Cops' card instructs the player of the defending figure to "destroy" the Cop, not the attacking player. Since the attacker technically is not the one destroying the figure, so a power that involves destroying or wounding a figure wouldn't trigger. This precedent was established in Classic Heroscape with the Horned Skull Brutes.
Q: In Power Absorb, it tells you to remove Absorption Markers when Absorbing Man takes wounds. Do you remove those markers in addition to placing wounds, or instead of placing wounds?
A: In addition. For example, if Absorbing Man was receiving 3 wound from an attack, you place 3 wound markers on his card and then remove 3 Absorption Markers (or if you have less than that, you remove as many as you can).
Q: When a figure like Gentlemen Ghost has a Suicide Marker on its card and is destroyed when the X Order Marker is revealed on Waller's card, which player controls the card going forward?[*]A: The order of events is first the switching of sides, followed by Waller revealing the X to destroy the figure, thus the Gentleman Ghost card is still handed over to the opponent before the figure is removed from play.
Q: When exactly does Guardian Angel trigger? Is it immediately after defense dice are rolled and before damage is dealt? Or is it after wounds have been determined and placed on the cards?
A: Guardian Angel triggers after damage has been dealt. Guardian Angel is essentially a "Scatter" ability that allows Angel to carry during his movement.
Q: Can Archangel use Razor Wing Slash after moving during another figure's turn? For example: Cyclops reveals an order marker and he uses Mutant Field Commander to move Archangel.
A: Yes. Archangel may use Razor Wing Slash any time he can use his Flying special power.
Q: Can Harley Quinn bond with the Arkham Inmates using Insane Devotion though it specifies "after taking a turn with that figure"?
A: Yes. You treat the squad as a single figure. After taking a turn with the Arkham Inmates squad, you can bond with Harley Quinn one time after all of the squad members have ended their collective turn.
Q: Reverse Engineering 16 states you can choose a glyph, but it further states a figure might be equipped with the chosen glyph. Can you select a glyph equipped by a figure within 3 spaces (on that figure's card), or must the chosen glyph be on the battlefield?
A: C3G's Equipment Glyph Rules state that glyphs with an area effect are considered to occupy the equipped figure's position. So you could choose either a glyph within 3 spaces on the actual battlefield or a glyph equipped by a figure on a figure occupying a space within 3 spaces. Non-Equipment Glyphs placed on Army Cards are not treated similarly, so, for instance, a Temporal Displacement Glyph on Kang's card would not be affected.
Q: Can the Burn Damage from Azrael's Flaming Blades cause additional damage to a figure that has a power that prevents more than 1 wound per attack, such as Magical Defense or Impenetrable Skin?
A: Yes. With each roll of the dice is a new chance for damage.
Q: If an Android is on a water space and attacked by Baron von Strucker's Satan's Claw Special Attack, does the player controlling that Android subtract 2 shields when defending against that attack?
A: Yes. After the player controlling the Android figure rolls defense dice against that attack, subtract 2 shields from the total number of shields, including any that are counted from special powers, such as Tough. Note that while this is extra effective against Android figures with Tough special power, Android figures with Shields of Valor type defensive powers still double any shield rolled and then subtract 2 from the total.
Q: Can Baron Zemo reveal an "X" Order Marker on his card and count that for the skull rolled to trigger another attack when using Master Swordplay?
A: No, since a skull added is different than a skull rolled.
Q: Can Baron Zemo use Master of Deception and allow a destroyed figure to reveal an Order Marker so that the lost turn can be used for another figure?
A: No. Page 13 of Master Set 3 BftU states "When all figures on an Army Card have been destroyed, the Army Card is out of play. Do not reveal any unrevealed order markers that are on that card for that round of play."
Q: Exactly how does Master Swordplay work with multiple adjacent opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to Baron Zemo?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Baron Zemo (with 4 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, he would be able to use Master Swordplay for a maximum of 5 attacks (using 5,4,3,2,1 dice), regardless of who he attacked after the first attack. This is assuming that he rolled at least 1 skull on each previous attack.
Q: Can Batgirl use Shadow of the Bat even though another figure is going to take a turn after that Vigilante? For example, Batman reveals an Order Marker and Robin wants to use Vigilante Sidekick, can Batgirl still use Shadow the Bat?
A: Yes. Shadow of the Bat activates after the Vigilante moves, so the Vigilante's turn isn't over yet. The Vigilante could still attack after that. Robin's turn doesn't come in until after the Vigilante's full turn is over.
Batman starts the game with one or more Utility Glyphs, which follow Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Can Batman carry an Equipment Glyph in addition to (or in place of 1) Utility Equipment Glyph?
A: No. Batman can either equip: Up to 3 Utility Equipment Glyphs OR 1 normal Equipment Glyph. In order to pick up a single normal Equipment Glyph he must first drop all Utility Equipment Glyphs.
Batman starts the game with one or more Utility Glyphs, which follow Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Can Batman carry an Equipment Glyph in addition to (or in place of 1) Utility Equipment Glyph?
A: No. Batman can either equip: Up to 2 Utility Equipment Glyphs OR 1 normal Equipment Glyph. In order to pick up a single normal Equipment Glyph he must first drop all Utility Equipment Glyphs.
Q: Does Strategic Discipline prevent Order Markers from being moved even after Batman is destroyed?
A: Yes, up to the remainder of the round. This power uses similar wording to other powers that state "remainder of the game" which continue for the remainder of the game even after that figure is destroyed.
Q: Can the player controlling Batman choose to not use Strategic Discipline?
A: No, this power is mandatory and will prevent the movement of Order Markers both for the benefit of the player and to his detriment.
Q: If Beast Boy (T-Rex) sustains 1 wound from a previous attack and later is destroyed (activating Beast Forms from Beast Boy), should the first wound be removed from this card?
A: No. The Beast Forms special power on the Metahuman Beast Boy's card only states that if any other Gar Logan figure should be destroyed you place 2 wounds on the Metahuman's card and replace the figure with another Gar Logan figure. This card would still have the first initial wound marker on it.
Q: Can Black Adam use Courage of Mehen to counter powers that are defensive in nature, such as Batman's Evasive Strike?
A: No. The key words for Courage of Mehen are "If an opponent chooses Black Adam". Courage of Mehen can only be used to alter the 20-sided die from a power that must specifically choose Black Adam as the target.
Canary Cry Special Attack: In Canary Cry Special Attack, figures are considered to be adjacent to a chosen space if they are within one space of the chosen space, regardless of the difference in elevation.
Cupid's Arrow: Only one Green Arrow you control may make an attack with this special power.
Space - horizontal locations on the battlefield that figures can occupy
When you would move with a flying figure, you count each space as you go while ignoring elevations. When Black Cat climbs, you count each space as you go basically ignoring up to 2 levels. So Black Cat moves just one space from level 0 to a level 2 hill and only used 1 movement. She could also move one space from level 0 to a level 4 hill and only use 2 movement.
Q: Black Cat counts ladder rungs 2 for 1 since they are elevation changes?
A: No, 1 ladder rung equals 2 elevations, so the bonus of the ladder is doing the same thing as the Climb ability, therefore only one is used at a time, your choice (you can look up the official ruling for Climb x2 and how it does not work on ladders if you need to).
Q: If Black Knight rolls excess shields when defending from a combined special attack by a squad, would each figure that participated in the attack take damage from Absorb and Return?
A: No. Multiple figures that have a special attack to combine their attack can circumvent Black Knight's Absorb and Return.
Q: If Black Knight is not targeted for a special attack but still must roll defense dice can he use Absorb and Return? An example might be Cyclops' Optic Blast Special Attack that does not target any figure, but instead targets spaces.
A: Yes. The only requirements for Absorb and Return is that Black Knight must roll excess shields when rolling defense dice against a special attack.
Q: If a Criminal figure used a special attack while adjacent to Black Mask, would it receive one wound from Black Mask, whether that special attack inflicted wounds on the opponent or not?
A: Special Attacks are exempt from this power. If lets say a Criminal Sandman uses a special attack while adjacent to Black Mask, he cannot receive a +1 to his attack because Special Attacks are never Modified by other special powers, per the official Game Rules.
If Sandman were to fail to inflict a wound with that special attack, he would not receive any wounds from Black Mask because he did not use a normal attack.
Q: Can Black Tarantula reveal the X Order Marker to heal another figure when he is allowed to move during another figure's turn? For example: Martian Manhunter using Telepathic Directive.
A: No. The official ruling is that "before moving" powers have to take place directly before the Movement phase of that figure's turn.
Q: What happens when Black Widow uses Widow's Bite on a figure that has a defensive power that will limit the amount of wounds that figure would receive, such as Magical Defense?
A: The limit in the wounds will only apply to the result from the dice rolled. Widow's Bite is a bonus wound that may apply after wounds from dice rolling have been reduced. If Black Widow is able to do at least 1 wound to the target, then that figure will also take an additional wound from Widow's Bite.
Q: Blob's special power of Immovable states he cannot be moved by any special power on an army card, but does not specify glyphs. Can Blob be moved by a glyph, such as the Glyph of Makluan Electromagnetic Rings?
A: Yes. Blob is not immune to glyphs that have movement powers. The same is true for figures affected by Blob's Stuck special power.
Q: Can Blob choose to not use the Stuck special power? For example for Blob to use Knockback to push the opponent into a more dangerous position.
A: Yes. Since this special power does not specifically state that it "must" be used then Blob has the choice to activate it or to not activate it.
Blob, Knockback, and Other Placement Powers:
Throwing or placement powers that say to "place" a figure, means one thing and also implies one thing:
Place = Move (according to official FAQs)
Place implies that the figure was first removed. So, if a figure cannot be removed/moved because of Blob's Stuck special power, it cannot be thrown or displaced by special powers either.
Other figures cannot move Blob using Knockback because Knockback is an optional part of the Super Strength special power and Blob's Immovable power does not allow him to be moved by "any special power on any Army Card."
Blob can move other figures using his own Super Strength and Knockback. Stuck is an optional special power, so Blob may choose to "let go" of adjacent, opposing figures and allow them to be moved.
If a figure is Stuck to Blob, it may still take Knockback Damage, since Blob has Super Strength and his Stuck special power is preventing the defending figure from being moved.
Brainiac starts the game with a Glyph of Shrinking Ray Gun, which follows Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Can I use Brainiac's 12th Level Intellect special power to alter the results of a special attack, leaving engagement attack, or any other special power that rolls attack dice?
A: Per the official rules, special attacks cannot be modified by other special powers, including this one. However, 12th level intellect can absolutely be used to alter the results of any normal attack, leaving engagement attack or special power. Just remember that special attacks cannot be modified by any other special power, including this one.
Q: What happens to the figures placed on this card?
A: The collected figures are not necessarily out of the game and they are not destroyed. They are just extremely difficult to get back. If there was a figure that could bring itself back into the game, or some type of summoning power on another card that might be able to bring back other collected figures, the collected figures may be able to come back. While on Brainiacs' card due to Miniaturized Collection that figure is still part the controlling player's army but not currently under that player's control. Therefore any special power that refers to the figure in the bottle as a figure "you control" cannot activate. On the same note no power that requires clear sight or a limited distance of the figure can activate as that figure is not on the battlefield. Order Markers can still be placed and revealed on these figures however.
Q: When Brainiac 13 uses Artificial Intelligence 13 on a common Android or Cyborg Hero to take control of the corresponding Army Card, does that player take control of all the common Android or Cyborg Heroes in play that match the Army Card?
A: Yes, because common figures only have one Army Card per player.
Q: Can Captain America gain the bonus from Avengers Assemble?
A: No. The power stipulates that only figures you control "within clear sight of Captain America" will receive any bonus. As figures cannot be in clear sight of themselves, Captain America can not gain any bonus from Avengers Assemble.
Q: Suppose Captain Boomerang attacks Spider-Man with his Razor Boomerang Special Attack, and Spider-Man avoids it with Spidey-Senses 9 and moves away to a position up to 2 spaces from his original position. Could you choose Spider-Man as one of the 3 figures, even though he was the defender in the attack?
A: Yes. When you choose the 3 figures, remember to select the figures based on the defending figure's original placement, and not based on the current position of the defender. So the defender can be one of the figures, provided he remains within 2 spaces of his original placement. You may even select the defending figure if it doesn’t move.
Q: Do you Check for Unsteady Confidence before or after affects like Black Cat's Bad Luck Aura, or Scarlet Witch's Hex-Sphere Disturbance 5, or Brainiac's 12th Level Intellect?
A: After. Those powers modify the results of the roll. Unsteady Confidence triggers after these effects resolve, and checks against the final result.
Q: Can Captain Marvel use his special powers of Wisdom of Solomon and Stamina of Atlas if he is not on the battlefield because he was switched with Billy Batson?
A: Yes, as long as Captain Marvel has not been destroyed then his card is still in play and his powers may be used.
Q: When Carnage attacks an opponent's figure next to his 5th Precinct Beat Cop, and the opponent destroys the Cop, does this trigger Carnage's Kill Crazy?
A: No. The 5th Precinct Beat Cops' card instructs the player of the defending figure to "destroy" the Cop, not the attacking player. Since the attacker technically is not the one destroying the figure, Carnage does not get the benefit of Kill Crazy. This precedent was established in Classic Heroscape with the Horned Skull Brutes.
Space - horizontal locations on the battlefield that figures can occupy
When you would move with a flying figure, you count each space as you go while ignoring elevations. When Catwoman climbs, you count each space as you go basically ignoring up to 2 levels. So Catwoman moves just one space from level 0 to a level 2 hill and only used 1 movement. She could also move one space from level 0 to a level 4 hill and only use 2 movement.
Q: Catwoman counts ladder rungs 2 for 1 since they are elevation changes?
A: No, 1 ladder rung equals 2 elevations, so the bonus of the ladder is doing the same thing as the Climb ability, therefore only one is used at a time, your choice (you can look up the official ruling for Climb x2 and how it does not work on ladders if you need to).
Q: Would Cameleon be affected by powers that do not specifically target him or choose his figure?
A: Yes. Any power or attack that does not specifically target him could affect him. This includes Mr. Fantastic's Rubber Wrap or Firestar's Microwave Beam Special Attack.
Q: Would Chameleon be considered a friendly figure to an opponent if he chooses to Impersonate a figure from that opponents army?
A: No, he is still an enemy figure. This means that if Chameleon is adjacent to an opponent's figure, that figure cannot attack Chameleon (due to the power of Impersonate) nor could that figure use a ranged attack to attack another figure. Furthermore if that figure leaves engagement from Chameleon, that figure would receive a Leaving Engagement Attack and possibly activate Chameleon's Special Power of Framed!
Chronos cannot use his Time Bandit power if he is the last figure you control on the battlefield. If Chronos is on his Army Card and the only other figure on you control on the battlefield is destroyed, you are defeated.
Chronos can only place the markers on spaces he "previously" occupied, not currently.
When a figure Flies, it is moving over a space, and therefore not really "occupying" it. However, the official FAQ from Heroscape is that a figure with the Flying or Stealth Flying special power may fly for part of its move and walk for the other part, and switch between the two at any time.
Q: In a multi-player game if Player A's Cloak places Player B's last figure on this card while Player C still has figures on the battlefield, has Player B "lost"? Can he still place Order Markers on that figure's card if it was not destroyed at the end of the previous round, or does he need to wait until his figure comes back?
A: Player B must wait until his figure is free from the Dimension of Darkness before placing any Order Markers on that card. If all of Player A's opponents are taken down before Player B's figure is freed, Player B loses as well.
Q: If Aura of Darkness is being applied to my own Kang or any other figure with a power that is similar to Time Warp in that it allows the affected figure to "only" take leaving engagement attacks from a specific figure, who can give my Kang a leaving engagement attack?
A: No one. The two powers are meant to overlap so that all figures are excluded from being able to give your Kang a leaving engagement strike.
Q: If Colossus uses Fastball Special to place a figure within range of a figure who has a defensive special power, does that special power activate? For example, War Machine and his Auto Chain Gun special power?
A: Yes, it has been ruled that "Placing" and "Moving" a figure are the same.
Q: What happens when Conan is attacked by a figure like Black Widow and she wants to use Widow's Bite on him? Does the defensive power Battle Hardened still limit the amount of wounds Conan would receive to one?
A: The limit in the wounds will only apply to the result from the dice rolled. Widow's Bite, and other powers like it, is a bonus wound that may apply after wounds from dice rolling have been reduced. If Black Widow is able to do at least 1 wound to Conan, then Conan will also take an additional wound from Widow's Bite.
Q: When subtracting from Cyborgs Attack when using Charged Sonic Cannon Special Attack does Cyborg subtract for every space moved or every movement point used to move? For example if Cyborg only moved one space but it was up 3 elevations. This would cause him to use 4 movement points but he really only moved 1 space.
A: According to the rules in Heroscape Master Set 3 pg 8: "Moving up: When you move to a higher level, count the side of each higher level as one space, as well as the space you land on." Therefore each space moved and each elevation that Cyborg moves up will cause him to roll 1 fewer Attack die when using Charged Sonic Cannon Special Attack.
Q: Which occurs first, rolling for Lava Field Damage at the end of the round, or Healing Factor X at the end of the round? A: Lava Field Damage is treated like a special power from another player. Roll the 20-sided die for Healing Factor X and Lava Field Damage (and any other players' powers that occur at the end of the round) to see which comes first.
Q: How does Doctor Doom's Mystic Power Drain interact with powers that take place "at the start of the game?"
A: If a special power's text references "the start of the game," then even if Doctor Doom uses Mystic Power Drain to steal that power, he cannot use those "start of the game" effects. Example: Green Power Battery.
Q: Can a figure affected by Blinding Light use a special power that requires clear sight on a figure adjacent to it?
A: No. Blinding Light completely prevents figures from using special powers that require clear sight, regardless of where the figure is. They can still attack adjacent figures though, because that does not require clear sight.
Space - horizontal locations on the battlefield that figures can occupy
When you would move with a flying figure, you count each space as you go while ignoring elevations. When Doctor Octopus climbs, you count each space as you go basically ignoring up to 2 levels. So Doctor Octopus moves just one space from level 0 to a level 2 hill and only used 1 movement. He could also move one space from level 0 to a level 4 hill and only use 2 movement.
Q: Can Doctor Octopus counts ladder rungs 2 for 1 since they are elevation changes?
A: No, 1 ladder rung equals 2 elevations, so the bonus of the ladder is doing the same thing as the Climb ability, therefore only one is used at a time, your choice (you can look up the official ruling for Climb x2 and how it does not work on ladders if you need to).
Q: How do I use Evolutionary Regeneration correctly? A: Here's a step-by-step answer:
You can heal a wound by not moving or attacking with Doomsday during your turn.
When Doomsday is destroyed, the next time you take any turn, be sure that there are exactly 6 Wound Markers on Doomsday's card.
Unlike all other Army Cards, you may still reveal Order Markers on Doomsday's card while he is destroyed.
Remember that each time you reveal an Order Marker (even the X Marker through a special power) but don't move or attack you get to heal Doomsday of a wound.
When the last Wound Marker is removed from the card, Doomsday gets to come back onto the battlefield adjacent to one figure you control.
Q: Could you use the Green Power Shield or Yellow Power Shield special powers to avoid taking a wound from Elektra's Deadly Barrage Special Attack?
A: NO. Because Deadly Barrage doesn't allow defense dice to be rolled, and both powers are only activated instead of rolling defense dice normally. If you're not in a situation where you could roll defense dice normally, you can't choose to do a power that activates instead of rolling defense dice normally like Green Power Shield or Yellow Power Shield.
Q: If Enchantress Soul Swaps a figure with multiple attacks or that has a power that says "after attacking" during its turn, can that figure continue its turn after being Soul Swapped?
A: No. You no longer control the figure once its Soul Swapped, therefore its turn is immediately ended.
Q: If Enchantress has Soul Swapped a figure with an opponent's figure and Enchantress is destroyed, when you swap the figures back, do you remove the OMs from their cards just like when they are initially swapped?
A: When figures are returned, yes, they follow the same swapping procedure.
Q: Exactly how does Swordplay work with multiple adjacent opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to Fandral?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Fandral (with 5 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, he would be able to use Swordplay for a maximum of 6 attacks (using 6,5,4,3,2,1 dice), regardless of who he attacked after the first attack. This is assuming that he rolled at least 1 skull on each previous attack.
A: A figure with Height 1 may not move up any levels of elevation with its normal move, and any time it moves down levels of elevation with its normal move it must roll for falling damage. A figure with Height 1 and Range Number of 1 cannot attack figures that have height advantage and cannot be attacked by figures that have a Range number of 1 and height advantage.
Q: When Sunfire uses Raining Fire, can he choose any or all figures he passed over (without the Lava Resistant special power), or does he have to roll for all figures he passed over?
A: He must roll against all figures (without the Lava Resistant special power) that he passed over.
Q: How does Undead Resilience interact with powers like Hogun's Bludgeoning Strike and Black Widow's Widow's Bite? Are the additional wounds added before or after you use Undead Resilience?
A: The additional wounds are applied before Undead Resilience. For example, if Black Widow was to inflict 2 wounds on Frankenstein with her attack and then place the additional wound with Widow's Bite, as long as those wounds don't kill Frankenstein, he could then use Undead Resilience to remove 2 of those wounds, taking a total of 1 wound. Similarly, if Black Widow was to inflict only 1 wound with her attack, placing the additional wound would allow Undead Resilience to trigger and therefore she would do no damage with the attack.
Q: If the last figure I control is switched on the battlefield for an Ice Rock, do I automatically lose?
A: No, your figure is still considered on the battlefield for the sake of victory conditions as long as it is undestroyed on the Frost Giant's card.
Q: If a player's only figure is one on Frost Giant's card but the Ice Rock has been removed from the game (without being destroyed), does this result in a stalemate?
A: No. The Frost Giant's Frost Bite special power still continues & and will eventually kill the figure on the Frost Giant's card and therefore the opposing player will eventually win.
Q: Are there any limits on the size or type of terrain that can be chosen for the Devourer of Worlds special power?
A: As specified in the Devourer of Worlds special power, you may choose terrain pieces, glyphs, destructible objects, or obstacles that are unoccupied by figures regardless of size. If you choose terrain pieces, they can be of any type.
Q: What impact does Galactus' base have on placement and engagement rules?
A: When placing Galactus with Herald of Galactus, all 4 spaces of the 2 double spaced bases must be on the same level. It is possible for Galactus to have his feet on either side of terrain that is either higher or lower level than that which his bases are on, as long as the bases are on the same level.
Figures that can fit on and move through the spaces between his feet are allowed to do so.
Figures on the eight spaces surrounding each foot (15 spaces in total) can be considered engaged with Galactus as per official engagement rules.
Q: Can I turn Galactus for free at any point during my turn, like with a double based figure?
A: No, Galactus cannot be turned without Movement, due to the unique nature of his base, and he can only be moved with the Herald of Galactus special power.
Q: If a destructible object is removed with Devourer of Worlds, does it trigger abilities such as the Evergreen Tree's Falling Tree? What happens to figures inside vehicle destructible objects and figures frozen by the Frost Giant when the Ice Rock is removed?
A: Devourer of Worlds uses the term remove instead of destroy, so destructible objects removed with this ability aren't technically destroyed. Therefore, any ability that activates when a destructible object is destroyed would not be triggered by Devourer of Worlds. Figures on a vehicle's Army Card would not be able to return to the game, and figures placed on the Frost Giant's Army Card with Freezing Touch 14 would not have a way to return to the battlefield. The Ice Rock removed would not return to that Frost Giant's Army Card, so that Frost Giant would be prevented from using Freezing Touch 14 on another figure.
Base Clarification: Ghost Rider is a single based figure.
Q: How do I climb with Ghost Rider? A:
Quote:
Level - heights of elevation on the battlefield
Space - horizontal locations on the battlefield that figures can occupy
When you would move with a flying figure, you count each space as you go while ignoring elevations. When Ghost Rider climbs, you count each space as you go basically ignoring up to 2 levels. So Ghost Rider moves just one space from level 0 to a level 2 hill and only used 1 movement. He could also move one space from level 0 to a level 4 hill and only use 2 movement.
Q: If a figure chooses to not move, or cannot move, can Graviton still roll for Gravitational Grasp to attempt to prevent that figure from attacking with a normal attack?
A: No. Graviton can only roll for Gravitational Grasp when a player attempts to actually move a figure, not any time the figure has the choice to move.
Q: If you use Black Canary's Cupid's Arrow and gain the +2 to Skill Shot, then you roll a 19, do you just count it as a 20?
A: YES
Q: If you Green Arrow's Skill Shot would cause a defending figure to subtract two defense dice, but that defending figure has only one or fewer defense dice to work with, does that defending figure roll negative defense dice?
A: No, silly person, there's no such thing as negative defense dice. The defending figure simply would not roll defense at all.
Q: So when exactly does the Green Construct get to move during the Green Lantern's turn?
A: During the sacrificed attack phase of that Green Lantern (so after the movement phase of that Green Lantern).
Q: Can I use Green Construct Creation to place previously destroyed Green Constructs?
A: No. Once a Green Construct you control is destroyed, it is out of the game. The Retchets summoning power and the Green Construct creation power ONLY deals in how the figure is initially placed on the battlefield. It is NOT a rebirth or resurrection power. When it is destroyed, it is destroyed just like any other figure, and it cannot come back unless you use a power that allows you to do so, but the Green Construct Creation power does not.
Q: Which activates first: Returning Stone Markers to Grey Gargoyle's card or any other power that states "end of the round"?
A: If the second end-of-round power is on a card you control, you may choose which activates first. If the second end-of-round power is on an opponent's card, then you must each roll the 20-sided die to determine whose power activates first. An exception to this is if a card that has a power that activates at the end of the round has a Stone Marker on it. If this is the case, then the Hand of Stone special power prevents the second power from activating.
Q: So, um, can I like choose any space on the battlefield to throw this bomb at?
A: Um, no. No you can't. The chosen space must be within the range of the attack (range 5, lob 8 ) as it relates to Harley Quinn.
Q: Only figures on same-level spaces are adjacent to spaces. So the bomb affect figures within two spaces horizontally and 0 spaces vertically. Was that the intent? Or should there be a height limit on the affected spaces? Or is it infinite? (If Harley bombs the space at the base of a 50-hex cliff . . .)
A: "Any figure on the chosen space and all figures within 2 spaces of the chosen space are affected." That is the second line on her card. To determine which spaces are "within 2 spaces of the chosen space" all you have to do is count two hexes over in all directions just as if you would check for the range of an attack, and each counted space is "within" the chosen space. So if Harley bombs a space at the base of a 50 level high hill or a 50,000 high hill, the figures that are one or two spaces over from the chosen space are affected, even if they are all the way up at the top. That is just one of those quirky things in Heroscape; like how Ana Karithon only has a range of 4, but she could still attack a figure that is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 levels higher up than she is. Vertical range is not a factor in this game, unless otherwise stated on cards like the Fen Hydra and Catwoman.
Q: How does Lob work anyway?
A: The official procedure for Lob can be found here.[/LIST][U]
Q: If Hawkman uses Golden Age Heroism to reveal an "X" OM on his card and activate four Mystery Men, and one of his chosen Mystery Men is Superman (Kal-L), can Kal-L use his Faster than a Speeding Bullet special power during his turn?
A: No. Faster than a Speeding Bullet is used "Instead of attacking", and a figure must be able to attack in order to use an "Instead of attacking" special power. More broadly, in order to use an "Instead of doing X" special power, a figure must be able to do X.
Q: Can I choose Hugo to be affected by Mutagenic Experiment?
A: Yes. Also, while the affects last through the round, even though his special powers are negated, he is still affected by Mutagenic Experiment, because it is an affect that lasts all round and was triggered before it was negated.
Q: Can Harley Quinn take a turn after Hugo Strange if he uses Insane Provocation? Harley's card says "after taking a turn" and Insane Provocation says "instead of taking a turn with Hugo Strange".
A: No. The “instead of taking a turn with Hugo Strange” inclusion in his Insane Provocation power means just that, you are substituting that action for his turn. So powers that say “after taking a turn with..” can't be used after Hugo Strange uses Insane Provocation because he didn't take a turn.
Q: If Human Torch is destroyed from engagement strikes before flying per the Flame On 4 ability, do you still roll the 20-sided die for opponent's figures?
A: No. If Human Torch receives enough wounds from one or more engagement strikes when trying to fly for Flame On 4, he is immediately destroyed and no longer engaged. Therefore, you would not roll the 20-sided die.
Q: If Iron Man (Mark V) is destroyed or an opposing player takes control of him, does this nullify the effects of Slave Circuit such as your ability to have multiple Iron Man: Tony Stark figures in the same army, or the change of their species to Android?
A: No, those effects begin at the start of the game and are for the remainder of the game, so they remain in effect even if Iron Man is destroyed or you lose control of Iron Man to an opponent. Only the portion of the Slave Circuit ability tied to Order Markers on Iron Man's card would be lost to you at that point.
Q: When I'm drafting other Tony Stark figures to use with the Slave Circuit ability, can I draft the same figure (such as Iron Man (Mark 1)) more than once?
A: Yes. The Slave Circuit ability "breaks" the rule preventing more than one Unique Hero from being drafted in the same army, allowing you to draft any number of the same Unique Hero that you choose in the same army as long as they're all Tony Stark figures.
Q: When rearranging Order Markers with Chaotic Leadership, can I place Order Markers on Iron Patriot's card?
A: No, the phrase "other than this card" applies to both "Order Markers placed" and "Army Cards you control." You cannot move Order Markers off of or onto Iron Patriot's card.
Q: Friday the 13th says to place Jason "on any empty space on the battlefield where he will not be in clear sight of any opponent's figure". If there is no such space, then Jason can't be placed back on the battlefield, correct?
A: Correct. If he can't be placed outside of clear sight, then he can't be placed anywhere.
Q: Exactly how does 3x2(9yZ)4A work with multiple opponent figures that are standing on varying levels of height in relation to Jesse Quick?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Jesse Quick (with 4 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, she would be able to use 3x2(9yZ)4A for 2 attacks (using 5 and then 4 dice), regardless of who she attacked after the first attack.
Q: If Jocasta uses Self-Sacrifice to take damage that would normally be done to a figure that has the Magical Defense (or any other special power that reduces damage) would Jocasta take the full damage done or the reduced damage?
A: The wording of Self-Sacrifice states that only the wounds (not skulls, hits or damage) are to be transferred, therefore all damage reduction powers would apply before transferring the wounds to Jocasta.
Q: Can Kang place the Glyph of Temporal Displacement on the space he currently occupies?
A: Kang can only place the markers on spaces he "previously" occupied, not currently.
Q: Can Kang place a Glyph of Temporal Displacement on a space he flew over this turn?
A: When a figure Flies, it is moving over a space, and therefore not really "occupying" it. However, the official FAQ from Heroscape is that a figure with the Flying or Stealth Flying special power may fly for part of its move and walk for the other part, and switch between the two at any time.
Q: Can a figure placed on Kang's card with Timestream Reinforcements that is still on his card use a special power? For example, Doctor Fate's Helm of Nabu doesn't have any kind of clear sight or line of sight restriction, so would that be usable while Doctor Fate is on Kang's card?
A: Unless otherwise stated, a figure cannot use a special power while that figure is out of play. So Doctor Fate couldn't use Helm of Nabu while he's on Kang's card.
Q: What happens to the figures placed on this card if Kang is destroyed?
A: When Kang is destroyed, any unplaced Reinforcements are not necessarily out of the game and they are not destroyed. They are just extremely difficult to get back. If there was a figure that could bring itself into the game, or some type of summoning power on another card that might be able to bring a Reinforcement onto the battlefield, they may still be able to enter the game. Keep in mind that the content of the previous question still applies even if Kang is destroyed; Order Markers may still be placed on the cards of unplaced Reinforcements, and special powers on those cards can still be used.
Q: How does Undead Resilience interact with powers like Hogun's Bludgeoning Strike and Black Widow's Widow's Bite? Are the additional wounds added before or after you use Undead Resilience?
A: The additional wounds are applied before Undead Resilience. For example, if Black Widow was to inflict 2 wounds on Kirigi with her attack and then place the additional wound with Widow's Bite, as long as those wounds don't kill Kirigi, he could then use Undead Resilience to remove 2 of those wounds, taking a total of 1 wound. Similarly, if Black Widow was to inflict only 1 wound with her attack, placing the additional wound would allow Undead Resilience to trigger and therefore she would do no damage with the attack.
Q: For Laser Barrage Special Attack, do I get to attack with it 3 times per turn, or use the whole power (as in move and attack) 3 times?
A: You can use the whole power 3 times. Meaning you'd move 4 spaces and attack with 4 dice, then move 4 spaces and attack with 3 dice, and finally move 4 spaces again and attack with 2 dice.
Q: Do Lurkers count toward Start Zone figure limits?
A: Yes. All figures in your army count toward your figure limit, even if they do not begin the game in the Start Zone or on the battlefield.
Q: Can I continue to bring back Lurkers with Viral Infection if I no longer control any Lurkers on the battlefield?
A: Generally, unless otherwise stated, powers stop working after all the figures from the card are destroyed. There is nothing in Viral Infection to except it from this rule, so therefore once all figures with the Viral Infection special power that you control have been destroyed, you can no longer use Viral Infection to bring any of your destroyed Lurkers back.
Q: If Mad Hatter is destroyed, do the Hat Markers that have already been placed still take effect?
A: The wording of Hat Trick indicates that the only way to remove a Hat Marker is by inflicting 1 or more wounds. Therefore, the Hat Markers remain in play.
Although Mad Hatter is removed from play, the Hat Markers are still in play. Because the effect of not being able to reveal Order Markers applies to the Marker itself, and not Mad Hatter, the effect would still apply.
Therefore, even after Mad Hatter is destroyed, figures with a Hat Marker will still not be able to reveal Order Markers until the Hat Marker is removed by receiving 1 or more wound.
It's worth noting that Zatanna can also remove Hat Markers with her Retla Setats special power.
Q: Can I use Mind Games at the start of my turn even if I use Android Affinity to take a turn with someone besides Mad Thinker?
A: Yes, you can. Mind Games activates "before taking a turn", and since you're still taking a turn when using Android Affinity, you may use Mind Games. In addition, Mind Games would be used before choosing whether or not to use Android Affinity, since Android Affinity activates "instead of taking a turn", while Mind Games activates before the turn.
Q: If I use Android Affinity to remove an Order Marker to get a second turn, do I get to use Mind Games a second time that turn?
A: No. Mind Games requires you to "reveal" an Order Marker, and since Android Affinity "removes" an Order Marker, it can't trigger Mind Games. Mind Games only triggers when the initial Order Marker is revealed on Mad Thinker's card.
Magma uses molten lava tiles. It is recommended that you use C3G's Molten Lava rules.
Q: Where can Magma place lava tiles? What exactly constitutes an empty land space?
A: A molten lava tile may be placed on any empty land space. She may not place a molten lava tile on a Water, Swamp Water, Ice, Molten Lava or Shadow tile. She may also not place a molten lava tile over a Glyph as the space is not empty.
Q: If you roll for Magnetic Throw and get a high enough roll, you get to throw twice, correct? It's not a situation where you have to roll a second time after throwing the first time, right? Because it states "when he uses it, he may use it one additional time", it doesn't say "when he uses it he may attempt to use it one additional time."
A: He may (not required) use the entire special power one additional time, which involves rolling the d20 for the chance to throw and then rolling the d20 for damage from throwing. Anytime a figure "uses" a power, it is "attempting to use" that power; however, there's no guarantee that the use will be successful.
Q: What happens when you can't target and attack the switched figure in Illusionary Arts?
A: Any time you target a figure and realize you can't attack them, you get to decide whether to try to target a different figure instead and go on with your turn as normal.
Q: When Claw Grab inflicts a wound on a figure, does the wound take place on the grabbed figure's original location, or does it occur in the space where it's placed? This is for determining where the figure loses its glyph, or for abilities such as Atom's Molecular Irritant.
A: The wound takes place at the location where it was at before placing the figure. The text indicates the wound takes place after rolling the attack die, then it tells you to place the figure.
Mandarin starts the game with the Glyph of Makluan Electromagnetic Rings, Glyph of Makluan Energy Rings, and Glyph of Makluan Matter Rings, which follow Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Since Mandarin can't lose the rings by any means other than being destroyed, does that mean Shadow Thief can't steal them?
This may be obvious to some, but is he actually "losing" the ring if Shadow Thief takes it?
A: That is an excellent question, and I have been prepared to FAQ it as soon as someone asked.
The term "lose" as you have probably already assumed is a keyword used in our rules for Equipment glyphs. That term in the proper context as it is found on Mandarin's card, holds just as much power as any other official term like "move", "attack", "target", etc.
In short, Shadow Thief can take a Makluan Ring glyph away from Mandarin because Mandarin wouldn't technically be "losing" the glyph. To "lose" a glyph, per the C3G rules, is to be wounded or destroyed. That also means that Mandarin could "drop" one if he chose to.
Q: On Manhunting, when the chosen opponent's figure reveals the numbered Order Marker, does only one Manhunter move (based on the word this), or do all of your Manhunters get to move?
A: They all get to move, but each Manhunter only moves once. Each Uncommon Hero figure is supposed to have his own Army Card. If Manhunter had said something like "you may immediately move all Manhunters you control," then an unintended chaining effect would occur. Manhunter #1 would move all Manhunters, then Manhunter #2 would move all Manhunters, etc. That would allow each Manhunter to move multiple times. What actually happens with the current wording is that all Manhunters are triggered by the Order Marker reveal. As you process each Manhunter, the word this confines the effect to just that Manhunter. However, all Manhunters are triggered, so they all get to move.
Q: Can I use Yellow Power Charge to place a yellow power marker removed from one card on another card? For instance, if Arkillo burns a yellow power marker and then is destroyed, can I put his yellow power marker on Sinestro with this power?
A: No, Yellow Power Charge can only be used to replace a marker that was previously on that card. Sinestro can only have markers that were on his card at the start of the game placed on his card and so forth.
Q: Can Martian Manhunter move through castle walls?
A: Yes he can. Like in the official flying power, they list obstacles such as ruins without having to list trees, warehouse and castle walls, Intangibility is the same where "such as ruins" equates to other stuff like trees, warehouse and castle walls.
Q: Can Martian Manhunter be affected by FRIENDLY powers that require clear sight? Like Red Skull's masterminding, for example?
A: Yes he can. Only opponent's figures cannot use special powers on him that require clear sight.
Q: Can Martian Manhunter move himself with Telepathic Directive?
A: No. A figure is never within "X" spaces of itself.
Q: Before moving a figure with Telepathic Directive, can I use a power that triggers "before moving", like Beast's Negotiation power?
A: No. When a power says it triggers "before moving", that only refers to when it happens during that figure's turn (an example would be Carry). You are not taking a turn with that figure when it moves with Telepathic Directive, so you cannot use these powers.
Q: How about powers that change how you move, like Flying, Ice Resistance, or Super Leap?
A: Only powers that don't say "instead of normal movement". So Flying can be used, and you can count 1 space for heavy snow and slippery ice with Ice Resistance. but Super Leap, and other movement powers that happen instead of normal movement, cannot be used. Powers that trigger as a result of movement, such as Razor Wing Slash, can be used.
Q: If Masahiro chooses a figure for Ruthless Command, but he is destroyed before the end of the round, do I still have to sacrifice one of my own figures if the chosen figure is still in play?
A: No. Unless otherwise stated, all power effects stop working once all the figures on that card are destroyed. As soon as Masahiro is destroyed, his allies no longer receive the Attack die, but do not have to be destroyed at the end of the round.
Q: If the Ice Rock placed by Frost Giant to trap a figure is removed by using Matter-Eater Lad's Matter Eater special power, does the trapped figure return to the battlefield?
A: No. The Matter Eater special power removes the Destructible Object from the game without destroying & without triggering powers that activate when the object is destroyed.
Q: Can Meggan copy powers that reference "the start of the game" and/or place markers on her card with Power Mimicry 13?
A: Yes, but she can only use the part of a power that happens during her turn. If the power requires having a marker on Meggan's card that is not already on her card, then she cannot use it. For example, if Meggan copied Green Lantern (Guy Gardner) she would not gain any Green Battery Markers, but she could still use Willful Overextend by placing a wound marker on her card.
Q: Can Meggan use "before taking a turn" or "after taking a turn" powers with Power Mimicry 13?
A: No. Meggan's turn has already started when she uses Power Mimicry 13, so she can't use "before taking a turn" powers like Lobo's Blah Blah Healing Factor, Blah. Similarly, she loses copied powers at the end of her turn, so she cannot use "after taking a turn" powers like Mister Hyde's Healing Factor.
Q: Can Meggan use "after revealing an order marker" powers with Power Mimicry 13, if she revealed an Order Marker on her card?
A: Yes, if the power is used during Meggan's turn. For example, if Meggan copied Larfleeze, you could use Orange Lantern Corps to take a turns with Orange Constructs, because that power is used "instead of attacking". Powers that trigger before or after Meggan's turn cannot be used.
Metallo starts the game with the Glyph of Green Kryptonite, which follows Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Is the Glyph of Green Kryptonite still "equipped" to Metallo when it is face down? And when the glyph is face down, is the glyph still affecting the game?
A: Yes of course. When an Equipment Glyph is on a figures card, it is always equipped. So He could not equip other glyphs while the Green Kryptonite is on his card. And no. According to official rules, glyphs are only active and their powers are only taking place when they are Power-Side up.
Q: Can a figure affected by Blinding Light use a special power that requires clear sight on a figure adjacent to them?
A: No. Blinding Light completely prevents figures from using special powers that require clear sight, regardless of where the figure is. They can still attack adjacent figures though, because that does not require clear sight.
Q: If I roll X for Through The Looking Glass, but there is no empty space exactly X spaces away that I can place the figure on, do I not get to place the figure at all?
Q: Can you use Frenchie's Airdrop to drop Moon Knight into an area below an overhang?
A: No. Just like you cannot with the Airborne Elite.
Q: Can you move and attack with Moon Knight after placing him on the battlefield with Frenchie's Airdrop?
A: No. Placing Moon Knight on the battlefield with Frenchie's Airdrop is considered Moon Knight's move for that turn.
[*]Q: Does using Frenchie's Airdrop to place Moon Knight either on the battlefield or on his card count as taking a turn with Moon Knight?
[*]A: Yes.
Q: If I target Mysterio, and he successfully rolls for Vanishing Act, can I target another figure and attack them?
A: Yes. Before attacking Mysterio, you must first declare that you are targeting him. If Vanishing Act is successfully rolled, you may then target and attack any other figure within range.
Q: If I target Mysterio, and he successfully rolls for Vanishing Act, but the only figures he can switch with are adjacent to my attacking figure, can I still attack him?
A: Yes, you do not need a visible hit zone to attack an adjacent figure.
Q: So the Mysterio Holographs don't have any hit zones? How does that work? Can they still be attacked?
A: Mysterio Holographs may not be targeted by any attacks or powers that require a visible hit zone. Adjacent figures do not require visible hit zones to attack one another. Non-Adjacent figures require visible hit zones to attack or special attack. Some abilities only require clear sight, however, and would therefore still be able to be used on Mysterio Holographs.
Q: Can I activate a Mutant Sidekick after revealing an Order Marker on Mystique and using Outcast Assault if I roll a 1-7? It says "nothing happens".
A: No, it doesn't matter what the result of the roll was, simply making the roll means you are "using" Outcast Assault and therefore cannot activate any additional figures that turn.
Q: Can I put Order Markers on Nick Fury and use his Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. special power to take a turn with a unit on the battlefield while Nick Fury isn't on the battlefield due to not yet being placed by his Helicarrier Drop Team special power?
A: In short, no. While you can legally place Order Markers on Nick Fury's card while he is not on the battlefield, you can't actually take turns with him. And since Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is "instead" of Nick Fury's turn, it requires that he be able to take that turn for him to be able to give that turn to a different figure.
Q: Can an Orange Construct use Assumed Identity to use powers that reference the start of the game, such as Green power Battery?
A: If a special power's text references "the start of the game," then even if the Orange Construct uses Assumed Identity to use that power, he cannot use those "start of the game" effects.
Q: How does Orange Shield Deflection work with the "minimum number of spaces to the attacking figure"?
A: You count spaces from Orange Lantern to the attacking figure so you would count all spaces between them and the space that the attacking figure is on. You would not count the space Orange Lantern is on.
Q: Suppose Orange Lantern is attacked by someone who can't be chosen for a clear sight power. The attacker can't receive the wound. If there aren't any candidates available for deflection, could Orange Lantern still burn the Battery to ignore the attack?
A: Yes. The "and" means it is in addition, not a requirement.
Q: If you have an extra "X" marker on this card, can you reveal both "X"s to remove 2 Order Markers from your opponent's cards?
A: No, because in the wording it specifies "an" Order Marker, so you can never reveal more than one "X" marker for Smartest Man in the World in one round.
Q: When I reveal an Order Marker on a card, and all the figures on that card have been destroyed, am I still supposed to roll for Self Importance?
A: No, because the rule book says that you may not "reveal" Order Markers on cards that have all of its figures destroyed. Those Turn Order Markers are "lost".
Q: If I have Riddler and Penguin both in my army, which do I roll for first? Riddle Me This, or Self-Importance 16? Both powers activate after revealing an Order Marker on Riddler.
A: The official ruling on powers that activate simultaneously, is that if you control both figures, you choose the order in which they activate. Quick strategic tip: You probably want to activate Riddle Me This first just about every time!
Q: For Negative Speed Force Special Attack, does it only occur when you first enter engagement with that figure or can you run in a circle around the figure and attack on every movement?
A: "Engages" means when you first enter the engagement, yes. You can't engage a figure if you're already engaged with it.
That said, thanks to Super Speed, he can engage, attack, disengage, engage again, attack again, etc.
Q: Elektra's Deadly Barrage states she can only attack from a space where she can normally end her move. That isn't stated in Negative Speed Force. Does that mean that Professor Zoom can attack from spaces occupied by other figures as he's passing through?
A: No. You must occupy a space on the battlefield in order to attack, because that's the basis for determining matters such as adjacency. Phantom Walk and Superspeed allow you to break the rule for passing through other figures, but it doesn't allow you to break the rule for occupying spaces.
Q: Exactly how does Assault Rifle work with multiple opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to Punisher?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Punisher (with 4 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, he would be able to use Assault Rifle for a maximum of 3 attacks (using 5,4,3 dice), regardless of who he attacked after the first attack.
Q: Quicksilver is engaged with both my opponent's Batman and Superman, who are on adjacent spaces. We are all on the same level. Can Quicksilver use his Whirlwind Vortex Special Attack against Superman while passing through Batman?
A: Yes. Quicksilver's Superspeed power allows him to pass through figures. Quicksilver never leaves engagement with Superman as he whirls around him, even while passing through the space that Batman occupies, and should roll the full 7 dice if he ends up back on the space he started on.
Q: What is the maximum amount of dice Quicksilver can throw for his special attack?
A: It maxes out at 7, because he can move onto a total of 6 spaces during the turn. The space he starts out on can be moved onto as part of this attack, because he did not move onto it at the beginning of his turn, he just started there.
Q: How does the defending figure know if he has height advantage against Quicksilver's special attack?
A: The defending figure determines height advantage from the space on which Quicksilver ends his move.
Red Robin starts the game with a Utility Glyph, which follows Equipment Glyph rules.
Q: Can Red Robin carry an Equipment Glyph in addition to the Utility Equipment Glyph?
A: No. Red Robin can either equip: Up to 1 Utility Equipment Glyph OR 1 normal Equipment Glyph. In order to pick up a single normal Equipment Glyph he must first drop all Utility Equipment Glyphs.
Q: When targeting a Roamer from behind it, if you can't see its head, can you still target the Roamer?
A: Yes, if you can see the area of its back where the head would be. Thematically, you can imagine shooting through the body in order to hit the head.
Q: Can I continue to bring back Roamers with Viral Infection if I no longer control any Roamers on the battlefield?
A: Generally, unless otherwise stated, powers stop working after all the figures from the card are destroyed. There is nothing in Viral Infection to except it from this rule, so therefore once all figures with the Viral Infection special power that you control have been destroyed, you can no longer use Viral Infection to bring any of your destroyed Roamers back.
Q: Can Vigilante Protection prevent opponents' figures from rolling for leaving engagement attacks against Robin?
A: No. The word "attack" refers only to normal and special attacks. Leaving engagement attacks are never considered to be "attacks" for the purposes of C3G special powers.
Q: Can you use Carry if you move 0 spaces to reposition one of your figures, and then use Guarding the Globe, because Robot himself didn't move?
A: No, because even moving 0 spaces is moving, which means Robot could not use his Guarding the Globe power at that point. In order to use his Carry, he must move, even if it's a movement of 0, but if he does move, even 0 spaces, he can't use Guarding the Globe that turn.
Q: What happens if I use Universal Weapon but can't move all adjacent figures away from Ronan due to them being double-spaced figures or powers like Jean Grey's Psionic Grip?
A: If Ronan is still adjacent to his Accused after using the push (due to it being one of the figures you weren't able to move away), or if Ronan's Accused is not adjacent to him but Ronan is only adjacent friendly figures, Ronan can go ahead and attack his Accused. However, if Ronan is still engaged but his Accused is not adjacent to him, he doesn't get to attack and his turn effectively ends.
Q: Can a figure with a Webbing Marker be moved by special powers such as Martian Manhunter's Telepathic Directive?
A: The webbed figure cannot move on his own, but could be moved by other powers that don't require that figure to move on it's own. So Telepathic Directive would not work, since you have to move him, but if you used Spider-Man's Web Slinger, it WOULD work, since the opponent is just placing that figure adjacent to him.
Scientist Supreme starts the game with a glyph pool containing the Glyph of Experimental Medicine, the Glyph of Cosmic Cube, the Glyph of Teleportation Belt, and the Glyph of Cosmic Control Rod. These glyphs follow Equipment Glyph rules.
Space - horizontal locations on the battlefield that figures can occupy
When you would move with a flying figure, you count each space as you go while ignoring elevations. When Scorpion climbs, you count each space as you go basically ignoring up to 2 levels. So Scorpion moves just one space from level 0 to a level 2 hill and only used 1 movement. He could also move one space from level 0 to a level 4 hill and only use 2 movement.
Q: Can Scorpion counts ladder rungs 2 for 1 since they are elevation changes?
A: No, 1 ladder rung equals 2 elevations, so the bonus of the ladder is doing the same thing as the Climb ability, therefore only one is used at a time, your choice (you can look up the official ruling for Climb x2 and how it does not work on ladders if you need to).
Q: On Swarm of Shadows, when the Order Marker is revealed on the Qwardian hero or squad you control, does only one Shadow Demon move (based on the word this), or do all of your Shadow Demons get to move?
A: They all get to move, but each Shadow Demon only moves once. Each Uncommon Hero figure is supposed to have his own Army Card. If Shadow Demon had said something like "you may immediately move all Shadow Demon you control," then an unintended chaining effect would occur. Shadow Demon #1 would move all Shadow Demons, then Shadow Demon #2 would move all Shadow Demons, etc. That would allow each Shadow Demon to move multiple times. What actually happens with the current wording is that all Shadow Demons are triggered by the Order Marker reveal. As you process each Shadow Demon, the word this confines the effect to just that Shadow Demon. However, all Shadow Demons are triggered, so they all get to move.
Q: If Shadow Thief is the only figure you control on the battlefield, can he still use Dimensiometer?
A: No, if you do, you will have no figures left on the battlefield and will lose.
Q: Can I steal an Equipment Glyph without using Dimensiometer first?
A: No, the only way you can steal an Equipment Glyph is by placing Shadow Thief adjacent to the figure when he is coming off of his card.
Q: Can Shadow Thief use Dimensiometer to place a glyph on his Army Card he could not normally equip?
A: No, he is equipping the glyphs when he steals them.
Q: If Shadow Thief is on his card, are glyphs on his Army Card active?
A: Maybe. What is "active"? If "active" to you means that the glyph is still in play and can affect the game, then your answer is: YES, it is still active. However, if there are specific restrictions on the glyph like its holder must have Clear Line of Sight, must be on a water space, etc., then the glyph is still in play but it is not affecting the game. Your question can really only be answered depending on which Equipment Glyph is in question. An example of how an Equipment Glyph can still be "active" or affect the game while Shadow Thief is holding it and on his card (not destroyed) could be a Equipment Glyph of Probability that adds +5 to your initiative roll.
Q: Can Shadow Thief use Dimensiometer even when he is affected by another special power that prevents him from moving?
A: Yes. The Dimensionmeter special power removes Shadow Thief from the battlefield and is NOT considered moving.
Q: If Zetacron, Migol, or any figure with Deadly Shot/Strike roll 2 attack dice and roll two skulls, is She-Hulk rolling 2 or 4 additional defense dice?
A: 2. Hard Body allows you to roll additional defense dice for each skull rolled, not each skull counted.
Q: If my Magneto throws your Flash to his HOT LAVA DEATH, and you choose to place a Skrull Infiltrator on that lava space, you immediately roll for lava damage for the Skrull, right?
A: No actually. You only roll for Lava Death when your figure moves onto a molten lava space. The official FAQ is that placement powers act the same way as movement powers in terms of how they relate to lava damage. But this is a replacement power - no FAQ there.
Q: Do Skrull Infiltrators count toward startzone figure limits?
A: Yes. All figures in your army count toward your figure limit, even if they do not begin the game in the startzone or on the battlefield.
Q: Exactly how does Master Swordplay work with multiple adjacent opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to Solomon Kane?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Solomon Kane (with 3 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, he would be able to use Master Swordplay for a maximum of 4 attacks (using 4,3,2,1 dice), regardless of who he attacked after the first attack. This is assuming that he rolled at least 1 skull on each previous attack.
Q: If an Order Marker is revealed on Wolverine when Spider-Girl is engaged with Jubilee, and Spider Girl successfully rolls for Bio-Magnetic Field 12, can Jubilee take a turn after Wolverine's turn ends using Mutant Sidekick?
A: No. "This turn" in Bio-Magnetic Field 12 refers to the player's turn, not the turn of a figure. Jubilee is still affected by Bio-Magnetic Field 12.
Q: If I have two Unique Heroes with the same class or species, and one of them is destroyed, will Ragtag Tactics come into effect?
A: No. The phrase "in your army" means all figures drafted, assigned, etc., whether they are currently on the battlefield or have been destroyed/removed.
Q: Gravity Rod says that after moving a terrain piece Starman can "choose a figure adjacent to the moved terrain piece". What does it mean to be adjacent to a terrain piece?
A: Check for adjacency between a terrain piece and a figure the same way you would check for adjacency between two figures. A single or double hex land terrain piece has a height of 1.
Q: Can Jubilee take a turn after Storm if Storm uses Gale Force Winds? Jubilee's card says "after taking a turn" and Gale Force Winds says "instead of taking a turn with Storm".
A: No. The “instead of taking a turn with Storm” inclusion in her Gale Force Winds power means just that, you are substituting that action for her turn. So powers that say “after taking a turn with..” can't be used after Storm uses Gale Force Winds because she didn't take a turn.
Q: Can Sunfire use Raining Fire when he's moved with Honorable Defender or another movement power such as Martian Manhunter's (I) Telepathic Directive?
A: No. Raining Fire triggers "instead of attacking", requiring Sunfire to be taking an actual turn. When he's moved by powers such as Honorable Defender or Telepathic Directive he is not taking a turn, and therefore cannot use any powers that trigger "instead of attacking".
Q: When Sunfire uses Raining Fire, can he choose any or all figures he passed over (without the Lava Resistant special power), or does he have to roll for all figures he passed over?
A: He must roll against all figures (without the Lava Resistant special power) that he passed over.
Q: What if Superman uses Heroic Duty to defend for another figure, but the attacker does not have clear sight to Superman? Are bonuses like height advantage determined by comparing to the original target of the attack, or to Superman?
A: After moving adjacent to the friendly figure that initiated the Heroic Duty power, Superman must defend against the attack that initiated the Heroic Duty power regardless of whether he is in the range or LOS of the attacking figure. Range and LOS only apply to the figure that was initially chosen for the attack.
However, since Superman is the one defending the attack, he receives any defensive bonuses against the attacking figure, including any height advantage he may have.
Q: Exactly how does Assault Rifle work with multiple opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to S.W.A.T. Rifleman?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If S.W.A.T. Rifleman (with 3 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, he would be able to use Assault Rifle for a maximum of 3 attacks (using 4, 3, 2 dice), regardless of who he attacked after the first attack.
Q: Exactly how does Swordplay work with multiple adjacent opponent figures that are at standing on varying levels of height in relation to Talia al Ghul?
A: The first attack "locks in" a number of attack dice to roll, and every subsequent attack after that is based on the initial roll. Lets do an example: If Talis al Ghul (with 3 Attack) had height advantage on the first target, she would be able to use Swordplay for a maximum of 4 attacks (using 4,3,2,1 dice), regardless of who she attacked after the first attack. This is assuming that she rolled at least 1 skull on each previous attack.
Q: How does road bonus interact with Vertigo Projection? Does Vertigo get to roll 3 extra dice?
A: No, the road bonus doesn't count as a part of the figure's move number, so the figure will be able to move 3 spaces that turn, plus however much move they get after Vertigo Projection has been rolled for.
Q: Can Vision's Density Control prevent knockback? I'm assuming Vision could still be moved by a glyph (such as Cosmic Cube). But I wasn't sure if knockback would be prevented based on the fact that knockback is based on the Super Strength ability.
A: Knockback is an extension of the Super Strength special power, so if something prevents special powers from doing something, it also prevents Knockback from doing something.
Q: Does Magical Defense reduce the damage from Physical Disruption to 1? Physical Disruption is used instead of attacking, but the definition of Attack in the DnD Glossary defines Attack as an attempt to destroy or adversely affect one or more figures using a normal attack, a special attack, or most special powers. I'm thinking this satisfies the criteria for Magical Defense, and the damage is reduced to 1.
A: An "Attack" as it is used on this card or any card is in specific reference to normal attacks and special attacks only. The only exception is when a card specifically references a leaving engagement attack, which is not a true attack it just has the burden of sharing a similar word with the term "attack".
Q: Can I continue to bring back Walkers with Viral Infection if I no longer control any Walkers on the battlefield?
A: Generally, unless otherwise stated, powers stop working after all the figures from the card are destroyed. There is nothing in Viral Infection to except it from this rule, so therefore once all figures with the Viral Infection special power that you control have been destroyed, you can no longer use Viral Infection to bring any of your destroyed Walkers back.
Q: If Killer Croc uses his Swamp Creature ability, would that trigger War Machine's Auto Chain Gun?
A: Yes. If an opponent's figure is thrown, placed, summoned etc. into engagement with Mystique, then Engagement Strike applies. So if a figure not within Auto Chain Gun range ends up within Auto Chain Gun range for any reason, you may roll for it (prevents friendly fire situations).
Q: When I add extra dice Weather Wizard's second attempt on his special attack, can I add dice to that attack for "placement" powers like Teleport Evade, Radar Sense, or Mirror Mirage?
A: Yes, because the official FAQ is that "Placement" = "Movement". So, be sure to add +1 to Weather Wizard's second attempt at his special attack for each space the defending figure was moved/placed. Remember, if the figure is "placed", you need to count the number of spaces it was "placed" on this turn, not the number of spaces between it previous location and its current location.
Q: When Witchblade defends against a special attack, what "Attack number" should be used for Bio-Adaptive Defense?
A: "Attack number" always refers to the number listed in the red box on a unit's card, and would always be used, regardless of the attack type or modifications to the roll.
Q: If Wolverine started a turn with no wounds, attacked a figure with Counterstrike (or similar power) and received wounds from it would Wolverine be able to attack again using Berserker Rage?
A: Yes. Berserker Rage does not specify that Wolverine must start his turn with wounds on his card.
Q: If Wonder Man has only 1 Life remaining, can Ionic Imbalance still activate?
A: Yes. When the number of wounds taken from an attack or special power exceeds the remaining Life of the figure taking the wounds, that figure is still considered to have received all wounds from that attack or special power.
So when you're adding up the number of wounds Wonder Man would take from an attack, if that number is 2 or more, you have the option to use Ionic Imbalance, even when Wonder Man has only 1 Life left.
Q: So is the only time your abilities are negated on the turn she lassos you?
A: You remain negated until you are no longer engaged or when another figure engages Wonder Woman.
Q: Or can you leave and come back and have all of your abilities?
A: Yes. But remember, not only are you risking a leaving engagement attack, but you are also going up against her Warrior Engagement, so you may not end up moving at all and still take that wound.
Q: If the second one is true on Wonder Womans next turn if she starts out adjacent to you does she or does she not get to negate your powers?
A: Figures that are lassoed remain negated until they are no longer engaged or when another figure engages Wonder Woman.
Q: Can Wonder Woman use her Warrior Engagement power on any figure leaving an engagement with her, no matter what?
A: No. Rolling for a leaving engagement attack is the trigger for Warrior Engagement, so Wonder Woman can only use the power in a situation in which she would roll for a leaving engagement attack.
Q: If Wong uses Kan's Oath to take the damage instead of his master would he take the full damage rolled or the single wound that the master would take since that figure would have the Magical Defense special power.
A: Wong would take all the damage. It's a matter of order of powers. When the master takes the wounds, the wounds are reduced to 1 wound because of Magical Defense. But since Ken's Oath triggers before this occurs, they haven't been mitigated down to 1 wound yet.
Q: If more than 1 figure is adjacent to X-23, and she rolls a 5 against the first figure, does she still roll for the other figures after finishing her barrage against the first figure.
A: Yes, you roll the 20-sided die for each adjacent figure, one by one. Each time you roll a 1-5, you then attack that figure and continue attacking the same figure as long as she inflicts a wound. Once that is completed, you then proceed to the next adjacent figure (if any remain) and roll the 20-sided die to determine if any other figures are attacked.
Q: If she hits a 1-5 against any adjacent figure, her turn is finished when she is done against all adjacent figures, right?
A: Correct. If she rolls the 20-sided die against all adjacent figures and all rolls are 6 or greater, she can proceed with her turn normally. However, if any of the 20-sided die rolls are 1-5 and trigger the Frenzy attacks, you complete the Frenzy attack process and continue rolling the 20-sided die until you've rolled for all adjacent figures. After this process is completed, X-23 then forfeits her normal movement and attack phases, and her turn is over.
A: Glad you asked! Read here for more information.
Q: What are Artifact Glyphs?
A: Artifact Glyphs have no special power, and are to be used for official scenarios, or scenarios that you create.
Q: Landing on a glyph is supposed to end a figure's movement. How is that handled in the case of figures like Green Goblin and Nightcrawler that can move multiple times?
A: They can use their special powers to move again after landing on a glyph, as they met both the requirements from their power and the glyph: they stopped. Glyphs don't end the Movement Phase/Action, they merely require figures to immediately stop.
Q: If Forge uses the Replicator to copy the Glyph of Smilex does he get the same benefits as an Insane character equipped with the card? Or would that make him unable to hold the Replicator?
A: He's not equipping the Smilex glyph, just using its special power, so there's no problem with him not being Insane.
Q: If you were to use the Replicator on the Infinity Gauntlet, would that mean you could use all the specials of the gems if they are part of the gauntlet already?
A: No. The gems powers aren't part of the Infinity Gauntlet glyph and the Replicator glyph only allows you to replicate the power on the glyph. But it certainly would allow you to gain the Infinity Gauntlet's power with which you can then capture the powers of any gems still available on the battlefield.
Q: Can I use special movement abilities like Flying, Bat-Grapple 3 or Sandman's Sandstorm during my free movement for Police Scanner?
A: Yes and no. Flying modifies normal movement, so it can be used during the free movement. However, powers like Sandstorm, Swing Line, and Bat-Grapple explicitly say "instead of moving normally" so they can't be used with the free movement, which is considered a "normal move."
Q: When a special power like Jean Grey's Telekinesis or Magneto's throw "places" my figure on this Glyph, can I immediately use this power?
A: The official ruling for throwing powers and the like is that the word "place" is the same as the word "move". So when Magneto (or whoever) throws your figure and places it on this glyph, your figure has moved on to it, and because it is a Permanent Glyph, your figure must stop here on it. That means that Yes, you may immediately use this power. This is also relevant to figures like Chronos who will have powers that allow him to be "placed" on this Glyph.
Q: If my figure starts its turn occupying this Glyph, do I have to move off of this Glyph and then move back onto it to use its power?
A: The official ruling for moving 0 spaces is that a move of 0 is still a move. You do not have to move off of the Glyph to use its power if you moved 0+ spaces and stopped on the Glyph.

Destructible Object FAQ
Spoiler Alert!
General
Spoiler Alert!
Q: Do destructible objects count as figures for the purposes of special powers?
A: Destructible objects that have size designations (such as the T-Sphere or the Parked Car) do count as figures. Destructible objects without a size designation (such as the Ice Mountain or the Parked 18-Wheeler) do not count as figures.
Q: Does a Battlement moved by the optional Throwing Rules, or Knockback, count as being moved "by a special power"?
A: Yes. When a Battlement Destructible Object is moved by the Optional Rules of Throwing or Knockback, it is laid on its side, because those Optional Rules are extensions of the Super Strength special power.
Q: What space is a Battlement considered to occupy?
A: A Battlement occupies the space that it is attached to, and even if that space is occupied by one or more Battlements, that space is considered to be empty for the purpose of other figures, glyphs, destructible objects, and obstacles being able to occupy it at the same time as the Battlement(s).
Q: If each player controls a figure on top of the trailer of the Parked 18-Wheeler and it receives wounds and/or it is destroyed, which player rolls the d20 first to possibly place their figure in case the 18-Wheeler only took wounds, and which player gets to place their figure first if the 18-Wheeler is destroyed?
A: Each player rolls a 20-sided die to determine who rolls first for possible placement off of the 18-Wheeler, or who places their figure on spaces previously occupied by the 18-Wheeler.
Q: If my figure is on a Turbo Lift attached to the third ladder rung and my opponent's figure is on the third ladder rung on a different ladder, does my figure have height advantage?
Smilex:
There's some funky wording here due to age, specifically in that the card misuses references to "your figures".

Just wondering, why can't you use relentless bonding? It is an official power....
It is a perfect official power, that came out after our use of relentless on Wolverine & that kind of bonding with Wolverine is broken. Sadly we can't control what they do with the official figures. (Obviously or it wouldn't be the end of them )
Just wondering, why can't you use relentless bonding? It is an official power....
Honestly, I don't think we should make a statement that you can't. You can do any mixing you want to. You should just do it knowing that it's:
a) not recommended by the C3G design team
and
b) probably going to be broken in the case of the Death Knights
But I don't think we need to make a statement forbidding it. You really can't forbid people from playing what they want together anyway, so it's silly to try.

Yeah. I think the blanket "buyer beware" of classic/C3G is enough. You're welcome to mix if you want, but be aware that there are a number of problems and balance issues that may pop up.
