Re: Sports: NFL
I'm acquainted with a guy who played a couple years more or less anonymously in the NFL. When looking for an example of how not to run a team, he cites the Cowboys.

Re: Sports: NFL
My issue is that Jerry Jones insists on running the team (as the GM) yet he seem to have no clue how to run an organization. I hate when owner interfere with the team, I understand that they own the team and want their usually hundreds-of-million-dollars investment, but it would only make sense in the understand the entire organization, not just finances and what fills seats.

Re: Sports: NFL
Well, that was exciting. Tough game, Lions fans. I'm not a Lions fan, but I feel like from a great distance I can see how it might be painful to live with that, year in and year out.
Here is a stat you never want to see: (Stafford interceptions) > (Times Trent Dilfer said Lions "threw up on themselves") Just barely, but still. That hurts. Better luck the rest of this year, and next year, too. |

Re: Sports: NFL
The Packers really needed the Lions to lose, and they obliged. Now if the Packers can win their next few games and beat the Bears then we can win the division. Overall, a great week for the Packers. On a side note, the NFC North race this year feels almost as messy as your typical NFC East divisional race.

61 yards of miserable here .... Happy for DS at least.
Any good coaches out there? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Sports: NFL
As a sympathetic outsider, Bats, I think your need for a coach may be overshadowed by your need for a quarterback. It's one thing to put up yards, it's another thing to put up wins.

Re: Sports: NFL
I kinda feel sorry for the Rams. They have 8 losses. Five of those are to the 9ers, Seahawks, Cardinals and Panthers. I'm guessing they'd have had a decent shot at winning the North or East. 'Course the Cards stand a decent chance of going 9-7 and missing the playoffs with six of those seven losses coming against the Niners, Seahawks, Saints and Eagles. The NFC West is murder this year.

Re: Sports: NFL
Oooh, Balantai. That hit was completely dirty, besides being illegal. Should have been a flag, probably will be a fine, and it's a shame that a team fighting for a spot in the playoffs should lose a key specialist for the season that way.
Yuck. No wonder everyone hates the Steelers.

Re: Sports: NFL
I completely agree, D_S. That block was completely uncalled for and he deserves to be fined. The Steelers have always built extreme intensity into their teams and unfortunately, the same thing that makes the team great often translates to unnecessary roughness. As a Ravens fan, you should understand. I hope Kevin Huber makes a speedy recovery.

Re: Sports: NFL
How sad is it that an overachieving(or overrated) Eagles team/ lucky cowboys team and whoever wins the North (I don't think any of them are going to compete well in the tourney) are going to get home games in the playoffs, and good teams like Car/NO, SF/Ari, are going to have to play on the road, and one of those team are going to miss the playoffs.
Or in the AFC, where the Chiefs are probably going to have to play at Cincinnati or Indianapolis, when they could have the second best record in the conference (by virtue of tiebreaker to Denver) |
