Re: The Book of Arthur - Public Playtesting
C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Arthur Army Test Summary: He did pretty well as a general annoyance. He dealt two wounds which is great for his cost. He’s so squishy I would never rely on him though. Map: Custom Units: Arthur, Tick, Killer Moth, Constantine, Oracle (600) Vs. Batman II (Smoke Pellets, Shurikens, Grapple), Nite Owl, Batman (Azbats) (600)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army Test Summary: The Wrecking crew focused so hard on Tick that they neglected to attack everyone else. Also their Wrecking Crew rolls were quite poor, which didn’t help. Arthur didn’t help that much, but not because he wasn’t rolling plenty of dice. He’s a good distraction, especially when boosted by Cap. Map: Custom Units: Arthur, The Tick, Captain America, Archangel (800) Vs. Wrecking Crew
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I think he’s good where he is. He has big potential, but is super fragile. And he’s useless without Tick to bond with (Killer Moth isn’t anything special unless he’s facing glyph characters). But Tick is ALMOST fragile, so you basically don’t want to waste an attack on Arthur when you can just kill Tick and basically make Arthur useless anyway. So if Tick can hold on, Arthur might be able to do some damage. He’s fun. GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: I like him! He definitely has bigger potential, but since he’s so weak and useless without Tick I think it’s fine at 30. The only thing to note is that he’s essentially an auto-draft with Tick now. If you don’t want that to be the case I would raise him a tad. |

Re: The Book of Arthur - Public Playtesting
Arthur and Tick being an auto-draft together seems really right to me, personally, so not a problem in my mind!

Re: The Book of Arthur - Public Playtesting
Spoiler Alert!
NAME OF THE TEST UNIT ( Arthur ) Army Test 1 - Give a brief preview. The Tick & Arthur team up with Oliver & Roy to take down a criminal organization up to no good. The Archers will provide Tick & Arthur some ranged back-up while they lead the charge. In opposition, I wanted to give Arthur someone he might be able to beat up so I grabbed a couple of squads of Street Thugs. For a Crime Lord, I went with a heavy hitter to off set The Tick, Black Tarantula can heal himself and try to outlast The Tick. He also has been blackmailing Parademon to work for him as added muscle, he'll promises to try and heal him too so he doesn't need to blow himself up, but if it comes to that then he's ready to do his part. Map: Swamp Cabin & Dock Units: The Tick, Arthur, Green Arrow, Red Arrow (600) vs. Street Thugs x2, Black Tarantula, Parademon (600)
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: Arthur was able to keep pace with Tick and assisted him in his fight with Parademon, who was charging in trying to blow up all 4 of them if he could. Tick and Arthur intercepted him and kept him away from the Archers, and survived the explosion when he died. A Street Thug then moved up and popped Arthur with one shot. So Arthur didn't get much time to shine, but he did inflict a W on Parademon after The Tick missed him. Tick did deal a W to Parademon later though with a clumsy def roll, the rest was all Red & Green Arrow. Black Tarantula took out Green Arrow with just two shots. Roy hung on longer but Tarantula eventually just rushed him and took him out as well. Meanwhile the Street Thugs were used to tie up Tick, who KO'ed them consistently but not very quickly. Once the Street Thugs were down to one, Tick engaged Tarantula hoping to Spoon!, but Tarantula took him down before he could. - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes, a nice little sidekick for Tick. - What should be the unit's point value? 30 seems fine, he's pretty fragile which means his powers might not even get used. _____________________________________________________________ Army Test 2 - Give a brief preview. Since Arthur isn't a Sidekick but an Accountant, this lets me have him and Tick team up with Rocket & Baby Groot. Baby Groot can thus serve as a back-up bonding partner for Tick once Arthur goes down, while Rocket lends some ranged support. Or alternately, if Tick somehow goes down first, Rocket & Groot can both back up Arthur. Trying to give Arthur someone to punch here again so I grabbed a couple of Rogues, then supported them with Red Skull & Crossbones. The re-rolls on SA's should help Capt. Cold & Heat Wave have a bigger impact. Map: Swamp Cabin & Dock Units: The Tick, Arthur, Rocket Raccoon II, Baby Groot (600) vs. Red Skull II, Crossbones, Capt. Cold, Heat Wave (600)
Spoiler Alert!
Recap: I'm loving how Red Skull makes his minions better! After Crossbones first attack of the game was a full 4 skulls, resulting in 1W on Rocket (next attack was only 2 skulls though), Rory moves up and gets 4 skulls with his flame thrower, giving Rocker another 2W's and cooking poor baby Groot to ashes. Tick and Arthur go back to back, with Tick fighting Crossbones and Arthur punching Heatwave. Tick botched his first attack of the game again in this one, but Arthur rolled a solid 2 skulls. If it weren't for Red Skull letting Rory re-roll 2 dice, he would have scored a W too. Capt. Cold steps up and gets 3 skulls with his SA, thanks to an assist from Red Skull, Tick whiffs on his 1 die def, but the 3W would kill him and he makes his d20 roll and ignores them instead, frustrating Capt. Cold who thought he was going to bond with Heat Wave. Tick yells out Spoon!!!!!, Rocket answers the call with a 3W hit on Heatwave, then Tick immediately knocks out a full life Crossbones. Red Skull puts a pair of W's on Tick, but can't bond with Crossbones so the re-roll are only 1 for this round. Rocket blows up Rory and Tick punches Red Skull for 3W! Capt. Cold can't hit Tick. Tick punches Red Skull again, getting 5 skulls, and Red Skull just barely hangs on by getting 4 shields! This time I elected to bond with Arthur instead of shoot with Rocket, not sure why I just felt I needed to get Arthur involved, and he scored 1W on Capt. Cold! Capt. Cold opts to att Arthur with his SA, not wanting to trigger a clumsy oaf W on Red Skull, deals 2W, no one to bond with though. Now I know why I moved up Arthur at the end of the round, he was In Peril to start this round and helped win initiative. Rocket shoots at Red Skull and he blocks, then Tick gets 3 skulls while att Red Skull and he blocks again! With no re-rolls to be had yet. Red Skull shoots Tick, but Tick rolls a 7! Rocket shoots at Red Skull again, Red Skull blocks with the help of a re-roll this time, so Rocket flies over and drops a bomb at his heat, then blows Red Skull up. Rocket shoots at Capt. Cold and drops a bomb at his feet too. Capt. Cold takes out Tick with just 1 skull rolled!!! Tick falls on Capt. Cold though to give him a W as well. Snart wins initiative, moves away from the bomb Rocket left him last round, then puts down Arthur. Rocket shoots Snart for 1W, then flies past him dropping off his last bomb, blowing it up to finish the game. - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes, he's a fun little add on for Tick. This game was a blast all around. - What should be the unit's point value? I'd say it's spot on at 30 after this one. You couldn't have asked for a closer finish, Rocket with just 1 life left used his last bomb to win the game. Arthur got in a pair of attacks in this one, one of which resulted in a W on Capt. Cold. Then his In Peril! Power helped change initiative once, even though Red Skull survived that opening turn, it felt like it made a difference. Putting Red Skull at a disadvantage by denying him 1 re-roll die. |

Re: The Book of Arthur - Public Playtesting
Nice! Looks like we're good to move to final editing here. I propose we move to Final Editing.
@Karat @SirGalahad anyone else interested in wording checks? Looks like art is still unclaimed as well. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Arthur - Final Editing
Cards look great to me. I'm pretty confident in the wording, especially since most of it is reused, including almost every word in the sidekick power other than Delusional.
So I propose we release Arthur as our C3G Con 2020 Promotional Figure! @tcglkn - yea @Soundwarp SG-1 - yea @Lord Pyre - yea @MrNobody - yea @Arch-vile - @LordVenoc - yea @johnny139 - abstain C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
