The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich
The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich The figure used for this unit is Necrovite from the Starfinder Battles - Galactic Villains set. C3V Wave 23 - Yngvild's Vision - Heroes of the Outlands PDF Download Character Bio: From a new world, Utgar has called forth a new evil: Ataraxis, a starlich summoned from the distant planet Dyer 3. Ataraxis has found her place on Valhalla fighting alongside the Esenweins and their undead armies. Her Terror Enhancement Field amplifies the fear of her enemies a hundred-fold, causing the defenses of even the most stalwart warrior to falter. And should she fall in battle, Ataraxis’s consciousness can be transferred to a new host via nanobot technology, ensuring that the cycle of terror shall never truly end.
Spoiler Alert!

Re: The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich
I have a couple ruling questions:
Correct me if I am wrong, but are these are the best armies to play with them:

In response to B, yes, Ataraxis can be revived multiple times per game via Nanobot Soul Cage. I'm much more confident in my response to B than A, although on both points I would defer to the C3V Rules Team. |

Ataraxis and Zombies of Morindan may be the nastiest Starlich & Squad pair; Terror Enhancement Field plays nicely off of Zombies Rise Again, and Horde Movement allows plenty of chances for Ataraxis to bounce around the battlefield with her Necrotizing Wormhole. What's the rationale behind pairing Ataraxis with Hybrids? |

Re: The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich
She is very fun to play. For your zombie build, you will probably need another unique hero so you have a chance to bring her back.

Re: The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich
When I'm feeling cheeky, I like running the following army.
Ataraxis 160 Wildwood Monarch 140 Wildwood Sentinel 100 Wildwood Runner x3 120 ------------------------------- Total: 520 points / 6 hexes The Wildwoods appreciate Ataraxis' ranged support and provide her with a steady supply of Unique Hero bodies. Admittedly, the combination was more effective before Ataraxis' post-playtesting changes were revealed, as she could immobilize opposing figures with her pseudo-Cyberclaw when they tried to reach your Runners, but it still works well enough. Plus, Necrotizing Wormhole can be convenient for finishing off a 1-Life Monarch on OM3 and refreshing the cycle sooner. |

@Ulysses Amusingly you list Torin in the benefits received, but Torin is also a Terrifying figure, so should also be in the benefits offered list. Also the Torin link goes to Ornak for some reason.
Specters of Aldorn also pair very well with her. My Custom Designs.

Re: The Book of Ataraxis the Starlich
Quick Question
If a Unique Hero is destroyed by and attack in which the attacking figure occupies the space of the destroyed figure ( ie: pounce, Wolves of Badru) which action will happen as both powers indicate, Immediately? I am Assuming that the attacking figure takes precedence since Ataraxis' card states " if possible" Wolves of Badru POUNCE SPECIAL ATTACK Range 3. Attack 5. A Wolf of Badru that moved but did not attack normally may use Pounce Special Attack. To pounce, choose a non-adjacent small or medium figure whose base is not higher or lower than 5 levels from the base of the attacking Wolf. If the figure is destroyed, immediately place the attacking Wolf on the space the figure occupied. If the figure is not destroyed, destroy the attacking Wolf. Ataraxis the Starlich NANOBOT SOUL CAGE When Ataraxis is destroyed, you may remove all wound markers from this card and place Ataraxis on the card of any Unique Hero within 5 spaces of Ataraxis. For the entire game, if a Unique Hero with your Ataraxis on its card is destroyed by a normal or special attack or a leaving engagement attack, immediately place Ataraxis on a space the destroyed figure occupied, if possible. |
