750 pt Army

What units should I include in a 750 point army?
(ok, it can't go over the limit by more than 20 points.)

Trons are always my favorite army:

Q9
Q10
Glads x3
Blasts x3

I would take that against just about anything. If you want to keep it within 24 spaces, trade out one of each of the squads for Zetacron and Raelin.

Better would be:

240 Gladiatrons x3
120 Blastarons x2
80 Raelin RotV
110 Laglor
180 Major Q9
730, 24 hexes

First, set up the aura figures in nice high spots. If facing deathreavers or 4th/10th/Ashigaru, go to work with Q9. Otherwise, go 'tron crazy and save Q9 for cleanup.

This also seems like a decent point level for snipers:

65 Shotgun Sullivan
300 Omnicron Snipers x3
120 Deathreavers x3
80 Raelin RotV
180 Taelord
745, 24 hexes

Shotgun Sullivan is basically filler, but he does give you a ranged special attack. Zetacron takes you over 24 hexes.

You could go snipersx4 and deathreavers x2, but I think the extra blockers are pretty valuable in this army.

I think I'd take Zetacron less the reaver here, given his synergy with Taelord.

That is a nice army. I think the only difference here is our playing style. For me, Laglor would only boost Q9. I like to keep the blats close enough to the fray that if I get low on glads, I can move one blast adjacent to an enemy figure so that at least the other three blasts get one more attack dice each that turn.

750 is the sweet spot for points between too restrictive for many units (such as flagbearers) and too many, in my opinion. I play weekly with Chas, and we play at 750 points 99% of the time. That being said (sure, you could play Nilf, 2 x rats, Cyprien, Sonja, Q-9 and Isamu . . . zzzz, although that might be what you're after), I'd play the following:

150 Major Q-10
140 Deathwalker 9000
120 Raelin v2
120 Krug
110 Ninjas of the North Wind
110 Dund
750

I think that would be a tough matchup for you, because you would have a hard time mustering more than 2 attacks per turn consistently. Against G&Bs, you need to be able to tie up the glads on blocking units, and out-shoot the blasts - preferably both.

Dund could ruin a round for me if you got lucky, though, and DW9k could keep me from swarming figures (other than DW9k) too badly, lest you shoot Krug with an explosion attack. But I don't think those tactical advantages would make up for how many fewer attack dice you would roll.
