Re: Shifting Realms by Craig & Jeff Van Ness

Fully backed this one and really excited. I had a play through at Gencon and loved the game. It screams Craig Vanness design when you play it. As far as his brother, also finally got a chance to meet him, just a really nice guy who also makes me believe my money is well spent and the commitments will be fulfilled.

Full disclosure, Craig is a personal friend and has been for years, but one thing I am not is a shill. If I didnít like the game I would just stay quiet. The game though really had depth and variety that will bring it back to the table again and again. I loved the Warcraft PC games growing up, this absolutely reminded me of them. Good stuff all around.

Whoo! 101% already! It's very satisfying to see this game finally get the widespread attention it deserves.
I was planning on backing the game over my lunch hour, until I saw how few named pledges were left. Had to make sure my name got on the box!

Thanks Dark_Stranger and all the Heroscapers for backing! We can't wait to start shipping the game.

Re: Shifting Realms by Craig & Jeff Van Ness

Much, much improved. Really glad they went with relaunching it.

Disappointing about the lack of stretch goals though. Stretch goals don't have to mean "kickstarter exclusive". How about increasing the component quality or adding in a few extra card/tiles/whatever to ALL versions, retail included?

Looking for a way to get casual players involved in Heroscape? Do your opponents lack the interest or knowledge to build/draft their own armies? If so, check out Project 500!

Yup. I really like the explanation for why no KS exclusive. But if the KS can support higher quality cards or board components or something, then why not? It'll drive traffic, too, if there's a goal there.

My 2 cents. I'm already in, and glad for it, but I want the campaign to be as successful as possible for *you guys*, C&J, and if there's a way to improve the components while we're at it, then that's a win/win. As I see it.

Re: Shifting Realms by Craig & Jeff Van Ness

Unless they don't want to drive the retail cost up after the kickstarter.

(I say this as somebody who has no knowledge of game production and about 3 business acumen on a scale of 1-20).

Increasing component quality will increase the price to make each game and we feel we already have quality components. Including extra cards requires play testing and it can give a perception that the game isn't as good without the extra cards. Stretch goals can be a tough nut to crack.
