Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

I played with the KoW for the first time last night. I have to say, they are much better than I could have guessed. I can tell, though, that any argument about whether they can be killed by Isamu (or any other figure) misses the point.

Their attack and defense stats are respectable, but what makes them good is the three magic words, Human Champion Bonding. I drafted a mostly Valliant army, and was able to bond them with all three Viking "spirit" champions, as well as Sir Denrick. However, they seemed to be at their best when bonding with Alastair MacDirk, allowing up to 6 attacks from one order marker, totaling up to 22 attack dice! Truly, truly sick.

Jazzman,

And that 22 dice is without height, too! Don't miss the defense component, either. Four defense is a magic number in HS. It means that you have decent survivability vs. three attack. Of the four figure common squads, only the KoW and the Rats have four defense. You'll note that both are very highly rated units.

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

If you can track him down, Sir Gilbert is also very potent with the Knights. He gives them extra often unpredictable movement, which can help them close the distance much easier, or even move figures from the rear lines that you won't activate. I'd say he's the best of the Human Champions, at least for the Knights.

Too bad there haven't been any tournaments allowing that large an army, so far.

There aren't even any tournaments around here my dad's willing to drive all the way out to. But that's why there's casual.

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

I recently have gotten another pack of this for christmas. I am loving them! A pretty decent and fun army is...
2 KoW
Sir Hawthorne
Sir Dupius
Airborne Elite
Ten point filler (most likely isamu)
500

With Sir Hawthorne The KoW can end up having 5+ attacks.

You do know that they don't bond with duplius, right. Sounds like a fun army though.

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

That's probably why he didn't mention bonding with him. However, he is an awesome hero killer when near the knights.

Now through May 28th, the Louisville region is in desperate need of platelets - call the Red Cross if you are interested in donating!

Yes, I do know that they don't bond with dupius. He is awesome support though incase I run into a brickwall that the knights of weston might have trouble with.

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

One fun army to use with the knights:

Knights x3 210
Gilbert 105
Dupuis 150
Eldgrim 30
Total 495

Send the knights out with Gilbert, and as soon as Gilbert gets killed, send Eldgrim out on a suicide mission, killing everything he can before he dies. Clean up with 3-4 knights and Dupuis.

Gotta love them knights.

Re: The Book of Knights of Weston

Is it worth it to buy a squad for $10? I don't have any and I have an offer for $10 plus $5 for shipping. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
