This game is currently in Alpha, it is also currently free. You can purchase the game for like $20 to support development.

In short, StarMade is a cross between Eve and Minecraft. Physics engine, space exploration, simple and complex building and weapons systems, multiplayer servers, and perhaps best of all, a responsive development team that listens to the community.

I've been following it for over a year, and I have been waiting until I finish my gaming computer (this fall, likely) to start learning again. The community is growing, and the creative community is phenomenal.
