Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Hmmm...I hadn't considered the card pic. I was just thinking the art space would be covered up with the floor plan for placing the figures on. Maybe a real simple arts and craft project then? I mean it really just needs to be a box with a door on it.

Re: The Book of Skyscraper - Public Playtesting
C3G STANDARD MAP PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE MAP TESTED (C3GCon Terrain Workshop Skyscraper) - OVERALL LOOK/THEME TEST/ Let us know if the map’s theme comes across effectively or not, how visually appealing it is or is not to you, etc. Pass - STABILITYTEST/Any issues you find with the map’s ability to hold together during game play and/or the feasibility to moving the map around from table to floor or from car to event. Pass, don't lean on the skyscraper though! - BUILD DIFFICUTLY/ Was it hard to follow the directions or figure out where pieces go? No - SIZE IMPACT/ How big is the map when fully assembled in comparison to other maps you enjoy playing on? Does the map’s size have any negative or positive ramifications? Medium & Tall, flying ranged units seem to have an early advantage, but then those same units can suffer once the fight moves in doors. Real team work is needed to help open up the windows to give those ranged fliers easier access to the different floors. - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the map was fun to play on. Pass, this was quite fun while providing a different kind of gaming experience. - COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the map would best be a competitive, casual, or scenario based map (more than one option can be listed). Please explain why you feel that way. I would say it works for all 3. Casual, Competitive, & Scenario. Scenario is the best set up IMO, as you can create win conditions and objectives located through out the buildings that will encourage full immersion of the terrain. Casual is also an easy play, then you can use or not use them however much you want to. Competitive is viable, but would take a few trial run games for new players to get better acquainted with the change in meta-game. Currently without any update to extreme falling rules, unlimited flying up, and super high ground 2 dice bonus, new players can be taken by surprise at these otherwise little used effects. Once you've learned the risk/reward of having your figure on the edge of a building roof though, things can get real competitive. - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the map offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Yes, as mentioned in the last response several seldom used rules and powers suddenly take on new life leading to all kinds of new strategies. Also the team work mentioned above is a nice bonus IMO as allies are now working together to make the most of what the map offers. One figure is using an attack to knock out windows, so another unit can get inside quicker. -Unit types positively affected: Ranged units, flying units, carry units, units with powers that can move opponents figures, units that get a bonus move at the end of their turn, figures who can attack without needing clear sight. -Unit types negatively affected: Not sure I would say any here. Slow moving ground pounders are hurt early on, just like on every map, but then they can use the elevator to move up floors fairly quickly and being inside the building takes away from those ranged units on the roof from targeting them, so it balances out as the game goes on. -Key areas on the Map: First floor & roof naturally see the most action. -Areas not used much or at all: Middle floors can be less attractive when no objectives are located on them. 2nd floor windows still provide high ground shots on people in the street without having to go all the way up to the roof though. _____________________________________________________________ Army Test 1 - Does it pass, Yes or No? yes Units: King Kong, Kick Ass, & Selene (800/Tickle) vs. Silver Surfer, Blade, Shadowcat II (800/Yodaking), vs. Wrecking Crew (800/Bats) vs. Spider-Man, Cable, Quicksilver, Jubilee(?) (800/Lord Pyre).
Spoiler Alert!
FINAL THOUGHTS - Playing a game on the buildings was a lot of fun! We really had a great time finding out a guy like Wrecker could be extra dangerous on these maps. We really wanted to explore the different mechanics we had come up with for the stairs, elevators, and windows so shying away from lots of fliers or teleport types was intentional. Silver Surfer shouldn't have been included as a result, but it was a fun game none-the-less and we did indeed make use of the stairs, elevator, & window mechanics so a successful test of the rules. Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Spidey got all the black ones.
We'll definitely need to split the elevator into its own book and link it in the Skyscraper thread. But it should be a VDO that's usable in other buildings if we want as well. I'll research possible figures, but I'm not against the idea of just using a two hexer flipped over to mark it. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
I would vastly prefer this for the card at the very least. Even if you end up using a piece of terrain in practice you’ll need something to card that looks correct.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
That's fair. I'm going to look for something I can purchase, though. If someone's willing to mod something up, I'm open to that, but won't count on it.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Potential? What do you think? I could see it kind of looking like the front of an elevator with the doors shut. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
