The Book of Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw)
The Book of Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw) C3G DC SUPER SECRET EXCLUSIVE 78 FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS: FREAKY FRIDAY Comic PDF Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Origin set. Its model number and name are #064, #065, and #066 / Cyborg Superman. ______________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Hank Henshaw is a brilliant scientist who, after blaming the loss of his wife on Superman, became the villain Cyborg Superman. Henshaw eventually made his way to Sector 3601, to Biot, the homeworld of the Manhunters, where he became their new Grandmaster. He gathered many Green Lanterns who were previously thought to be dead and used them as power sources for his new model of Manhunters, the Highmasters. However, Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner discovered his operation. Jordan and Arisia combined the might of their power rings with one of the Highmasters, destroying the organic portion of Henshaw's body and most of Biot. Later, Henshaw and his Manhunters headed to Earth to assist the Sinestro Corps in their attack. En route, Henshaw stopped leading the Manhunters, which continued to their pre-programmed destinations. As he watched them go, he remembered everything that had happened to him; from their dreadful shuttle accident to his wife's suicide. He finished this journey of his mind by going to his wife's grave. He dug her corpse out and ripped it into two, shouting that all he wanted was not to be with her, but for his memories to fade. - DC Wikia _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

SECRET IDENTITY = HANK HENSHAW SPECIES = CYBORG UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = DESTROYER PERSONALITY = NIHILIST SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 7 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = 430 KRYPTONIAN DNA This Yellow Lantern has the species of Kryptonian in addition to the species listed on this card. When this Yellow Lantern rolls defense dice against a normal attack from a figure that is not a Kryptonian, if at least one shield is rolled, all blanks rolled count as extra shields. YELLOW POWER BLAST SPECIAL ATTACK Range 4. Attack 3 + Special. Start the game with 4 yellow Battery Markers on this card. Before attacking with this special attack, remove a yellow Battery Marker from this card. Roll 1 additional attack die for each yellow Battery Marker on this card. Re: The Book of Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw) - Design Phase
You know I approve.
The only thing I could see changing is possibly upping his Life to 7. I think it'd be plenty thematic for him to come in around Superman I or II area. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

The "if possible" means he can still use Yellow Power Blast when he's out of markers.

to +1 Life. That could be a concern, although... The text is already pretty wordy as is, and I'm pretty sure just from a Google image search he could replicate a 3 range 3 attack blast on his own. Then again, I don't know the character tremendously well. If I recall correctly, the above only just fits on a card. Can you defeat a mind such as mine?

What wordiness were you thinking of adding? If you don't want it to be possible to use without markers, just drop the "if possible".

Bah, misunderstood, apologies. That change would be fine with me.

There are places to trim text.

Re: The Book of Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw) - Design Phase
Personally, I'd completely cut out the "come back to life" part of Manhunter Grandmaster; I know people we're arguing for it for thematic reasons, but I don't like it on there because: 1) it's a lot of text that takes up a lot of space, 2) it adds a third (and complex) mechanic to a single power which it doesn't even seem to fit into (the first two parts of Manhunter Grandmaster interact with the Manhunting power; this part doesn't at all), 3) it makes a tough unit even tougher, making him arguably annoying to face.
Even without that part he'd be a fun and very unique design. SirG: Kryptonian DNA is an existing power, and I believe your suggested wording strays from the existing power. As to Yellow Power Blast SA, I personally like it that he can continue to use it even after he's out of batteries (with it staying at 3 range and 3 attack); it represents him still being able to use his eye beams. Re: The Book of Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw) - Design Phase
I agree with V about Manhunter Grandmaster. Currently, it should be split into two powers.
I don't care one way or the other about the Eye Beams. I just want to make sure the power matches the intent. |
