I came up with this when building armies for our 440 tourney on NHSD. Obviously I can't play it, but it's amazing what just an extra 5 points can get into your army.

Cap/Krav/Raelin is just pure nasty at 400 points - I've had a heck of a time beating that in 400 point army tests. Adding the Marros does seem like a natural step, given your army set. I haven't tested that army but I assume it would do pretty well.

The best TKN army I can think of with your set at 450 is either TKN + grubsx3 + AE + Eldgrim, or TKN + grubsx3 + Raelin + Marro Warriors + Isamu. Both look really solid to me.

Although I have 3 x Grubs in the pool, I really only have 2 in hand. I discovered this after i created my pool.

Sorry to semi-necro this thread, but I am looking at running a big Heroscape event at a small convention in late January, and have been looking at 450 point armies. The players there will probaly all be noobs, so I am not looking for a Gencon Champ army. Here is what I have already. I need x2 for Utgar and Jandar and x1 for the other generals, including Aquilla.

I picked this build for flavor, and for the power that new players will feel when they run this huge group of soldiers down the map, mowing down all in their path. I know its has archers, but they price well for the army.

I know that this may seem a better army if I went all dwarves or all indians, but I feel that the players will be better off with a strong range and strong melee group, instead of a superb in either of those categories. It also fits the Aquilla bill nicely, using some of the new units together. Plus, Migol has a Gorilla shield.

This army hits the spot perfectly for points. It also keeps a strong theme, with a good range and good melee, as long as Kyntela Gwyn keeps up. Sonlen is a good rouge character for this army, as he can take out enemies that stray to far from the fight.

Although short by 10 points, it is packed full of flavor. The repulsors will sit well as semi-melee troops, and the Snipers will excel on the map, due to the huge castle in the middle.

I used an army similar to this last year, but was limited to x1 4th Mass. This year, I plan to bring some more for a stronger force. The reason for Concan instead of another Champion, is because last year, he went on a rampage, killing about 20 figures in an onslaught that brought him the title of "Bearer of the Chainsword!"

Although it is the shortest on points, it was a lethal army at the event last year. The speed of the wolves, and the pounce ability cause their threat range to be that of a decent range unit. I liked this army last year as well, and want to see them star again.

This army was different last year, consisting of x1 of Blades and Arrows and including Tornak, but with the Wave 1 rerelease, I was able to throw together a better force. The only possibilty I could think of changing it is getting rid of the heavy gruts for some more arrows and a swog. But the Heavys do form a strong melee force that isn't mearly cannon fodder.

Give me some ideas guys. I don't need armies that are spectacular, but ones that follow a single general, are themed, and don't exceed x3 commons.

I think you should ditch the MotH and add Knights of Weston x2 (if you have them - if not, I'd seriously consider borrowing them. Knights x3 is way, way, way better than Knights x1 and a MotH), and then decide between Frosty and Eltahale. Or instead of adding 2 more Knight squads, add 1 more and a 60 Pointer (Zetacron or Marro Warriors + Isamu) and upgrade Denrick to Gilbert (if you have him).

I personally prefer Eltahale because you might really need her special attack.

At Florida Frenzy 4.0 earlier in October, I used Cyprien, Sonya and Stingers at 400 points. So how about:
Vampires and Marro
Cyprien----150
Sonya----195
Stingers x4----435
Isamu----445
Stingers can take the squads on and Cyprien can take the Heroes. Sonya will boost him. Once all is gone, Isamu can take on Jandar and hopefully anyone else left.
