Is there a limit to how many Primal Rage markers Primeape starts a game with, or do the markers begin life off the card?

IMO, Primeape should have only one Primal Rage Marker that is placed/moved to the card of the last figure that wounded Primeape. It's a blind rage. Primeape wouldn't stop and try to decide if he'll attack the Stingers that wounded him last round or the Drudge that wounded him this round. He's going after the Drudge because that attack is fresh in his mind.

Revised wording, per mac's suggestion:

Whenever a figure inflicts a wound on this Primeape, place its Primal Rage Marker on that figure's army card. This Primeape must move and attack a figure with its Primal Rage marker on its card, if possible.
Whenever this Primeape attacks a figure with a Primal Rage Marker on its card, it rolls 2 additional attack dice.

PUNISHMENT
This Primeape may move an additional 2 spaces if doing so allows it to end his movement adjacent to a figure with its Primal Rage Marker on its card.
If this Primeape engages a figure this turn, you may change this Primeape's normal attack to Dark Type when attacking that figure.
I like it either way. 1 marker, or multiple markers, Primeape attacks figures that wounded it.

Yes, it's blind rage. But it must still remember who wounded it. I see it as keeping a mental list of figures it wants to take revenge on.

I'll vote for Primeape either way: 1 marker or multiple markers.

That's a good point. What's the situation with multiple Primeapes? Is there just one Primal Rage marker per team or does each Primeape get its own?

I made sure it said "an enemy figure" in the original wording, just in case the other team had a Primeape. With multiple Primeape's on your team, I'm OK having them take revenge for wounds to ANY Primeape (that is, the markers work for all Primeapes).

I'm thinking just one marker per team with a Primeape, but any Primeape can deal Punishment damage to the last figure that received the Primal Rage marker. That would give it a more pack-like feeling, with each Primeape sticking out for each others' necks.

I'd also be fine with each Primeape having their own marker, and being able to attack only to get the Punishment bonus for figures with that Primeape's marker. This, of course, could get very confusing.

If it's one marker, what if it returned to that Primeape's card after it destroyed the targeted figure? If it kills Agent Carr in a fit of rage and something else attacks him, he'll get mad at that thing. It also gives a middle ground between one marker and multiple markers.

Wasn't thinking about multiple Primeapes. I would think each Primeape should have its own marker. I wouldn't think my Primeape on the left side of the map would have rage against a figure that wounded my Primeape on the right. They could be marked the same way you would mark your multiple Uncommon Hero Primeapes to tell them apart.

I agree. This is what I had in mind when coming up with that power. Whats worse than one enraged Primeape? A whole army of enraged Primeapes is.

Clarifications:
1) Primeape starts the game with an unlimited number of Primal Rage Markers, but it probably won't need more than 5 (unless it gets healing). All Primeape get a bonus versus enemy figures with Primal Rage markers on their cards.

2) No more than 1 Primal Rage marker can be place on an army card, since there is no bonus for 2 or more markers.

3) Shed Skin does not shed Primal Rage markers.
We've had plenty of time to discuss and comment on Primeape. I know some of you don't like using markers. But since minimoose likes the markers in this case, and they are thematic, I think I'm OK with keeping them. In one-on-one Pokemon battles (with only 6 total Pokemon in your army), the markers won't interfere much at all.

I vote YES to Primeape v2.0 at 130 points.
