Minas tirith

I have seen some amazing maps on this site, and I have seen massive maps, too. Grishnkha's Helm's deep, for example, was amazing. Lyrcoz's Mines of Moria were also awesome. I do believe however that therer is one map that needs to be made. Minas tirith, Jewel of gondor.

Now, Im not sure who would have enough to build this mamoth, but here are what i think may be some good approximations on requirements:

10+ master sets for the great big pinnacle abutting from a mountain

10+ castles (for the seven gates and all the walls and other tiles. The outer walls would all have to be two deep to represent thickness the second wall would need to be 2-3 levels high, and would need to be like a plateu. the third wall would only need to be one thick and one high, as would the rest, but following the platue them, so that the time you got to the pinacle, it would be 70-80 hexes high.

The ENTIRE inside would have to be lined with road hexes, so a load of RTTFF would be helpful. The basic layout is on
http://www.tuckborough.net/minastirith.html

A low inclanated lengthy ramp would lead up to each succesive gate.

As far as point costs go, if you actually wanted to do a battle:

There were 200,000 orcs, translate that into points, and you get, well nearly 1,000,000 points. so, in order to cut it down to an actual playable size, 20,000 points for the evil team. BEFORE YOU JUMP ON ME SAYING THATS TOO BIG, consider that you have them come out in waves of 2-3,000 points. you can have one of each hero, but many tornaks for generals, and lots of swogs to represent wargs, as well as lots of heavy gruts. Krug could be common, but only allowed one per wave, to represent trolls.

6,000 Gondorians in Minas Tirith, a couple hundred to even thousands from the garrison of Osgiliath, less than 3,000 soldiers from the fiefdoms of Gondor , 6,000 Rohirrim, 30 Rangers of the North, Elladan and Elrohir, Gimli, and Legolas and later 4,000 to 6,000 Men of south Gondor under Angbor of Lamedon

thats 15,000, but ill round up to 20,000 for fairness's sake. 20,000 participants, not points. That gives the good side 2,000 points. aside from that, they have seven castle gates to fall back to, so they aren't that outnumbered.

I would suggest a heavily roman army (for point and cohesiveness), with knights of weston intermingled. Elves are also needed. I would suggest 500 points extra for just elves.

Bear in mind the reinforcements they get later, thats 600 points of pure templar madness. those would come in later in the game, though, around when the evil side got up to the third level, or if the evil team was down to 6,000 points.

SOOOOO. that all being said, do you think this is doable?

Theophilus.

I have a lot of stuff out for use. I don't think I could come close to that.

I would guess the big problem will be getting enough walls and elevation for the center area.

It could be done, but it would be a challenge.

Yes, a Minas Tirith map would be awesome to see, but not really playable and nearly impossible to build.

I started making this in the map builder several months ago and never finished it. After 12 Masters, 8 Castles, not even making it past level 1 after 5 hours of work and realizing it would have be a 12'x12' table I gave up.

You could make up a mini tribute styled map using like 6 Castles and 7 Masters but it would take TIME!

My mind is the Pink Zippo that sits on top of a pack of Camel Wides.

I am currently working on this. Without the mountain I'm up to 25 mastersets and it will take probably at LEAST another 10. Also it uses 30 Fota.
