I see Doombot's SP was updated in 2019, and Skrull Infiltrator's in 2021, but it doesn't look like it was related to this interaction.

To help organize the discussion about how Contingency powers work, and whether or not they trigger upon the destruction of the figure with the power:

Lex's Contingency had a brief discussion about the wording, which seems to be the basis for the changes in wording for Captain Cold and Big Man. Although I'm unsure what the intent was for those two cards, seems that Lex's was meant to work like Batman's.

I'm also unsure what the intent was for Kelex's Contingency.
Black Widow's Avengers Contingency puts OMs onto her card, so it's different. Brainiac 13's Contingency Program is its own thing as well.

So I suppose the question is, are you folks ok with there being some Contingencies that work like Oracle's and some that work like Batman's, or should they all be streamlined to work like Batman?

For whatever else could be said, I think, for figures that have Contingency Plans, not having them be able to plan for their own destruction is dumb.

Fwiw the original Contingency Plan power was on Oracle and was never intended to trigger on her death and, as far as I know, was never used that way in testing. I think how things were tested and used in testing other things matters more than subjective thoughts on theme.

Lex was never tested as working when he died, I looked over those tests. Big Man was certainly not intended to save his own OMs.

That’s incorrect Tickle. Lex was absolutely tested as being able to remove his own OMs. It never came up in his tests, but the rest of the Injustice League was tested around that ruling because the question came up in Lex’s thread, and at that time it was ruled that the Contingency worked with Lex died. (It really doesn’t matter for him though, as he’s usually a start zone sitter.)

Captain Cold is a design where it matters. All the recent Rogues were tested as if Cold can move his own OMs after death. It’d be a moderate nerf to Cold if it worked otherwise.
