S.H.I.E.L.D. Jetpack (flying glyph)

Equipment Glyph
When a figure is equipped with the S.H.I.E.L.D. Jetpack that figure gains flying and is always considered to have height advantage on non-flying figures.

Giving any figures easy flying (And aerial advantage) is pretty powerful. Just imagine Punisher with permanent height advantage and flying. I would probably restrict to Agents, or give it some sort of fuel (Or both). Like start with 2-3 markers, and if you use flying remove a marker. Once you're out of markers it's useless.

Well, it’s flying and height advantage until they take a single hit, and then they lose it. Definitely strong, but doesn’t seem unbeatable or anything.

It's hard for Nightwing to take a single hit, even without getting +1 defense against all non-flying figures.

Yeah it might be fine, but any way to blanket give everyone flying, much less height advantage seems tricky to balance properly across our whole library.

I thought about markers for uses/charges but like Nobody said 1 wound and its gone.

Would you still think it was too strong if it had 2 to 3 uses but couldn't be lost by wounding?

Or would it make more sense as a VDO? Then it would have a point cost and a certain amount of life.

Making it targetable outside of the figure would definitely help. But at the same time, making it draftable means you can auto attach it to Punisher right from the start rather than racing to grab it from the board or however else you get it in play.

Yes, one damage and it's gone, but still, our figures are balanced around having flying or not. This could be a huge boost to some armies. Maybe not quite game-breaking but it could be close at times. Like I wouldn't want to move forward without our more competitive minded folks like Soundwarp or Dysole chiming in. Especially if there's plans on making a design that would start the game with it or something. If the plan is to never reference it so it only starts as a random board glyph, that's not as bad. But the fact that it's specifically named a Shield jetpack makes me think you want agents to use it or start with it somehow eventually.

A no cover VDO would be pretty interesting! And you could basically have it so you put it on the operator's card, but they're considered an occupant of the vehicle (so if you overkill the jet pack, they take damage). Cool risk/reward there.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

I hear what you are saying it does have the ability to be pretty strong. Maybe just an equipment glyph 1 time use makes the most sense. Used at the right time it could be strong but not game breaking

But set it at 1 or 2 life. Possible falling damage? Or explosion on impact?

Yeah, I'd set it at 1 or 2 life and 3 defense and make the figure take falling damage if it's destroyed.
