The image edges aren't that neat. How have you achieved the image?

How I would've done it:

• Create a layer folder
• In the folder have 2 layers. The "spacey" image as the bottom layer. The hex pattern as the top layer.
• With the hex layer active, using the Magic Wand Select tool, set on contiguous & anti-aliasing off, holding the CTRL key select each empty hex space not required to be seen.
• Once the selection has been made make the folder the active layer & invert the selection (CTRL + SHIFT + I) then click on the mask button.
• Now click on the newly created mask to make it the active layer.
  At this point the hexes of the "spacey" background will no longer be visible leaving the hex pattern still visible over this white space.
• Unselect everything (CTRL + D). (It might already have done this automatically - i cant remember full functionality off the top of my head.)
• Now make the hex pattern layer active again.
• With the Magic Wand Select tool, select inside one hex shape.
• Make the Folder layers Mask the active layer again.
• Now with the Rectangle Select tool active, move the hex selection shape so that goes along the outside edge of a hex pattern & covers the rest of the pattern that shouldn't be there. (you move it around the mouse but can get a more precise position with the arrow keys.)
• Using the Brush tool set to black, colour over those pesky lines. The selection box is so you don't accidentally colour over the parts you need.
• Keep moving the selection hex around the outside of all hexes that the edge the hexes you want to keep & colour out those lines you don't want.

Because you are using the hex shape, you will be able to position the selection to match the angle of the lines of the hex & thus giving you the correct exterior shape.

This may look like a lot but I have been verbose & once you start you will see that you can achieve a clean result here in just a few minutes.

I would say that not all will, I bet some people like @IAmBatman will just print it out & leave it at that until there is a need to have more than one Astral Plane together.

As far as the instructions go, i wrote them pretty verbose so that once you are in PS you should be able to follow them quite easily.

Without a Tether
At the end of each Player's turn, any figure you control that is occupying the Astral Plane and does not have a Tether on the battlefield is automatically destroyed.
