Categorizing customs (how do you do it?)
Anyone thought of a good system on how to categorize customs?
I'd like to see some distinciton between the different levels of customs. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about: Chameleon Class: These customs look like they were straight out of an official expansion. Licsensed Characters like Superman, Wolverine, Frodo, or Jean Luc Picard need not apply. Also, these figures should be limited to 3 special abilities, no more than 300 points, and should use as few new concepts as possible. They also must use the existing 5 Valkyrie generals. Attack, Defense, Move, Range and Life should all be under 10. Import Class: This one is for Superman, Dr. Doom and the unique squad The Gilmore Girls. If its liscensed and then imported, it goes here. One Man Army Class: Any figure worth 301 point and above goes here. Hasbro is unlikely to make any figures that are over 300 points. Also, these superfigures don't really go with the flow of traditional heroscape gameplay (more than one unit per army). Broken class: Umm, some customs go here. Your 10 point common hero with 8 attack, 5 defense and 6 move? There aren't too many of these that get posted, but they are worth mentioning. Alterscape class: What would HS look like if you reinvented it? Just like Chameleon class, except they don't really fit. Units that are gory, demonic or just silly might go here. Also, if your robots are called something other than soulborg, or you make references in your special powers to other non-official powers, your unit probably goes here. Well, I was just brainstorming. Is there a good way to classify customs? |
