Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting
quozl,
Well, that was way back in the first computer days! I think my only hard copy was damaged in an attic because of rain one day. If I come across it somewhere in an old files, I'll post it up for you. I tried to keep backups of everything, but you're talking late 1970s early 1980s here. Some of the early wargames magazines were transferred to online access later, but those sites seem to be gone these days. |

You may be able to find them on the internet archive site. It's got images of all sorts of websites that are no longer extant, including some of the weirder ones, like furnitureporn.com, which was a parody website that lampooned cheesy 1970's porn using furniture instead of people ("Hot Louis XIV bondage action!").

Like most new games I think it will take a few games to really develop some solid tactics with the first game being filled with lots of trial and error. My first game of Blood Rage went so bad for me, I only finished with something like 19 points, but I learned a lot just from seeing how things played out for me as well as the other players. Then I believe I won the my second game with over 100 points. |

I figured that if the RS doesn't live up to the hype (and I think it will be a great game), at least the miniatures will be awesome and there are plenty of good games I can use those miniatures.

Yeah, I'm equally excited for the miniatures as I am for the game itself. I could use those figures for many other games if I wanted.

There will be lots of replayability in Rising Sun, playing up to 6 of the 8 clans (if you get the expansion), alternate sets of season cards that can be rotated in and out, different monsters or Lucky Gods in the mix, and etc.

Well met! Looks like a decided improvement over Blood Rage. Looking forward to playing it. |

srmalloy,
Do you have a link to this Internet Archive Site? Sounds interesting... For several years I did a column in the old MWAN magazine on 54mm minis called "Those Fightin' Fifty Fours." I like to think that I had a part in the revival of the One True Scale, aka Toy Soldiers. Kolakoski, Yeah, besides quite interesting and different rules, this game is providing almost double the number of minis seen in Blood Rage too, and they're not done yet... |

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting
This is it folks, only 3 days left for Rising Sun!
Since this is the big final 48 hours coming up for my first CMON KS, I understand that it gets pretty crazy, and that we can expect a whole bunch of new Stretch Goals just at the end. Its been lots of fun, and I can understand how people can get hooked on KS, but I'll remain a very discrete participant. Some more experienced posters on the KS discussion page (as opposed to the huge number of new threads appearing on bgg in the last two weeks) have said its the most interesting and successful one yet! Let's hope some interesting things come up about the game in the intervening year as it undergoes final development, until actual publication. Until then, we can always play more BLOOD RAGE. |

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting
I'm beyond pumped. I wonder if they'll cross 4 mil. Those minis are drop dead gorgeous (even if they only look half as good as In the resins)and seems if you back the Kickstarter you'll get 80+ in total for the 100$ and shipping. That's a lot of paint projects for me to take on lol. I'm so excited.
If you've ever back CMON before they always give the last stretch goal despite not hitting it, but I think we might hit 4 mil. Spread Positivity and the joys of gaming. Last edited by Shades fan; March 31st, 2017 at 05:15 PM. |
