I'm pretty sure this is correct. I think the ruling we came up with is when it's preceded by a name labeling the marker that marker is just a descriptive of the object & not part of the name & therefore not required to be capitalised.

All other JL designs use a capital M.

Probably a case where we did it one way for a long time, then realized we should do it the other way, without going through the trouble of updating every instance for something so small.

An additional source for the same figure is Icons #047-048 / Superman (046-048, including the figure already listed).
