Character Bio - Sam and his older brother, Dean are supernatural hunters who fight supernatural monsters and creatures. He is the son of John Winchester and Mary Campbell, and despite trying to have a normal life, became a supernatural hunter like his father. Unlike Dean, Sam is more book smart and studies how to trap and kill supernatural creatures. In addition, Sam gains supernatural powers after being fed demon blood.

DEMONIC PRECOGNITION
After rolling defense dice for Sam Winchester or any Slayer figure you control within 5 clear sight spaces of Sam, add one automatic shield to the roll. If the attacking figure is a Demon or Undead figure, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card to add two automatic shields instead.

HUNTER’S TRAPS
At the beginning of the game you may choose one unique Hunter or Slayer hero you control to be Sam Winchester’s partner. After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Sam, you may move his partner. Enemy figures that started their movement within 5 spaces of Sam or his partner may not move more than 3 spaces.

DEMONIC PRECOGNITION
After rolling defense dice for Sam Winchester or any Hunter or Slayer figure you control within 3 clear sight spaces of Sam, add one automatic shield to the roll. If the attacking figure is Demon or Undead, you may reveal the X Order Marker on this card to make it two automatic shields instead.

I think it would prevent it for a period, but don't think it can be maintained forever. Honestly not sure, but definitely something to keep an eye on.

If it's end game and it's like Sam vs. Wolverine on a flat enough map, Sam could just keep moving to 5 spaces away on his turn and unless there was an initiative switch, Wolverine couldn't do anything.

Might work better for the traps to cause an auto wound rather than stymying movement?

Free attack sounds like a Dean thing, but I like that idea.

HUNTER’S TRAPS
For every space an enemy figure moves within 3 spaces of Sam Winchester or his partner, roll one unblockable die against that figure.

HUNTER’S TRAPS
Enemy figures must subtract 2 from their Move number if they would start their move within 5 spaces of Sam Winchester or his partner.

HUNTER’S TRAPS
Enemy figures may not use the Flying special power within 5 spaces of Sam Winchester or his partner.

The warding that Sam and Dean employ usually completely prevents specific creatures from crossing. They use physical ingredients such as salt and warding marks. They even tattoo themselves with wards to prevent a creature from possessing them. They even learn wards that will stop and/or banish an angel.

Although not the most thematic, I prefer the first option of unblockable for pure mechanical game play. It doesn't stop movement altogether and therefore won't create a situation where a melee figure cannot catch up to Sam and Dean.

I'm not opposed to this idea. I worry it will kind of dictate where to place order markers though.
