Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
I really like how streamlined Arise is. Figure transformation powers are always tricky, and this is about as simple as it gets!
I do think his Attack/Range is a little high right now, Jason doesn't usually seem like the fireball flingin' type. I wonder if the Phantom Stranger trick (lower attack so you have to rely on spells for offense) would be cool. Exorcism Warding should probably call out enemy figures. Hyped! |

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
Don't forget to link this in the Welcome to C3G thread and tag the heroes. And you'll need to spell out Magical Defense and lose the picture in the second post as well. (Using another post for art links is usually the strategy there, it keeps the SP clean and focused on the design stuff.)
Cool design. Arise the Demon Etrigan is a neat take on the transformation mechanic, giving a turn with both Jason and Etrigan. Though if Etrigan stays engaged, you might not ever get Jason back. Would it be thematic for Jason/Etrigan to transform when it is destroyed, or is the risk of losing the other figure purposeful in this design? I'd separate these two lines as they don't seem to be meant to go together: Quote:

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
I think thematically if one is destroyed, they both are.
I am in agreement with all the other notes you guys make. Those were the only concerns I had. ![]() 3/3 Range/Attack seem good? I'm digging this one! Good stuff. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
Alright, all spun on those things. That all makes sense, post updated in the other thread now.
And yea, the idea would be that losing one loses the other. Jason becomes your weirdly... defensive way to move Etrigan around? Or to do some utility stuff with him. Also lets you move current Etrigan into position easier if you want to go after a specific target. |

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
Well plus there's the self turn bonding aspect that would make transformations appealing. I think that's a really clever mechanic to encourage more frequent use of the transformations.
Interestingly, I saw the link had him as a Troubled Investigator and here you have him as a Conflicted Investigator. Not sure it'd be thematic or not, but Doom Patrol synergy would be kinda fun. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Just a quick bump to check and see if anyone had any other input. My intent is to complete the checklist tommorrow night.

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
For this line: "If Etrigan is not engaged at the end of the round then replace his figure with Jason's." do we need to clarify that it doesn't work if Jason is destroyed? Never sure where exactly to draw the line on that stuff.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
That's a good question.
I guess I'm wondering if there is a way to get Etrigan to the field if Jason is actually dead, from our set up I assumed that if Jason bit the dust then Etrigan is stuck in limbo. I don't mind specifying it on the card though. "While Jason is not destroyed, if Etrigan is not engaged at the end of the round then replace his figure with Jason's." |

Re: The Book of Jason Blood - Design
I believe there are some things that can destroy Jason while he's on his card, so he could e destroyed between Etrigan being placed and when Jason would swap back in.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
