Future Cavalry

I am not a big fan of Cavalry because there can only be one squad of them per package and it isn't worth it for me as a consumer to buy it - especially if they are going to be as bland as the templars / grok riders.

With that said:

Out of all the choices, I suppose I would go with the Soulborg idea.

They are made with the same amount of plastic it takes to fill the booster with 6 figures (2 squads of 3, 3 Unique Heroes & 1 Unique Squad of 3, etc) so personally, it is worth it. This has been discussed many times though...so lets not talk about it here.

Aquilla needs tigers and bears.

Common calvalry heroes the animals would be.

I'm fine with 3 different kinds of bears, each with different abilities.

Black bears can use trees to their advantage. Polar bears can swim, cross ice, and cross snow easily. Grizzly bears make awesome tanks.

Tigers with white skin and blue stripes are movement based with some jump ability.

Tigers with orange skin and black stripes have slightly more defense, attack, and hitpoints but significantly less movement.

Maybe they could bond with some hunters riding lepords, or maybe the animals could be mounted.

I think its possible each general will receive more than 1 cavalry squad. Its already been previewed in Cyprien's bio that Utgar might have Skeleton Cavalry in the future.

As for other general ideas:

Ullar:
I think it would be cool to have Elves mounted on deer. They should be armed with bows, making them a ranged cavalry. Since Ullar is all about movement, I think it would be cool if his cavalry had some kind of scout function where friendly units could add to their move if they end their turn adjacent to them.

Aquilla:
Its easy to come up with bug riders, but I'm hoping that Aquilla gets several factions that are nature/swamp related. That said, I'm thinking it would be cool to have some kind of humanoid race riding on cougars or panthers or mountain lions, etc.

Vydar:
Hasn't it been pseudo confirmed or at least jokingly implied in one of the podcasts that Vydar will get Doggin cavalry? I'm not sure what's riding them though; maybe trons?

The Samurai designer guy did say he wants Samurai Cavalry to complete that army once and for all. Some sort of Roman cavalry might be cool, but I'm also thinking that Dragoons would be awesome--sort of like a mounted version of the redcoats.

And if Utgar gets two cavalry forces, its only fair that Jandar gets them too...which means: Cowboys! That's right, ole Shotgun Sullivan gets backup from galloping cowboys with pistols and rifles.

Not exactly deer or elves, but close enough. I think I like that idea. Now if they just come with decapitating stone arrow special attack...

I had an idea for a new ability last night. It was a scout figure with crappy attack, a Isamu Vanish type power, and an ability that allows you to look at two of your opponents' order markers once per round as long as you're in range, like an actual scout.

Elf on a deer, perhaps?

So... You want to give the centaurs to Ullar, but Einar's to not be human? Instead, give EINAR the the centaurs, sticking to the "majestic" theme, and mount elves on battle unicorns for Ullar. And don't tell me that's for little kids or girlish. The leader of the crimson sigil rides a pegasus.
