Is heroscape getting canned?

A thought occurred to me today when I went to Wal-Mart and found it completely lacking any heroscape stuff. I called around to a few places and found that no where in a reasonable vicinity (within 4 hours drive) carried heroscape at all. However, everywhere I looked I could find an over abundance of Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures followed quickly by Star Wars miniatures. It got me to thinking why does Wizards of the Coast need FOUR miniature based strategy games? The answer is they don’t. I don’t know why anyone else has not seen this coming, but I think the only reason WoTC bought heroscape is to get rid of its competition. I mean think about it. Wotc produces D&D minis as well as rule books errata and everything for it, it is HUGE! What would be the quickest way to eliminate competition? Buy it out and run it into the ground. It has happened with other RPG companies as before why not this time?

Re: Is heroscape getting canned?

Ok fair enough but if you think about it they could not just buy the game and then get rid of it too many people would complain and they would lose to much money on an investment. However if they took the game, milked it a little more and then made some drastic chenges in it such as quality of pieces or whatever they they could simply say it failed and be done with it. As I said before it has been done before.

First of all, WOTC did not buy it, it was handed over by Hasbro because it turned more in to a war game then a board game. And second, they just had a rerelease and confirmed the release of wave 9 in the summer.

I don't see Heroscape dying any time soon.

Which is ironic considering it's a war game all about dying.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast"
Ephesians 2:8-9

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved" Acts 16:31

It's just your area, Some people have reported seeing tons of wave 8, 7, 3, 2, master sets and even some large expansions sets in one walmart.
