I think the Spiders' problems go beyond TKR and SBN. What about WSG? She (I'll never get used to that pronoun) is by far the weakest of the hivelords, but still stacks up to Sujoah quite well.
Although she cannot compare to the wasp on steriods in mobility, I like coil crush better than poison sting. Crushing requires one extra wound, but since WSG has two extra attack, that should work out about the same. Then we add the extra wounds. Sting has roughly a 1/2 chance of on extra wound, a 1/4 chance of two extra wounds, etc. Coil Crush has by this point already inflicted two wounds, and has a 1/4-ish chance of killing outright. I really like the idea of the Spiders, and encourage the designers to keep working on the order-marker-removal idea, but for now the Spiders' bonding options are way too weak. Advantage: Food `Q16, who really wishes Dund could have been a predator. |

The Mardden Nagrubbs are way better, first, there is the X2. That comes really useful, you can go up to an extremely tall mountain/hill, and wait to go and attack. Next, they have hivelord bonding, which creams the idea of which that any thing else works. So, it's over, I won!

I, personally, prefer the spiders. Their size has allowed me to ambush an enemy plenty of times the naggrubs couldn't have, and they have a power that's usable WITHOUT having a hero on the field. Besidz the fact that I use Sujoah more.

That's why you're always better off shooting the 'grubs first, unless TKN is close to death anyway. Sure, it's only 10 points per shot, but it's like hitting TKN and only having to go through 2 Defense.
