Your cars use the fractional wrenches, as do early american cars. Japanese and Euros use Metric, but different sizes. Euros use a lot of 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 mm fasteners. Japanese use 12, 14, 16, 18, and 21 mm fasteners.
