Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
Just as a note - the odds of rolling 17+ on a d20 is 20%, and the odds of rolling a blank on a combat die is about 16.67%. Would be a slight nerf but it'd be the same trigger as his dodge...

...And actually be really quite weak. This feels like his signature power to me - I'd like it to have some oomph.

If we really don't want to keep the D20, what about:

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
That seems to be a bit underwhelming in 1 v 1 scenarios though. Choosing between a single unblockable attack die and an attack of 5 just doesn't seem all that great, IMO.

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
I'm not concerned about power level, but isn't he pretty Wally West-y at that point?

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
A weaker version of Wally, without the decent Special Attack, pretty much.

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
V's last draft would make him stronger than Wally, not weaker.

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
I meant overall. Wally has 12-16 movement, can choose the 3 figures that he moved through rather than having to hope they are within 3 spaces of each other to make the most out of the power, and has a Special Attack potential of 7. Sure, the auto-kill part for Nightcrawler is nice, but it's not going to be a high trigger rate. So ultimately, I'd still say Nightcrawler is a weaker version of Wally.

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
I'm completely neutral on the direction currently, I'm not against Viegon's proposed direction, I'm just not entirely sold on it either. I feel we haven't quite seen the best to be suggested yet.

Re: The Book of Nightcrawler (Kurt Darkholme) (Initial PT)
I'm not sure why 1v1 would be an issue, the odds of him coming down to a 1v1 scenario in a normal game is pretty rare, and plenty of units don't do well in 1v1 anyways.
The Wally comparison is an interesting one, but they have plenty of differences for it not to be an issue in my opinion. Wally's autowounding is easier to use but has less potential; Nightcrawler has the chance to autowound defensively, but has less move than Wally; and most importantly, completely different synergy sets (there's really no concern of them crossing over at all).
