If there ever was a hero designed for mop up duties, this one is it. Not good for any other part of the game IMO except to sit in the back of the start zone.

DUND is underestimated and under-rated.

Yes, this is what I see him as. Let him sit behind a ruin or sit in the very back of your starting zone, and let him give the Zettians five move, Blastatrons six, Obsidian Guards five move, and once everyone is gone, send him out with seven range and three attack, with a five attack special. And with six defense, he can last long. But he needs three life IMO.

As a soulborg, he's immune to Chilling Toch, Marro Plague, and Toxic Skin.

MechaBeast is surprisingly tart
my guess is that you would treat this guys as a Su bak Na and leave him behind as your "guard army" lays the place to waste like. However, without a common squad of good melee guards, I dont see myself using him in many armies even though his sculpt is amazing. I dont consider Obsidian guards because of their 4 movement and high priced cost but ive been wrong before.

...and then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal, and then he herded them all onto a boat and then he beat the crap out every single one.

In reply to many posts on this thread:

The Zettians in my games don't really need dusting off, since we use them to hold glyphs and defend castles, but Warden 816 will definitely give them more offensive use (such as keeping up with DW9K).

The Evisceraxe could be cooler, but for 90 points it compares well to Drake's, Carr's and Alastair's attacks/point costs.

Yes, those Moltarns need him, as they are usually moving up and down from molten lava to lava field with 4 move.

Does anyone else think he looks like he is from GWAR?

Anyway, I think his new icon should be

How's that for too much two cents?

I think Warden stinks. 2 life and 6 defense means he wil die pretty quickly and he suffers from the common Hero problem of only 1 attack in a turn

just my 2cents

i think warden is really good if used right

keep him back on high ground, and snipe until your boosted gaurds have gotten the bulk of the army, bring him in and evisceraxe the rest.

How? The move is like the chainsaw bayonet from Gears of War. Personally I will not be surprised to hear someone at my next game night play a recording of the Chainsaw kill from GOW every time he kills someone with the eviseraxe
Glad I'm not the only one planning to do that...

He really has this game's Hero template down. Boost an under performing squad easily until they're done, then rush out and see what kind of damage you can do alone. With a high point, he's rolling 7 defense, which is usually plenty to survive a few hits at the very least.

Warden 816-90
Laglor-110
2x Blastatrons-120
2x Gladiatrons-160
Isamu-10

500

Send out the trons in normal formation and keep Laglor close, so Blastatrons get +2 range and +1 move so it's easier to get elevation. If and when the trons start to stall, start firing with Laglor. When he's gone, hopefully you've killed off ranged enemies and you can send out Warden and Isamu for light clean up duty.

I see 2 issues with this guy. Number 1 he's a medium sized hero with only 2 life.....Say hello to my friend DED. DED can use his Ullar enhanced rifle instead of using the D20. Also the warden's special doesn't work on rats. All you have to do is engage him with the rats, 3 atk vs. 4 def, the rats will probably stick around for a while, plus with only 2 life, you're not going to want to take any chances on engagement strikes. Just a few thoughts. He reminds me a little of Carr, in terms of he can shoot, but he's best when he's in your face.

DED requires two shots to take him out. He's a good choice against him, but it's pretty easy to keep out of DED's rifle's range since he can't move. You should be able to get in range and Eviceraxe Dan before he gets the second shot off if you watch the terrain carefully.

Rats are just wicked little creatures no matter how you look at it. The real question is, why aren't they on YOUR side

This dude rules! I just played:

Warden
Zettians
Obsidians
Templar Knights
Marcu Isenwen

vs.

Cyprien
Iskra
Sonja
Rechets
Shades

The Obsidians were powerhouses! the Zettians took names!!! I am amazed how much of a difference that 1 move makes. I didn't even have a chance to use the Warden because those 2 squads destroyed everything else on the board.

I need to play him a few more times, but I'm really enjoying this unit.
