How about a Climb x2 ability? Someone did bring up how in the movie scene that Orcs were climbing all over the place, if not climb then maybe a quick scaling ability of some kind?

I like the concept of some kind of movement boost, but I think I'd like to see it tied to shadow & dungeon tiles in some way. It's not like these orcs move great in sunlit grass.

Oof, that's a BIG downside. I like the idea of unreliable though, perhaps it could just cause you to lose a turn with them instead of getting attacked or having them hop into lava.

Yeah, I like unreliable too, but I don't think having an opponent take control is the best way to get it across. Maybe have something like orc squads without lieutenant who fail the roll must attack if possible, even if there are no targetable enemy figures (so each other). I don't think they'd be shooting arrows at each other, but in a confined space with no clear direction they'd squabble with each other. Also the Uruk Hai are more disciplined so this wouldn't affect them.
edit: Here, I did a write up. Orcish Cruelty/Quarrelsome/something else Before taking a turn with (Orc Squad), if there is no Orc Lieutenant in your army, you must roll the 20-sided die, one at a time, for each figure adjacent to any (Orc Squad) figure you control. If you roll 1-5, instead of moving or attacking normally this turn, adjacent (Orc Squad) figure must attack the affected figure. Also I love Nimble Climber. Just realized this is pretty similar to Orcish Violence, but the ones getting attacked aren't Orc specific. Maybe an Orcish Violence/Unreliable/above write-up merger that we can apply to all non-Uruk Common Orc Squads.
I really like Cave Dweller for all the Moria Orcs, and Nimble Climber on the archers. |

Orcish Cruelty/Quarrelsome seems like it could be a pain with 10+ figures rolling the 20 sided die and some of them also attacking. There should be some kind of limit.
Maybe squad figures only attack figures that are not in the same squad. So Archers would attach Moria orcs, but they would not attack another Archer. |

That seems a lot more in line with the theme and more comical as someone that would be running the orcs. Feels a lot better than giving up control and makes these orc commanders we theorize very important

My write-up for Orcish violence in post 25 featured only one roll per turn. I would like to stick with something that has a similar level of elegance. I am fine with an equivalent power on the Orc archers also, as well as repeating cave dweller. That would make the two cards identical in terms of powers, but different in left box and stats. Which is just like the blade Gruts and heavy Gruts (and arrow Gruts if you count their bonding powers as being the same for this purpose) so there is precedent. The two squads will play differently due to their stats, and we can also make the number of figures and the cost be different.
I would prefer mention of any lieutenants, captains, or chieftains be left off the squad card. Let the heroes opt in to affecting the power explicitly. Tweaked ORCISH VIOLENCE
After taking a turn with the Orcs of Moria/Archer Orcs Of Moria, you must roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-4, destroy a common Orc squad figure you control adjacent to an Orc of Moria/Archer Orc Of Moria you control. If you roll an 18 or higher, inflict one wound on an opponent's figure adjacent to an Orc of Moria you control. This look better? |
