Re: The Book of Nikki
Quote:
1. Charlie has a SA but its once a round and you'd much rather have in engaged attacking with his normal attack. 2. Yondu has no SA, he has a once a round Special Power that is very swingy. 3. Nikki currently has no SA, but a potentially too powerful normal attack outside the Guardians. 4. Marty definitely will be SA oriented but its limited to non-adjacent attacks. I would consider dropping his SA for a normal attack/special power, if it's an issue. 5. Vance has a Special Attack that will be used often but its the characters main attack thematically I feel like its going to be pretty balanced. |

Re: The Book of Nikki
With the change to Nikki, that's 3/5 of them that primarily want to attack with with thier SAs when they can. (Nikki, Martinex, Vance) Martinex and Vance do have the non-adjacent requirement, which helps.
On most designs, the SA is an optional way of attacking that isn't inherently better/worse than the normal attack. (Or the SA is limited to once per round/game, or the SA can only be used in specific circumstances, etc.) On those 3, there are going to be a lot of instances where the SAs are going to be straight superior to the normal attack and the primary way of attacking with the character. Again, I don't think it's a flaw, it's just a very uncommon design element, since I can't think of any other faction that favors SAs that strongly. Might be worth including SA synergy in a future design. |

SP updated. Will see how 1st round of playtesting with Martinex goes before updating cards.

Re: The Book of Nikki
So to give feedback, I felt like Nikki's Stun Guns were pretty potent in my games. Maybe I was just getting lucky, but 2 SA attacks of 4 are nothing to laugh at, especially with the re-roll boost.
I do wonder if the re-roll is worth the added complexity now that it's an SA? Like I could see a case to just make it a +1 attack or even drop the re-roll entirely. I do think the 5 range on the normal vs. 4 range on the special feels odd - it never actually mattered in my games, I don't think. Maybe her normal range could be 6 to give them a bit of a difference? Like here's a potential suggestion, though I'm not sure it doesn't mess with the balance of the design too much. More a "for your consideration" thing! Quote:

Re: The Book of Nikki
I put the re-roll in there to represent her sharpshooting ability. I don't think it's super important though and could see dropping it and bumping normal range to 6.

Re: The Book of Nikki
Dual Stun Guns is missing the Special Attack part of the power's name.

Re: The Book of Nikki
Had this one as well. Updated
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |
