Battle 1: A super-tough Nick and his rebirthing thralls rolled to a 270-point victory over the Granite on Valledon Fortress.




Battle 2: What a close one this turned out to be. The Cathars looked tough, but a few chaingrabs and last round ranged shots from the Warden enabled Team Kaelix to prevail by 35 points.




Battle 3: The Cathars took revenge in the next battle, pummeling the Thralls by 248 points.


Battle 4: The Rock giants and the Granites were no match for Kaelix's Guards, falling by 370 points. This one snow-balled fast.


Battle 5: Kaelix and friends showed they were for real by beating up on the Thralls by 320 points. The Guards finish the grouping undefeated and will have a very high seeding in the Big Dance.




Battle 6: The Granites were able to get in the win column on Wyrwalk by taking out Kreel's Cathars by 236 points. Three teams finished 1-2 for the first time in 12 groups.

Battle 1: The Marrden Hounds went on a rampage and were hot with the defense dice enabling the very tough Team Le-Orex to pummel Richter and the Gladiators with 246 points remaining.


Battle 2: What a fun one. Some pounces and some long-range shots, but it all boiled down to Jarek and the Werewolf going head to head at the end. The big wolf couldn't manage a big skull roll when attacking, but he could when defending. Jarek and the Fighters came out on top with 48 points left.




Battle 3: The Hounds and Le-Orex were at it again with the hot dice, cruising past the Wolves by 216 points to improve to a 2-0 record.




Battle 4: Jarek's Fighters also improved to 2-0 with a fairly close 112 point victory over the Capuans as Richter once again got taken out of the battle before he inflict much damage.





Battle 5: In the group's championship match of 2-0 armies, the Hounds blew-out the Mariedians by 270 points. Surprisingly, a team with Marrden Hounds is going into the big dance with one of the highest seeds with their 732-point differential in scoring.


Battle 6: Consolation battle. The Wolves moved into the win-column with a 177 point drubbing of the hapless Gladiators.

Group O - June 9, 2018

Nine of us met up for a huge game day. We each selected two 450-armies, playing each army three times during the gathering. Probably one of the most enjoyable tournaments I have been a part of.

I am going to post the armies here and will be back in the next week to post the results and some pics. I won't be doing 24 different battle summaries - I could only focus on my own games.

The Emperium flew past the Wizards by 374 points.


Team Ullar continued with cold dice as Krug and the Gruts won with 284 left on the battlefield.


The Gorillitroopers gave the Gruts their first loss by a 208 point margin.


Team Vydar also gave Kiova and friends their first defeat, winning by 225.


Laglor's Gorillitroopers made it a perfect 3-0 with a fairly close final battle with the Wizards.


Winner advances to the Big Dance. Huskies16's Grut army made it with a 125-point victory over Longy418's Emperium in a fun battle.

Father and son squared off in this group. Son (Huskies16) and his Roman Legion crushed two armies and then got past the Minotaurs in a close one to go undefeated.

Three armies qualified for the Big Dance with 2-1 records, the Rogues were trounced by all three in fairly close battles, and the Ants, Constructs, and Deathknights took turns beating up on each other.

Group U - February 18, 2019

Charos's Greenscales: Charos, Greenscale Warriors x2, Zogross Hardscale = 450

Chela's Warmongers: Mezzodemon Warmongers x3, Chela, Rattlesnake Reed (NWHC play test) = 445

Evar's Pirates: Barbary Corsairs x3, Suds Merrick, Darrin Razorbeak, Evar Scarcarver = 450

Gothlock's Chasers: Death Chaser of Thesk x4, Gothlock, Ogre Pulverizer = 450

The brothers (Nomad and Longy418 ) squared off to do battle with this group. Group U probably had the best non-ranged armies overall in all of the groups. Many close and strategic battles ensued while on vacation at the wonderful grey beaches and skies on the coast of Washington.

Battle 1: Charos v. Chela. Greenscales v. Mezzos. The Demons proved to be the difference in this one, taking care of the Greenscales in time. Charros's counterstrike worked well, but wasn't quite enough to take down Chela. Valkrill and the Demons won with 100 points remaining.


Battle 2: First time playing with Gothlock. The pirate army was tough, but the Chasers got enough of a jump to position with battle charge and were able to hang on for a very narrow 53 point victory. This was a fun game that came down to initiative roll in round 7.


Battle 3: Charos and the Greenscales got into the win column with another barn-burner as the Chasers fell by only 66 points. Two lives left for Charos and a single Greenscale remained. Another great battle.




Battle 4: The Pirates fell to 0-2 in one of the closest battles to date. Only 33 points remained as the Demons remained undefeated. Only a one-life Chela still stood standing. Attack-Defended, attack-defended . . . as Scarcarver and the big demon went head-to-head at the end. You could cut the tension with a knife. One of the greatest battles of all-time!

Battle 5: The Pirates were miffed losing two close battles, and then proceeded to take Charos and friends to the woodshed for a beatin', finishing with 215 points on the battlefield.

Battle 6: Gothlock's Chasers desperately need a victory to make it to the Big Dance against the undefeated Demon army. They got what they needed in another fun one, winning with 155 points remaining.

This was a fun grouping! Longy418 armies each finished 2-1, but the points were close.


Sadly, it would take a full 10 months to complete another round of the mega-tournament. Things were put on hold as other endeavors were pursued.

But, we all returned to close out the play-in groupings at the end of 2019 into early 2020.

Group V - December 14, 2019

We are almost up-to-date (only a couple of months behind with the reports). The brothers squared off again in the next couple of groups over a weekend of pure heroscape bliss.

Jorn's Resistance: Kapta Jorn (NWHC Wave 5), B-11 Resistance Corps, M-43 Resistance Fighters x2, Jarek Guy, Kira Jax = 445

Drake's Redcoats: 10th Regiment of Foot x3, Marcus Decimus Gallus, Sgt. Drake Alexander v1 = 435

Murazath's Shades: Shades Of Bleakwoode x2, Murazath (NWHC Wave 5), Corpse Tormentors (NWHC Wave 5), Tomb Skeleton Archers x2 = 450

Battle 1: A close one as the Ullar Rangers and Sidhe came out on top over the Mariedians with only 38 points remaining on the battlefield.

Battle 2: Muzarath and the Undead crushed the Redcoats in an upset. The dice were hot for Longy418 for a 286-point margin of victory.


Battle 3: Kapta and Jarek didn't survive the Undead onslaught. The Mariedians fell to 0-2 as the Shades won with hot dice again and 218 points to remain undefeated in the group.

Battle 4: Drake's Redcoats survived against Varinn's Sidhe with a 145 points left standing. Both armies sit at 1-1.


Battle 5: It all came down to Kira Jax against a trio of Redcoats, none of which could manage more than a skull in their attacks. Kira was tough, managed to walk away with one life. The Resistance got their first win by 10 points over the Redcoats in a thriller.

Battle 6: The Sidhe needed a win to make the Big Dance. Muzarath and the ghosts didn't let that happen. With 123 points remaining, the Shades went 3-0 and the group and will be one of the higher seeds.

Little Jean de Ascalon fought it out with Sir Dupuis at the end. Jean rolled amazingly well with the defense dice. The Corsairs beet the Phantoms with 10 points left.


Skahen's Agents got rolled by 370 points by Barbaros and the Corsairs.


First time playing with Kozil. The Spiders rolled over Dupuis and his ghosts with 294 points left on the battlefield.

Lea and the Knights of Weston went undefeated in this round with their MVP being the Morgan's Riflemen, which we played for the first time - they are a very good squad. We also had some fun playing with Buccaneers Tortuga for the first time - cool common squad, but they do fall fast.
