Bio coming soon.

Model: Drune Persecutor, Rackham

No one knows Vorath’s early history. He came from the east, staggering out of the Blighted Forest with a small number of crazed barbarian warriors, known to other Gol-Goths as the Black Guard. Upon entering the northern portion of the Grey Mountains, he quickly took over the first tribes of Gol-Goths he came upon and within a month had carved out a small empire for himself, leaving the broken bodies of those who had previously commanded the tribes lying in the ditch. It was this feat that attracted the attention of Einar, who summoned him and his warriors to Valhalla. Armed with his mighty Axe of Slaughter, Vorath now cuts a path of destruction across the battlefields of Valhalla that few can stop.

Models: Warriors of Caer Maed, Rackham

The Gol-Goths are a race of savage and brutal barbarians from the world of Feylund. Gol-goths raid, burn, and destroy everything they come across, and when there's no enemy to be found, they turn on each other. Scattered across the world of Feylund, there are many different tribes, and each tribe is led by a brutal Warlord that has fought many opponents to attain leadership of the tribe. Gol-Goths love to prove themselves against tougher and larger opponents, and have a reputation for being “giant killers.” Whether fighting amongst themselves or battling enemies of another race, Gol-goths are angry, quarrelsome creatures capable of pounding any opponent into bloody scraps. Those that are in the service of Einar are often dispatched against the largest and most powerful creatures in their enemy’s army.

Model: Tythania (with wings added), MageKnight Sorcery

Ariel was an apprentice wizard who was dispatched with a small scouting party of Kyrie warriors in the service of Jandar to find a wellspring that was rumored to lie somewhere in the Thaelenk Tundra. After many weeks of searching, the scouting party located the wellspring, but was ambushed by vicious wolves and Ice Trolls. A fierce skirmish ensued, with the Kyrie warriors eventually driving their attackers away, but Ariel was seriously injured during the fight. Knowing that other wellsprings had exhibited healing powers, the Kyrie Warriors had Ariel drink from the wellspring in hopes of healing her. Indeed, the frozen waters healed Ariel, and also bestowed upon her the ability to use Ice Magic.

After returning to Jandar’s Fortress, Ariel began discovering and honing her newfound ability. It was during this time that Utgar sent a force to capture the frozen wellspring but was eventually defeated by Jandar’s forces, with the help of the Dzu-Teh, snow creatures native to the Tundra. Knowing that Utgar would soon make another attempt to capture the wellspring, and with his northern army under the command of Sgt Drake Alexander tied up with ongoing conflicts with Utgar’s forces elsewhere, Jandar dispatched Ariel, along with a small group of Kyrie warriors, to return to the Tundra and form alliances with other inhabitants of the Tundra in order to strengthen Jandar’s depleted forces guarding the wellspring.

Model: Large Ice Elemental, D&D Miniatures Unhallowed

Ice Elementals are magically created creatures formed of ice and snow and are bonded with elemental spirits from the Elemental Plane. Their power depends on the power of the Ice Wizard that created them: the more powerful the wizard, the more powerful the Ice Elemental. However, even Ice Elementals formed by novice Ice Wizards are more than a match for most warriors. Once summoned to the battlefield, the Ice Elemental remains under the magical control of the Ice Wizard, but is free to move and attack those the Ice Wizard has determined are enemies. Able to generate intense cold, Ice Elementals can project this cold in icy blasts over a great distance, sometimes freezing their enemies in place.

Model: Frost Giant, D&D Miniatures Night Below

Located in the mountains near the frozen wellspring is a mighty fortress. Here is the dwelling place of the Frost Giants, a mighty race of Giants who have adapted to the harsh environment of the Thaelenk Tundra. Among the Frost Giants, Fafnir is one of their greatest warriors, having proven himself in the Frost Giants long conflicts with the Ice Trolls. Wielding a mighty Frost Blade, Fafnir is a dangerous foe to encounter, as even the slightest wound from his Frost Blade is enough to freeze a person instantly. When Ariel came to the fortress of the Frost Giants seeking allies for Jandar’s forces, Fafnir agreed to join the forces defending the frozen wellspring.

Models: Warhammer Fantasy Dwarfs

Throughout the frozen mountain ranges of the Thaelenk Tundra lie underground strongholds belonging to the noble race of Frost Dwarves. Like Frost Giants, the Frost Dwarves have adapted to the harsh conditions of the Thaelenk Tundra. The entrances to their strongholds are protected by mighty keeps full of Dwarven warriors that are well equipped to defend their homes. When the Ice Troll Incursion began, the Frost Dwarves joined together with the remaining Frost Giants to defend their mountain homes against the evil Trolls. This alliance has lasted for almost a century, and it is not uncommon to find Frost Giants in the outer keeps of the Frost Dwarves strongholds or to find Frost Dwarves at the Frost Giants Fortress. When Ariel came looking for allies to join Jandar’s beleaguered forces defending the wellspring, contingents of Frost Dwarves came from throughout the Dwarven strongholds, greatly increasing and strengthening Jandar’s presence in the Tundra.

Model: Wendigo Ice Warrior, Crocodile Games

The Yeh-Teh are the distant cousins of the Dzu-Teh. Being more reclusive than the Dzu-Teh, most Valhallians considered the Yeh-Teh to be nothing more than a legend. It wasn’t until the armies of the Arch Kyries started to occupy areas of the Thaelenk Tundra that the existence of the Yeh-Teh was confirmed. Stronger but less agile than the Dzu-Teh, the Yeh-Teh smash through their enemies with a wild and ferocious determination, and their presence on the battlefield inspires the Dzu-Teh, making them almost as formidable as their larger cousins. Seeing their homelands threatened by the invading armies of Utgar, the Yeh-Teh allied themselves with Jandar after Ariel held a council with them.

Models: Snow Centaur and Snow Maiden, MageKnight Dark Riders

During the Ice Troll Incursion, the lands of the Wendigos were the first to be invaded. Catching the unsuspecting Wendigos at dawn, many of the Wendigos were slaughtered before they could defend themselves. The Wendigos were scattered from their land and hunted by the Ice Trolls. Now few in number and known as Tundra Runners, they have become a nomadic race, wandering the Thaelenk Tundra. They often find themselves as scouts and guides, leading friendly travelers safely through the hazardous Tundra, and ambushing those they have identified as threats. They attack in a fury, leaping upon their surprised enemies and attacking all enemies that are adjacent to them. They accepted Ariel’s offer to join Jandar’s forces, and with their great speed, often act as shock troops, throwing the enemy forces into disarray before the rest of the Tundra Runners’ allies can engage the enemy.

Model: Ice Witch of Hyperborea, Crocodile Games

As deadly as she is beautiful, Lilith has a soul as cold as ice. She is a powerful Ice Witch, capable of freezing someone with a simple or attacking them from a distance with shards of ice. Once the oppressive ruler of a world known as Hyborea, she plunged her world into an endless winter using her powerful Ice Magic. Utgar rescued her from certain death after the people rose up and rebelled against her oppressive rule. With her powers over ice, Utgar knew that she would be perfect to lead some of his forces in an another attempt to gain control of the frozen wellspring in the Thaelenk Tundra. Dispatching her to the Tundra, Lilith began looking for new allies to join Utgar’s army. However, Lilith is as evil and cunning as ever, and her motives remain uncertain. She has heard of the power of the frozen wellspring, and it is very well likely that she is forming an army from the creatures in the Thaelenk Tundra to claim the wellspring for herself. Only time will reveal her true motives.

Model: Ice Troll, D&D Miniatures Aberrations

Where the Ice Trolls originated from is a mystery. Some say they were regular Trolls who discovered the frozen wellspring in the Thaelenk Tundra and drank from it, turning them into Ice Trolls. It was roughly 80 years ago that the Ice Trolls began invading the Thaelenk Tundra, and this invasion became known as the Great Ice Troll Incursion. With the other wellsprings being discovered several years later, there is some merit to the theory that they discovered the first of the wellsprings, and then began moving deeper into the Tundra in search of more. Where ever the Ice Trolls went, they left a path of destruction in their wake. Encountering the peaceful Wendigos, they almost succeeded in utterly annihilating them. They next encountered the Frost Giants and Frost Dwarves, and have waged a bitter war against them for almost a century. Both sides have fought over the control of the frozen wellspring, with neither side holding it for very long. Savage, ferocious creatures, Ice Trolls hunger for battle. Emitting an icy aura, most enemies are frozen before they can attack the creatures, leaving them vulnerable to the Ice Trolls powerful attacks. Lilith recruited many of these fierce creatures to join Utgar’s forces, promising them that together they could defeat their age old enemies the Frost Giants and Frost Dwarves.

Model: Frost Minion, Mage Knight Sorcery

Deep within the heart of the Thaelenk Tundra, at its bitter core, dwells the race of Stygians: elemental-like creatures that emit an unnatural cold. Their bodies are composed of solid ice, and only they can survive the frigid temperatures at the center of this hostile environment. No other living thing exists in this barren wasteland, and the freezing temperatures keep their domain safe from invaders. Only the most powerful of Ice Wizards can enter this land, and so it was that Lilith was able to penetrate this hostile land and recruit these dire creatures to Utgar’s cause. Able to traverse the harsh terrain of the Thaelenk Tundra with ease, the Stygian Warriors provide the bulk of Utgar’s forces in the Tundra Campaign. Their ability to propel deadly ice shards at their enemies and their ferocious attacks in close combat make these warriors the perfect choice to use to gain control of the frozen wellspring.

Model: Werewolf Lord, D&D Miniatures

Once a proud and noble Kyrie warrior, Maugrim was bitten during a battle with a pack of ferocious Dire Wolves. Days later, Maugrim began having bizarre dreams of being a wolf and hunting down prey. As time went by, after awakening from such dreams, Maugrim would find himself in the wilderness, the dead carcasses of wildlife scattered about him. Maugrim hid his secret as best he could, but eventually his conditioned worsened, driving Maugrim into madness. Soon Maugrim became more feral and his physical form began to change. His wings disappeared, his teeth turned into fangs, his nails turned into sharp claws, and fur began to appear on his body. Eventually, he changed completely into a wolf-like creature, and disappeared into the northern wilderness. Now devoid of all intellect, Maugrim exists as a wild beast, stalking the forests of the Tundra in search of prey. When Lilith came to the Thaelenk Tundra in search of new allies for Utgar’s northern forces, she came across Maugrim. Using her powerful magic, she was able to enslave Maugrim and forced him into Utgar’s service.

Model: Vampire Dire Wolf, D&D Miniatures

Fenris was a lone Dire Wolf who came across the frozen wellspring in the Thaelenk Tundra. Drinking from the wellspring, Fenris soon began to understand the language of the Valhallians. His physical form became stronger, and his teeth and claws became sharper. Using his new found strength, Fenris came across a pack of Dire Wolves and challenged the pack leader, defeating him easily and establishing himself as the new leader. Fenris soon gathered to him many more Dire Wolves, and established a fortified den deep within the wilderness of the Tundra. When the Ice Trolls wandered into the wilderness, Fenris made an alliance with the Ice Trolls, and together the Ice Trolls and the Dire Wolves extended their domains, leading to many fierce encounters with the other inhabitants of the frozen Tundra. Ever hungry for battle, Fenris allied himself with Lilith and became captain of Utgar’s forces in the Tundra Campaign, second only in command to Lilith.

Models: Worg and Dire Wolf, D&D Miniatures; Dire Wolf Horror Clix

Dire Wolves are large, ferocious wolves found only in the Thaelenk Tundra. These wolves are larger and fiercer than normal wolves found in the southern forests, and are known to carry a virus that can sometimes lead to a victim that is bitten and survives a Dire Wolf attack to become a feral, wolf-like creature over time. Often found in packs, Dire Wolves attack their prey as a group, assaulting their target from all directions. With their fast movement, Dire Wolves are often deployed as first assault troops, overrunning their enemies and tearing them apart before they have time to react.

Added July 24/2007:

Model: Capt. Rengrave, Privateer Press

Captain Jones was one of the most successful and feared pirate lords on Feylund. His ship, the Flying Dutchman, struck fear into the hearts of sailors when it appeared. Captain Jones’ success in pirating had swelled his ego, making him believe that he was the true master of the sea. And so, on the island of Tilea, Captain Jones and his crew plundered and desecrated the temple of the sea goddess Calypso. As punishment for such an offense, Calypso condemned Captain Jones and his crew to an eternal penance as Undead, raiding the coasts in search of souls to satisfy their eternal hunger.

Now recruited by Vydar, Captain Jones and the crew of the Flying Dutchman now raid the coasts of Nostralund and Ekstrom and attack Jandarian warships in the Bitter Sea. Armed with the mighty Tomb Blade given to him by Vydar, Captain Jones can swell the ranks of the Flying Dutchman with ever more crewmen who are bound to his evil will.

Model: Pirate's Monkey, Freebooter Miniatures

Captain Jones acquired his pet monkey in one of his infamous raids prior to his desecration of Calypso's temple. Jones soon learned of the monkey's mischievous ways, and so aptly named him Loki. During conflicts, Loki would distract warriors by jumping on their heads, biting their legs, wrapping his tail around their eyes and other such distractions. However, Loki's mischievousness was not directed solely to enemies of the Flying Dutchman, but would often time distract crew members of the Dutchman as well. Captain Jones is very fond of Loki, and so keeps him around much to the dismay of his crew. Being a part of the Flying Dutchman's crew, Loki fell under the same curse as the rest of the Flying Dutchman's crew after they desecrated Calypso's temple.

Model: Dark Maiden, Reaper Miniatures

Its black sails rotting and tattered, the Flying Dutchman no longer relies on the wind to propel it through the sea. As part of Calypso’s curse, the ship was imbued with a will of its own. It feeds off the souls of mortals, and uses this energy to propel itself. When the energy starts to wane, the ship howls madly, driving the crew of the Flying Dutchman to seek out the lands of the living in order to satiate the ship’s hunger. At times, the spirit of the Flying Dutchman will take on a physical form, possessing the figurehead of the Dutchman’s prow. In this form, the spirit is known as the Dark Maiden. Her presence on the battlefield fills warriors with dread, and the Dark Maiden strikes not only at a warrior’s physical body, but also the warrior’s mind and soul as well.

Model: Pistol Wraith, Privateer Press

The creature appeared from nowhere, firing its arcane pistols at the surprised defenders. A Kyrie warrior just barely escapes being hit, but a MacDirk warrior is not so lucky. The unearthly shells fired by the creature reduce the brave warrior to a charred skeleton. Another MacDirk warrior engages the creature, but the creature moves effortlessly away, firing its weapon as it moves, reducing yet another brave warrior to a skeleton. The Kyrie moves in to strike and the evil creature fires again. The Kyrie is hit, but only grazed, and the mighty Kyrie brings its hammer down onto the creature’s skull, smashing it completely and leaving nothing left of the creature but a handful of dust. Breathing heavily, his wound searing in unnatural pain, the Kyrie turns to find yet another of these foul creatures appearing, pistols yet again blasting away.

Models: Revenant Crew, Privateer Press

The sounds of cannon fire can be heard overhead, muffled by the water that surrounds and flows through their decayed bodies. The wail of the Dark Maiden can be heard in the distance. Silently and effortlessly they advance toward the besieged seaport, walking along the sea floor as the Flying Dutchman bombards the port from above. Ruthless in undeath as they were in life, the cursed pirates emerge from the sea unseen by those defending the port, and begin their bloody assault, cutting down all those that stand before them. Attacked from within and from without, their escape cut off, the port’s defenders soon find themselves in a hopeless situation.

Model: Tiamet, Rackham

On the world of Mariedian, a grief stricken scientist, in an attempt to save his fatally wounded daughter, placed her soul in the body of a Robota. In doing so, the scientist saved his daughters life, but at the cost of her humanity. His daughter become cold and uncaring, and as time passed, she saw herself and other Robota as superior to the organic life forms on Mariedian. Eventually she learned how to control other Robota and other machines, and seeing the combination of man and machine as the next logical step in the evolutionary process, she formed an army of Robota who began assimilating the souls of organic life forms into the cold bodies of the Robota, which became known as Soulborgs.

Cold and calculating, Golgotha was recruited by Utgar and assigned a command position in his army. With her powers to take control of other Soulborgs and with her Soulborg body enhanced by her Combat Harness, Golgotha has proven to be a valuable asset for Utgar.

Models: Bane Wights, Privateer Press

In ages past some of the inhabitants of Feylund buried their dead beneath mounds of earth or stone, together with their battle gear and worldly wealth. Powerful spells were cast over them to protect their hoard, and potent enchantments were placed over the dead so they could keep vigil over their resting place.

Although their bodies have decayed leaving only bones and tattered flesh, Wights are held together by magic so strong that it has endured for centuries. They wear ancient battle gear of bronze and black iron, corroded by time and dusty with the years. They carry bright Wight Blades of bronze or steel, weapons inlaid with evil runes and glistening with gold and silver. Their shriveled and horrific bodies are adorned with golden amulets and rings, precious metals and rare gem stones.

Powerful spells bind Wights to their tombs, but these spells can be broken by evil necromancers who can compel the inhabitants to fight on their behalf.

Model: Bane Wight, Privateer Press

Wight Lords are long dead heroes who are tied to the land of the living by magic. Although their bodies have decayed, Wight Lords are held together by magic so strong that it can last for many centuries. Like other Wights, they wear the ancient armor and carry the dreaded Wight Blades that they were buried with. Being kings of old, Wight Lords have greater influence on the undead than normal Wights, and often necromancers bind these once great heroes to their twisted will and place them in command positions in the ranks of the Undead. Evil magic courses through their decayed bodies, draining the life of living creatures that stand in their way.

Model: Necromancer, Pegasus Hobbies

Von Helsnicht was once a great and much feared wizard before turning to the dark art of necromancy. Forced to flee from the city of Arcadia on Feylund, von Helsnicht fled to the Forest of Sorrows in the land of Morindan. Over time, von Helsnicht gathered acolytes of shamans and together they created a huge army of zombies that marched forth and laid waste to the land and besieged Arcadia. However, the noble Arcadians proved too much for the evil necromancer, and it was at this time that Utgar intervened and brought him to Valhalla, saving him from the blade of Arcadia’s greatest champion. Von Helsnicht now serves Utgar, raising great numbers of Zombies to swell the ranks of Utgar’s forces and creating ever new Undead creatures.

Model: Draco Lich, D&D Miniatures

On the world of Icaria, east of the Dark Mountains, lies the Plain of Bones. Here the mighty dragons come to their final resting place when they know their time of dying is upon them. But even in death these mighty creatures do not rest peacefully. Recruited by Utgar, the necromancer Von Helsnicht comes to this land and summons these mighty creatures to fight once more. Carried upon tattered wings, their empty skulls filled with glowing ghost-lights, these huge and terrifying creatures have the power to break the back of any army.

Pretty good for your first cards and welcome to the site!
One thing you might want to change is that you have the Zombie Dragon as an Unique Squad and I think you probably meant Unique hero.

Take a run through my GIMP tutorial and you'll see that don't need anything but the GIMP.

Oh by the way - your cards, you've definitely made a nice start

Minimoose38 and whitestuff: thanks.

I wasn't too sure about points and such. Do you think the powers and stats are balanced?

I love the Cloud of Flies ability, but I think Pestilent Breath is a little too powerful. Four dice being doubled is a TON of attack power, and I would never use his regular attack over it.

I'd agree with both of those comments. Pestilent Breath with a range of 4 and the possibility of 8 attack would be overwhelming. You could keep it, up his normal attack to 6 and increase his cost a whole bunch or tame down the 4 attack doubled. Oh, and the Cloud of Flies, it reminds me a bit of Pigpen from the old Charlie Brown.

Yes, whitestuff, I caught that. But it had been previously mentioned, so I didn't feel the need to repeat it.

And as I forgot, welcome to the site, Mortis!

As soon as I wrote it, I realised it had been mentioned and I dived back in to edit it but I guess I wasn't quick enough. Sigh

The new cards look great, and appear to be priced reasonably. Where do you get the figures for the Wights?
