Re: The Book of Thanos
I know...
But he has never died and come back to life. He has now. In short order. So finally his Heroscape card matches the comics. After the fact. I mean, if his Heroscape 'Rejected By Death' power was "Every time you reveal an order marker, roll a D20, if you roll a 1, Thanos gets sad," then it would have matched the previous comics. Now it makes sense. Rules Lawyer. |

Re: The Book of Thanos
In a higher point army that you would use SuperHeros in, the norm for that is 600-1000.

Re: The Book of Thanos
This was first brought up in the Elementals Strategy and Discussion thread. And yes, it could work, but you need a LOT of points to pull it off. Something like:
80 Raelin RotV 80 Deathreavers x2 120 Kurrok 280 Fire Elemental x8 360 Thanos 920, 19 hexes But yes, this way you can roll for rejected by death three times in an OM, and bring him back in about a round on average. I don't have much experience with 900 point games, but I think this would be a very powerful build. |

Re: The Book of Thanos
Actually, according to the Marvel Rulebook the average is about 1250.

Re: The Book of Thanos
Still skeptical about a Thanos + Kurrock build. Many high priced units such as Marvel, Dragons, etc can fly and could just ignore Thanos and one shot or two shot Kurrock, thereby leaving a pretty weak army for the rest of the game.

Re: The Book of Thanos
Well, you'd still have Thanos. He's kind of an army by himself... And actually, the direct damage caused by Fire Elementals is really vicious against the Super Heroes because it circumvents their very high defense rolls.

Re: The Book of Thanos
I typically play 600-1200 point games for SuperHeroscape. Anything over 1200 points can sometimes get wonky.
I have played a lot of 1600 point games lately that were pretty fun, though ... C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Thanos
In general, "fly in and one or two shot Kurrok" is easier said than done. Even the fastest figures are going to see a full turn of attacks in there, plus a few disengagement attacks. Given the offensive output of the FEs, that could kill the hero before it closes. And in this sort of army, I'd be inclined to just surround Raelin+Kurrok with rats, which means melee foes don't really get the chance.
At any rate, the point in this thread is the benefit to Thanos moreso than the viability of the build. |
