Re: The Book of Weapon X (Design Phase)
Wow, that is so much better than what I was trying to put together. Thanks Bats! I was thinking something had to go, and was leaning towards dropping the auto wound, since some didn't love that. I can see that thematically as well, Professor X, Zemo, Mastermind and the other OM managers shouldn't be able to give Weapon X a turn. Seems like a good trade off to me. With the negative aspects in the design, I'd like to seem him priced at a bit of a bargain, to improve his draft-ability.
If I can get a round of thumbs up, especially from johnny and Hahma, who favored the original write up, and the cap on the attacks. I will get started on the initial. NAME = WEAPON X SECRET IDENTITY = JAMES HOWLETT SPECIES = MUTANT UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = SAVAGE PERSONALITY = FEROCIOUS SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 200 FRESH ADAMANTIUM INJECTION Start the game with 3 Wound Markers on this card. Figures subtract 2 from their defense dice when attacked by Weapon X. SAVAGE STATE OF MIND You may only take a turn with Weapon X after revealing a numbered Order Marker on this card. Before taking a turn with Weapon X, you must roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 7 or lower, choose an opponent. That opponent will now control Weapon X for the remainder of your turn, but will not be able to view any unrevealed Order Markers on his card. At the end of that turn, control of Weapon X returns to you. All Order Markers and figures that were on Weapon X’s Army Card will stay on his Army Card. When taking a turn with Weapon X, he must attack once for each wound marker on this card, if possible. HEALING FACTOR X After taking a turn with Weapon X, remove one Wound Marker from this card. At the end of the round, if you reveal an "X" Order Marker on any Army Card you control with the Healing Factor X special power, remove one Wound Marker from each Army Card you control with the Healing Factor X special power. Re: The Book of Weapon X (Design Phase)
Looks good! I riffed off of a lot of what quozl did previously for the record.
I'll be very surprised if 200 holds up, though. He'll definitely be under 280, but I think 230-240 is probably more likely. We'll see, though! C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Weapon X (Design Phase)
I wouldn't redo any Heavy Hitter or Squad tests either since his power really only comes into play in army tests.

Quote:
Without the wounding himself if he doesn't attack part of his power, I think he should be fully retested. I enjoy doing it, and I don't have many obligations or responsibilities Sat. So hopefully if the crew agrees on this write up, The Initial should be in by then at the latest. C3G team building links. |

Re: The Book of Weapon X (Design Phase)
I assume no nay votes means everyone's on board, and I'm good to go.
C3G INITIAL PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM NAME OF THE TEST UNIT Weapon X - THEME TEST/ Check to see if there are any powers or stats on the test unit card that does not accurately reflect the theme or likeness of what the character would and could do. Also consider destructible objects, and whether or not this characters powers should affect them. Pass. - MIRROR TEST/ Check to see if the unit were played against itself, if there would be any loops that would upset the balance of the Game. Pass. - BONDING TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing Bonding abilities to make sure there are no continual Bonding possibilities that do not stop appropriately or do not stop at all. This is to prevent loops in Bonding. Pass. - SYNERGIES TEST/ Compare the unit card with all possible currently existing synergies to make sure there are no factors that could break the game by making any unit too powerful or too weak. Pass. - POWER CHECK/ Consider the test unit and all existing units and all glyphs to compare to and check for any powers that could be over amplified and break the game. Each power must define when it takes place, who or what it affects, and What are the stipulations on the power if there are any. Pass. - FUN TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play. Pass. - FUN COMPETITIVE TEST/ Consider whether or not the design was fun to play against. Pass. - DRAFTING TEST/ Consider whether or not this design is worth drafting. Pass. - USAGE TEST/ Consider whether or not all of the powers on this card were used or at least usable. Pass. - STRATEGY TEST/ Consider whether or not the design offers any real strategy or interesting tactics to the overall game. Pass. Heavy Hitter or Mid-Level Hero Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 230 feels about right. - Give a brief overview. Weapon X is a beast when he gets into melee, able to get his points worth quickly, but that d20 roll keeps him from being reliable. So unreliable at times I modified his roll to 5. Hope that's cool to do, but it really needed it. Sometimes I hang back healing him up, before rushing in, sometimes not, depending on the opponent.
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? Even 220 feels high after this one. - Give a brief overview. Weapon X moves forward as the Agents set up on the hills close to SZ. He takes down a couple, and things are looking good. He then looses control, and is set up for a Kill Box which takes him out. Map: Broken Skyline. (all optional rules) Units: Shield Agents (x2) 220 points.
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Squad Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 220 feels high after this one too. He's a hero killer, not a squaddie killer though. - Give a brief overview. Weapon X makes all the important State of Mind rolls in this one, but numbers and a terrain advantage for his opponents spell his doom. He rolls poorly not helping the situation. Map: Sewer Labyrinth (no optional rules) Units: Street Thugs (x3) 225 points
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 220 is starting to look better. - Give a brief overview. Weapon X moves being activated by Cyclops works out swell. Weapon X takes down Thanagar, as he fully heals. Hawkman with his Hawkstrike and Undying Love key's in on him though and deals massive damage, then KO's him next chance he gets. Hawkman then continues to one shot KO the rest of the X-men in one turn each for the win. Map: Sewer Labyrinth (all optional rules) Units: Team 1. Weapon X, (230) Cyclops, (190) Phoenix, (230) Armor (100) Jubilee, (60) Angel (90) 900 points Team 2. Hawkman, (225) Hawkgirl (225) Hawkmen of Thanagar, (x3) (300) Hawkeye (150) 900 points
Spoiler Alert!
_____________________________________________________________ Army Test - Does it pass, Yes or No? Yes. - What should be the unit's point value? 230 feels decent after this one. - Give a brief overview. Weapon X does decent here but not spectacular. Avalanche lets him and the other Outcasts move up into position. He only gets one OM activation though, dealing decent wounds to Superboy, before being taken down, with an OM on him by Superboy. Map: Broken Skyline (All optional rules) Units: Team 1. Weapon X, (230) Destiny, (55) Magneto, (VII) (375) Avalanche, (145) Toad (95) Pyro (120) Armor (100) 1120 points Team 2. Cosmic Boy, (260) Saturn Girl, (220) Lightning Lad, (180) Superboy (Kal-El) (330) Brainiac 5 (130) 1120 points
Spoiler Alert!
I'd like to see him at 220, he can get much more than that in the right circumstances, but those are hard to consistently set up. Also there are 2 similar units at that exact price point, with synergy's. So if he is more than 220 he may not make it into many teams. Updated the SP with the newest design, Linked this Initial instead of the other one since it's a different write up. I didn't link quozl's test either since that data is also from the last write up.
