The Official Rockband Thread
Being a huge fan of Guitar Hero, I thought I would look into this game. It's a game similiar to Guitar Hero but has you and up to 3 other friends rock out in your own band that plays guitar (including bass), drums, and sings to songs of varying genres.
The lead and bass guitars are very similiar to guitar hero's, except they include solo buttons, located on the lower neck of the guitar. The drums come on a stand with the bottom half detachable for putting on a table or your lap, which includes four drums, side by side, and a pedal which you beat to in the gameplay of guitar hero. The microphone you use is the same format of Kareoke Revolution. Anyway, it looks like a really great fun game to play with friends said to be released in November, (in time for Christmas) too bad it's only coming out for Xbox360, PS3, and Wii |

Yes! It looks awesome. I wonder how much it'll cost for all that gear.
I never thought I'd be interested in these rhythm games till I tried Guitar Hero II at a Wal-Mart. Even though I sucked it was very entertaining. Now I've got Frets on Fire on the computer, its an open source game like guitar hero, just pick up your computer keyboard and jam! Found all the Guitar Hero songs converted for it using a torrent search page |

Yeah, the price-tag on this game is a HUGE turnoff for me. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet about the price, but for the whole shebang, i'm pretty sure you can look forward to paying upwards of 150-200 dollars for it. As if right now, i'm excietd for it, but not enough to buy it immediately (the potential price, plus the cost of a system to play it on )

I actually thought of spliting the price between 4 friends, one person buys the game, (w/ guitar) so therefore it would stay at their house, and three other people buy the other instruments. I don't know if they would agree though.

Full kit is $199.99 (Source: EB Games). Will be made for PS3, XB360 and Wii. Kit ships with 2 Guitars, Drums, Mic (which doubles as tambourine and MORE COWBELL!).
Provisions will be made for Co-Op mode via XB and PS3 Online collaboration (Online Multiplayer). And bands are beating down the door to get on the playlist. Only thing I don't like is the Redoctane/Harmonix split on this one, and the fact that EA Has it over Activision.... GENERATION 27: The first time you see this, copy it into your signature on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment |
