Before you painted you could have covered the piece with some spackle. That would have hidden the foam look and given you a good surface to paint on. Mod Podge would work as well.

Hmm... the Howitzer could use a little paint, but looks good!

That kind of foam has some cool shapes but like Radulfr said, it needs to be textured to get a really nice finished look to it. I have a piece I just never got around to using.

For dry brushing later, it helps to have some texture, like rough it up or spackle, then dry brush to make it rock and roll. Oh! Some of that plastic canvas stuff looks like fence when painted so there's another idea.

Great first piece! You'll get hooked, I bet!

Yeah, now that I see it, I'm definitely going to go to Micheal's (US craft store with stores also in Canada)and stock up on supplies. For this piece, I only used stuff i had around home. You're right, I'm hooked.

Worked some more on the howitzer painting, did more of the explosion. No pics, my camera's out of battery.

That is an awesome bunker. Is there a way to get onto the roof besides flying and if so, how many levels high is it. Great Job!
