Tutorial on How to Paint/Mod this Figure

_________________________________________________________________

Character Bio - Gilad is one of the three Immortal Brothers, alongside Armstrong and Ivar. Gilad is known as the Fist and Steel, a man gifted with immortality to protect a long line of mystics in tune with the Earth known as the Geomancers. He fights eternally against the forces of dark gods, such as Nergal and the Immortal Enemy. Gilad initially died 1000s of years ago, and a mysterious device known as "the Boon" was used by his brothers to resurrect him. This device granted the brothers their immortality.

Now bounded to the Geomancers, it is his sworn duty to protect the mystic lineage of the "Speaker for the Earth." When Gilad dies, he finds himself in his promised paradise that he will one day earn for serving the Geomancers. However, with his task yet to be complete, he must leave paradise and fight his way through the Deadside, to the Iron Doors that mark his return to life.

BATTLE THROUGH THE DEADSIDE
When Eternal Warrior is destroyed, begin your next turn with a total of 4 Wound Markers on this card. While Eternal Warrior is destroyed, whenever you reveal an Order Marker on a card you control, you may roll a combat die. If you roll a skull or a blank, remove one Wound Marker from this card. After removing the last Wound Marker from this card, place Eternal Warrior on an empty space adjacent to any figure you control.

TACTICAL INTERPOSE
After revealing an Order Marker on the card of an engaged figure you control, you may immediately move Eternal Warrior up to 2 spaces. If Eternal Warrior ends this move adjacent to an engaged figure you control, you may immediately switch that figure and Eternal Warrior. Switched figures never take leaving engagement attacks.

A COWARD'S REWARD
Eternal Warrior rolls one additional die against figures leaving an engagement with him.

Alright, mulling all this over, here's where I think I'm landing on this guy, with edits from the current SP in red.

FROM THE AFTERLIFE

SUPER STRENGTH
To review changes:

1) Life was upped, as he is quite resilient and long-lived, plus it helps with some concerns of him maybe come back too fast.

2) Move was upped. Gilad has shown a level of speed and agility I feel merits 6 move. He has been able to run on walls, deflect projectiles, and dodge projectiles.

3) Points set. He should be coming in higher than Ninjak, but still somewhat in the Conan ballpark, as if you boil it down he's kind of an Immortal Conan.

4) From the Afterlife has had its life upped to match, and he respawns on the battlefield. When Gilad resurrects, he basically wake right back up in his body. Time between the two existences (reality and his fight through the afterlife) aren't equivalent, so I think this is the better way to represent it thematically without placing like a marker where he died or something like that.

4a) In agreement with johnny, I decided against the blank delay. He, right now has a 50/50 chance of removing a wound each turn, and it'll take five marker reveals minimum to get him back. I'd imagine he's coming back on average two rounds after death, and some games barely have two rounds after people start dropping.

5) Decided to up the move of Interpose to 3. It can only trigger off OMs on engaged figures, so it isn't going to be something triggering every single turn, and this gives him a hair more mobility on uneven terrain. Obviously this can tick down if need be.

6) Super Strength. As discussed, he's low levels of this, but those who know him seem to generally agree that he qualifies on the low reaches of it.


After I give some folks time to review, I'll propose initial I think.

EDIT: Also, any preference among people on Protector vs Warrior? I think either fits.

Not much has changed here since LCW. I will say that he should probably have Super Strength, I believe. He's not Hulk strong or anything, but he's definitely moving around pretty heavy stuff and has the resilience we often attribute to SS.

Can he:

1. Lift/throw something the weight of a car?
2. Survive significant falls without major injury or acrobatics?
3. Knock people back when he punches them?

That’s our standard for SS.

Super Strength is tough for him. He's borderline. He's got a lot of "really strong" stuff, like throwing dudes around, punching through walls, breaking weapons. But not as much high end stuff. I pulled up a respect thread, and the most impressive thing he's done is tug around a giant head for a while, with great effort.

I personally don't think he'd warrant Super Strength but there's an argument to be made either way. I also don't think our gorillas warrant it, but that's already on the books. So I'll trust the LD here.

In general, design looks good per the last few workshoppings. Glad he's lean and mean here. Should be a lot of fun! Both his powers are very "active."

Quit kissing words.

Only know him from that one early arc of Archer and Armstrong, but this seems like a reasonable take.

I will say that he had a ruthlessness/love of battle there that doesn't feel like it's coming across in the current write-up.

I could go either way on SS. The durability feels right, but not the offensive parts of the power that come with the C3G optional rules.
