Larfleeze and Glom move up. Two-Face attacks 4x and inflicts 2 wounds on Larfleeze, while the Street Thugs fail. Larfleeze decides to get out of there and uses Glom to kill two Street Thugs. Two-Face and the Thugs fail to wound Glom. Glom eats another Thug. Penguin & the Thugs fail.

An initiative switch allows Penguin & the Thugs to finish off Glomulus. Larfleeze kills a Thug. Two-Face and the Thus fail. Larfleeze kills another Thug. Two-Face and the Thugs bring Larfleeze to 3 wounds. Larfleeze kills another Thug.

Two-Face puts a 4th wound on Larfleeze. Larfleeze kills another Thug. The Thugs bring Larfleeze to 5 wounds. Larfleeze kills another Thug. Two-Face kills Larfleeze.

Game called, I had some poor strategy this game. I should have sent in Daredevil first to limit the amount of Street Thugs. There was no point in attacking Two-Face or Penguin since Penguin had 3 investment markers, and I couldn’t disengage to reach Scarecrow or Joker without risking multiple wounds.

Larfleeze and Glom move up. Batman throws some bat shurikens at Glom but is blocked. Robin Tim attacks Glom and inflicts 2 wounds. Larfleeze engages Batman & Tim (inflicting one wound on Batman due to the Orange Central Power Battery) and inflicts a second wound on Batman with his normal attack. Batman & Tim attack Larfleeze, inflicting 2 wounds. Larfleeze inflicts a wound on Batman with his glyph, but then takes a wound from Shadow Strike. Batman & Tim attack but are blocked.

Alfred remote extracts Batman. Larfleeze puts 2 wounds on Tim. Rorschach moves up while Tim grapples over to Glom but whiffs. Larfleeze kills Tim Drake and spawns an Orange Construct to replace him. Rorschach & Nite Owl bring Larfleeze to 5 wounds. Larfleezes controls his constructs: Glom fails at Avarice Appetite then whiffs, then OC Tim puts a wound on Rorschach.

Glom again fails his roll then is blocked, but OC Tim kills Rorschach & converts him, robbing the Vigilantes of OM1. Larfleeze gets the heck outta there and again orders his OCs: Glom engages Robin Dick and fails his roll then is blocked, while OC Rorschach engages Nite Owl and inflicts a wound thanks to Shakedown. Batman & Robin bring down Glomulus. OC Rorschach kills Nite Owl and converts him, while OC Tim puts a wound on Dick. Batman & Robin bring OC Tim to 2 wounds.

OC Rorschach attacks Batman but takes a wound to Shadow Strike, while OC Tim whiffs. Batman kills OC Rorschach while Robin whiffs. The OCs fail their attacks. Batman finishes off OC Tim. OC Nite Owl puts another wound on Dick. Batman & Robin finish off the last OC.

Larfleeze moves up, then Batman throws some shurikens from low ground and gets the last wound.

Winter Soldier picks Larfleeze as his Mark. Lex & the Avengers duke it out, with Black Widow inflicting 3 wounds on Lex then Lex killing Captain America in 2 attacks, spawning an OC. Black Widow puts 2 wounds on OC Cap. Lex puts 2 wounds on Widow.

Black Widow fails. Lex puts 2 wounds on Widow. Widow finishes off OC Cap. Lex kills Widow, spawning another OC. Winter Soldier shoots Lex, who deflects it back. Lex puts another wound on Winter Soldier.

Winter Soldier burns another battery but gets a wound deflected to do so. Lex is blocked. Spidey takes a wound to burn Lex’s last battery marker. Larfleeze orders his constructs: OC Widow puts 2 wounds on Falcon, Glom moves up. Spidey puts 2 wounds on OC Widow. Larfleeze orders his constructs: OC Widow puts a wound on Spidey, Glom fails his chomp roll but puts a wound on Falcon with his normal attack.

Spidey puts a wound on Glom. Larfleeze orders his constructs: OC Widow puts a wound on Winter Soldier, Glom fails. Winter Soldier kills OC Widow. Glom bites 2 wounds on Spidey then Spidey web-slings away. Spidey puts 2 wounds on Larfleeze. Larfleeze has Glom kill Winter Soldier, which heals Glom’s wound.

Glom fails his chomp but attacks Spidey and finishes him. They then finish off Falcon easily.

Prof. X sends Iceman & Wolverine up. Lex puts 3 wounds on Iceman. Iceman fails, then Wolverine rolls 4 skulls so Lex uses a battery to kill Iceman and spawn an OC. Lex disengages Wolverine to attack Prof X, who blocks the attack. Jean Grey puts a wound on Lex while Wolverine whiffs. Lex is blocked by Psychic Defense X.

Jean & Wolverine fail. Lex wounds Jean. Jean wounds Lex with Telekinesis then takes a wound to deflection, while Wolverine burns the last battery, putting a third wound on Jean. Lex fails. Wolverine kills Lex, while Quicksilver fails against OC Iceman. Larfleeze enters, ordering his constructs: Glom fails while OC Iceman puts a wound on Quicksilver.

Glom & OC Iceman manage to kill Quicksilver with some lucky rolls, spawning the second Orange Construct. Jean & Wolverine put 2 wounds on Glom. Glom uses Avarice Appetite to kill Jean, bypassing Psychic Defense X and healing a wound. OC Iceman attacks Prof X who blocks with Psychic Defense X. Wolverine kills Glomulus. OC Iceman disengages (taking a wound) then puts 3 wounds on Prof X, while OC Quicksilver puts 3 wounds on Wolverine. Wolverine kills OC Quicksilver.

Larfleeze kills Wolverine. The Orange Lanterns then finish off the Professor easily.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: My first two games were pretty discouraging for Glom & the Orange Lanterns, but the second two games showed how powerful they can be.

Glomulus will not be balanced around how well he is individually, because he makes Larfleeze a lot better simply by existing. All the Orange Lanterns have to do is kill one opposing hero to get an Orange Construct, then Larfleeze can start using two Constructs at a time. Lex is a big help for this so as to not endanger Larfleeze early on.

Glomulus himself is a mixed bag of usefulness. He either did very well or pretty poorly.
Game 1: killed 3 street thugs
Game 2: did nothing except draw some fire
Game 3: 1 wound on Falcon, Avarice Appetite on Spidey, Avarice Appetite on Winter Soldier, 1 wound on Spidey.
Game 4: put 2 wounds on Quicksilver with normal attack, 1 wound on Jean with Avarice Appetite

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Glomulus is a fun character, since he always gets his Avarice Appetite roll plus a weak normal attack. He’s fast enough to enter the battle quickly and weak enough defensibly to not be too much of an annoyance for the opponent.

I never had Glomulus eat a glyph despite opportunities with the maps & opponents. I didn’t play with any DOs to eat.

I think we need some more army tests to determine whether the Orange Lanterns are balanced with Glomulus. The slaughter of the last two games suggest that army is a pretty powerful build.

I haven't played with any of the Orange Lanterns so I can't really comment on the OL army builds, but I will say it looks like he's best use is vs. more powerful 4 & 5 Life heroes. 3W on Spidey, 2W on Winter Soldier, & 1W vs. Falcon is a good top level performance. He only had that strong of a showing once though, the other 3 games pulls the average performance down.

Wow, above and beyond expectations with this playtest! I think just one more tester would be good since you got in so may games here and the builds are very limited with Orange Lanterns, but I agree with all of your points based on my experiences with him.

Round 1 – Armies collide as Glomulus munches on Mikey, with Larfleeze landing the killing blow, allowing the first OC to hit the field. Glomulus takes a LEA to try and get Leo, but fails to hurt him.
Round 2 – Lanterns taken initiative. Glomulus lands a perfect 13 on Leo to deal 2 wounds. Turtles manage to hit 1 damage on Larfleeze. Glomulus bites Raph for 2, and the Stolen ID gives him 2 more. The constructs kill Raph, and Glomulus bites 2 wounds into Donnie.
Round 3 – The last of the turtles die in the first turn.

Who won and how many wounds did they have? Orange Lanterns win. 2 wounds on Larfleeze, 1 on Glomulus, 0 on Stolen Identities.

Round 1 – Larfleeze gets an end of round kill on IW when Mr. F locks down Glomulus, spawning a Construct with her powers.
Round 2 – The constructs deal 4 damage to Mr. F, with Glomulus dealing 3 of them. Glomulus finishes off Mr. F. Torch takes a wound. Glom fails to bite Iceman.
Round 3 – Torch burns the Stolen ID and Larfleeze for 2 each. Glom bites Torch twice, and with the help of the ID, kills him.
Round 4 – The stolen IDs kill Iceman, and a Supernova begins the roasting of Thing, who is bitten by Glom.
Round 5 – Thing goes down to the Constructs.

Who won and how many wounds did they have? Lanterns win. 4 wounds on Larfleeze, 2 wounds on 2 constructs, 0 wounds on last construct, 2 wounds on Glom. Lex Luthor unmoved.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Glomulus helps the Lanterns be aggressive, and be aggressive fast. Successfully taking down support figures with the appetite can be huge to swing things. I was rolling really well in the second game, with the only 13/14 coming against the Super Strengthless turtles. I would say up a bit, or at least up the roll again.
GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: He’s a fun unit in the Orange build, helping them get hyper-aggressive fast. I’d rather see the roll upped a tad than up his points, as he and Larfleeze round each other out points-wise nicely. Game 2, momentum was just really strong. I may have missed a kill in game 2 healing Glom, but the defense boost he had made him too hard to crack.
