It happens very slowly and then all at once. Peyton Manning was the best QB in the league at age 38 in 2014 until he got a seemingly minor leg injury, but he never really recovered and was a shadow of himself for the next season and a half.

Brady has now had three mediocre games in a row. It's entirely possible we'll look back in a few years and mark the shoulder injury he had against the Browns as that innocuous moment where he was never the same again. Probably not, but entirely possible. The dude is 42, and speaking as a fellow 42 year-old, you can't count on bouncing back from an injury.

Yeah, well the Bears did play well and Trubisky had a fantastic game.

Amazing how actually having a tight end in the game helps an offense, and letting Trubisky use his legs on occasion helps.

I really hope y'all hang onto Trubisky for the foreseeable future. The division feels a lot more winnable when you guys don't have a real QB.

Not that our team is any good, but have to hang onto hope where I can find it, you know?

It's been a very long time since we've had a real quarterback, and even then it was briefly. You guys have had areal quarterback for awhile.

Detroit still hasn't won a playoff game since January 5th, 1992. So our quarterback situations over the years haven't really helped the Lions

Pretty sure we won in 1991, not 1992. And we've pretty much only had one good QB since Bobby Layne in the 50s, and his name is Matt Stafford. But, yeah, he hasn't won a thing, sadly.
