Overlord Heroscape

As I finished ordering some Halo ActionClix figures from Ebay to use with the amazing Halo Heroscape cards that SamuraiLord is creating (SamuraiLord's Halo Custums), I thought about how cool it would be to make characters from one of my other favorite video games into Heroscape characters. That game is Overlord!


For those who have never played Overlord before, you play as the Overlord (the tall guy in the picture) and command an army of Minions (the short guys in the picture) as you conquer a twisted fairy-tale like land and slay the now corrupted heroes that killed the previous Overlord.

I have just finished my Overlord Heroscape custom cards, and I have put them in the first post of this thread! Hope all of you enjoy them! I left the information about the figures for each card vague so that any figures you want can be used with the cards. Here are the figures that I am currently using. They are all Dungeons & Dragons miniatures that I picked up for less than $13 at my local board game store. I use 3 of the same figures for each minion card:

THE OVERLORD / Royal Guard:


BROWN MINIONS / ACHERON GOBLIN:


RED MINIONS / Carnage Demon:


GREEN MINIONS / Greenspawn Sneak:


BLUE MINIONS / Bluespawn Ambusher:


If anyone else has any cool (and hopefully cheap) figure ideas, please let me know.

Yet again awsome customs Yet again my budget keeps me from pursuing these
But now I can pursue world domination (even if it is a fairy world)

Little bit of a bump here, but I really like these, actually.

I think I might like them more if they didn't have the Overlord theme attached, really- but I love the concept of the one dude who can summon all these fairly powerful swarm squads. Great stuff.

Thanks Melwing17, I am glad that you like them!

The Overlord and his Minions are a lot of fun to both use yourself and to fight against. Together, they form a very powerful army, but if the Overlord is killed, then the minions will often fall quickly.

Now, THESE are some great customs!!!! My favorite are the green ones.

However, the brown ones should be weaker. they are easily the strongest of all minions. If they are strongest in-game as well, that's fine, but I thought brown was the grunt.

Heh heh, some pretty cool customs you got there. Too bad there aren't more accurate figures you could use as the minions- it would be awesome to see some figures behind these.

Anyway, the only thing I would change is a minor quibble: Personally speaking, "amphibious" sounds better than "amphibians" to me for one reason or another.

Still, great job, I'll +rep you for this.

Thank you Claws of Death. The Greens are my favorite too, both in the Overlord video games and in Heroscape. Actually, in the games the Browns are the strongest of all the minions (especially if they can get their hands on some weapons). While the other minion types are your specialists, your Browns are your all around warriors and they have both the highest defense and the highest attack of any minion type (except for Greens when they are assinating large monsters).

Thanks Vilsara. I wish that they sold some real miniatures for the characters from the game, as that would be amazing to see on a Heroscape battlefield. But at least the DnD minis were cheap (less then $13 for everything) and they look pretty close. Also I had considered using "amphibious", however that made me think of vehicles, while "amphibians" made me think of frogs. However, either word would have worked well.

i currently use my Deltora Quest Gorl Miniature as the Overlord.
which looks cool as he has his hand in the sort of pose he does for casting Energy Bolt.
any way great work wish i could have responded to your work sooner.

The minions all say common squad... but how many are there per squad? Either I'm missing something or a bunch of people before me did.

Thanks for the compliment, Lord AndraK. That figure that you mentioned sounds pretty cool. Is it sold somewhere online, and if so, how much does it usually cost?

I mention in the second post that I use 3 minions per common squad, but I guess that I should also put that information by the cards. Thanks for pointing that out, kaiyu0707.
