Units: On Deck Design with Daleks VS Spider-Man (Otto), Spider-Woman (Ashley Barton), Spider-Man (Assassin), Spider-Man (Takuya), Leopardon (1000)

The Spiders were able to get into better position, but the Daleks didn't care taking out Assassin and Ashley quickly with some Exterminate rolls while only losing 3 Daleks. Leopardon pops out and takes out another Dalek with his Arc turn strike, then Otto uses one of the Street Lights as a bat to take down Cyrax inflicting a wound on himself and Leo and taking out a Dalek with a bomb. The last 3 Daleks take down Leopardon and put a wound on Takuya.

Overall the lights had a small impact on the game. Rarely wanted to risk the auto-wound on Spider-verse characters for an autoskull.

Ok this was a sweet game, 3 Street Light got used at bats, the swing part was mostly irrelevent, but the Max Carnage crew was nasty. They ripped the Thunderers apart. I thought the Thunderers were going to destroy because they took out Carrion early, but then next thing I knew it was down to 2 Thunderers and Cyborg Supes having 1 life against Demogoblin and Doppelganger with 1 wound each. Unfortunately [redacted] and the gang fell quickly from there.

The autoskulls got used more this game and it did lead to 2 wounds on the Carnage team but they were the aggressors so it didn't feel like a problem.

Units: On Deck Unit, Red Skull (II) and Gorgon (780) VS Spider-UK, Spider-Girl (Anya), Silk, Spider-Man (Assassin)

Red Skull chose Gorgon.

[redacted], Red Skull and Gorgon all advanced together. [redacted] got the first attack off with his SA which landed 3 wounds on Silk and 1 on Spider-UK after rerolling 2 blanks into 2 skulls. The Spiders spread out after that and took on Gorgon, actually taking him down before the end of the second round. [redacted] used his attack power on Silk and was able to kill her when she missed her Spider-Sense roll. UK fell to Red Skull but Assassin finished off [redacted]. Leaving just Red Skull against Anya (who did nothing relevant the whole game) and a wounded Assassin. Anya finally rolled skulls on an attack and ended the game.

No one used these as a bat this game, but the free movement was nice a couple of times.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Low impact and thematic. Feels fine to me.

Whenever an adjacent figure with the Super Strength special power attacks an adjacent figure, you may destroy this figure to add 1 automatic skull to that attack.

WIRED IN
Before this Street Light is moved or when it is destroyed, roll one unblockable attack die against each adjacent figure without the Electrically Charged special power. After this street Light is moved, remove it from the game.

Pink Ranger starts in the Gundam with the Amulet. Hawkeye puts an Avenger marker on each of his Unique Hero allies. Four Street Lights are placed around the map on grassy areas a few hexes from the fountain, evenly spaced.
Round 1: Initiative Fan Four. Zombie advances. The Fan Four roll well and all advance together.
Blue Ranger moves up slowly.
Zombie advances. Mister Fantastic moves up alone.
Gundam moves forward with Pink Ranger in it but can’t hit Mister Fantastic with 4 skulls from the special attack. Zombie moves forward and Hawkeye moves up three spaces.
Zombie advances. Human Torch blasts Gundam for two wounds from height after Cover Fire misses by one. Mister Fantastic can’t hit the Gundam from height.
Hawkeye can’t hit Mister Fantastic with a 5 skull special attack.

Round 2: Initiative Rangers. Gundam pulls up a Street Light, which zaps it for a wound, and swings it at Mister Fantastic from height disadvantage using Ranger Analysis for help. It ends up being a 5 skull attack with the auto skull and Mister Fantastic just blocks it with 8 defense dice. Ouch. Zombie moves. Hawkeye tries his special attack on Mister Fantastic and gets 5 skulls and Mister Fantastic AGAIN blocks it on 8 defense dice. Ouch.
Zombie hits Mister Fantastic for an auto wound. Thing can’t hit Hawkeye. Invisible Woman can’t hit Hawkeye. Mister Fantastic punches the Gundam for two wounds.
Gundam smashes Invisible Woman for three wounds. Hawkeye fails to finish her on Zombie’s turn.
Human Torch Flames On Zombie for two wounds then has his turn ended with Cover Fire. Same with a big Clobber from Thing. Mister Fantastic KO’s the Gundam and Pink Ranger comes tumbling out.
Hawkeye puts a fourth wound on Invisible Woman.
Mister Fantastic punches Zombie for two wounds.

Round 3: Initiative Fan Four. Mister Fantastic punches out Zombie.
Even with the help of Ranger Analysis, Pink Ranger fails to get the last wound on Invisible Woman. She Combat Flips to keep Ranger Cover Fire useful.
Thing Clobbers Hawkeye. Mister Fantastic wraps up Pink Ranger, but can’t hit her.
Pink Ranger somehow sneaks in two wounds on Mister Fantastic.
Human Torch takes a swipe, Flames On Blue Ranger for two wounds, then catches Blue Ranger whiffing and KO’s him. Thing Clobbers Pink Ranger for three wounds, then rolls 7 skulls on the follow up and finishes her.

Unit Summary: The Street Light was a fun, small touch. I think in practice people will probably mostly try to stay away from them since the unblockable for being adjacent when it’s destroyed seems much worse than getting hit with the auto wound from it. Only one Light was interacted with here and it was to the detriment of the figure who picked it up. I almost wonder if it needs to be 2 auto skulls to make the trade off seem more worthwhile? (After discussing with Tickle, he made a change to let using Lamppost Swing remove the Street Light instead of Destroying it, so using this effect doesn't electrocute the swinger)

Pink Ranger starts in the RX. There are six Street Lights lining the road.
Round 1: Initiative Power Guardians. Robot carries forward Blue Ranger.
Spider-UK has his whole team move forward and there are four immediate uses of Pendulum Swing.
Robot has Gundam and Takuya advance.
Otto swings forward and fails an attack on Robot from height disadvantage.
Robot blasts Otto for a wound from height. Gundam can’t hit Otto even with the auto skull from the Street Light.
Miles hits the Gundam for a wound from height.

Round 2: Initiative Power Guardians. Robot rolls all skulls from height and KO’s Otto. Peter gets the Order Markers. Gundam advances and fails an attack on Miles.
Spider-UK advances and hits Gundam for a wound.
Gundam smacks Spider-UK for four quick wounds.
Peter fails to hit the Gundam from height. Miles double attacks the Gundam for just enough wounds to destroy it.
Robot blasts an Evergreen Tree into Peter for one wound. Pink Ranger rips up a Street Light and KO’s Spider-UK with it.
Peter whiffs an attack from height on Pink Ranger. Miles hits Pink Ranger for two wounds. They both flip, giving her height advantage now, and she blocks his follow up.

Round 3: Initiative Power Guardians. Robot can’t hit Peter and even with the help of Ranger Analysis, Pink Ranger’s bow can’t hit Peter.
Miles can’t hit Pink Ranger with either of his attacks.
Robot blasts Miles for two wounds. Pink Ranger can’t hit him with her bow.
Peter can’t hit Pink Ranger.
Robot hits Miles for two wounds. Pink Ranger finishes Miles with her bow.
Peter backs up and hits Robot for three wounds. Spider-Cat falls prey to the first Cover Fire hit in 11 rolls, then he fails to hit his own roll and only has one life this game.

Round 4: Initiative Spiders. Finally. Peter tags Robot for a fourth wound.
Robot can’t hit Peter. Takuya follows Ranger Analysis and punches Peter for two wounds.
Peter KO’s Robot.
Robot had OM2.
Peter can’t hit Blue Ranger.
Takuya can’t get past a 5 shield roll from Peter.

Round 5: Initiative Power Guardians. Billy’s own analysis and an all skull roll still can’t hit Peter.
Peter can’t hit Pink Ranger with a Street Light.
Pink Ranger snipes Peter with her bow for a wound, then hits the unblockable to finish him.

Unit Summary: Spiders didn’t win initiative until this one was out of hand and Otto fell way too fast. The Street Lights were a small, fun touch with them that felt on point thematically. Got in a few swings here too, which was neat.

UNIT SUMMARY: I love Pendulum Swing. I love the revised Lamppost Smash without it electrocuting you to swing it. Wired In is a cool power that can be useful for someone like Avengers Hulk who wants to throw you against it. It can also be a neat way to make certain points of maps more dangerous. I’m happy with how this one plays.

Three is usually the magic number. I understand the standards not being as high considering there are no points associated, but might still be good to get one final perspective in on them since they're not really slowing anything down (don't take up a design slot and can be tested alongside something else).
