Re: The Book of Judge Death (Design Phase)
I like the edits & I like the Death never Dies power. I agree that the life should come down.

Quote:
I know I am coming off a bit defensive(my apologies) but all of my statements are based off of playtesting. Until you play him it is hard to 'see' how he functions. There are many ways to thwart him. I have no problem tweaking him down if the playtests show it to be necessary. With Judge Death a lot of his effectiveness is based off of Dimensional Teleport. If you can inflict three or four wounds on Death, he is left floundering for the rest of the game, unless someone else can heal him. When you destroy all the other Unique Undead Heroes, Death Never Dies is negated. Then you can destroy Judge Death at will. Also if you destroy the figure with JD's 'spirit', Death is all done, unless it is Grundy or another Undead that can return. There are some really good anti-undead figures, both heroes and squads. Androids are immune to both Death Sentence and Death Never Dies. My main concern with him is Gentleman Ghost, The Crow, and the other Dark Judges. I am not sure how he will function with those figures. The Dark Judges will make Death much stronger but they may have to absorb that cost. If they ever all get made, having four figures with Dimensional Teleport will be tough to deal with but they will all still have the weakness of losing teleport when they have three or four wounds. This brings me to why I do not want to lower JD's Life. If he has Life 4 then Dimensional Teleport is only negated when he has exactly 3 wounds. This feels like too narrow of a window to even bother having the negating aspect of the power included. I really like that mechanic because it is based off of solid comic book theme. Anderson destroys Fear's teleporter, leaving him stranded and vulnerable. As it stands at Full Life- JD may teleport 1-2 wounds- JD may teleport and heal 3-4 wounds- No teleport, no heal 5+ destroyed Life 5 is critical for this mechanic, any increase or decrease messes with these windows and I like the two wound window. I could see dropping his Defense by one or even two if need be. Honestly, I think he is worth about 270 as-is but a little up cost is fine as I see his value increasing down the road. If he tests over 300 then we will certainly need to lower his Defense. I will re-send this link to the heroes. Anyone have a better Personality than Genocidal? My question with Genocidal is, does he behavior like or similar to Hitler?

Re: The Book of Judge Death (Design Phase)
Basically, the deal with JD is he kills EVERYONE. So..... No.

Re: The Book of Judge Death (Design Phase)
His only reason for existence is to wipe out all life.
I think it fits but I would like to find something else. Necrotic? That may be better for Judge Mortis. Do you have a suggestion orgsbane? I would like to hear your thoughts on the power set. Does it fit the theme of Judge Death for you? In that case, I'd go Homicidal.

Here are some possibilities that I pulled form a Thesaurus and some have been used before, but in a different manner, but I think they still fit:

Re: The Book of Judge Death (Design Phase)
I agree that dropping defense by 1 would make more sense than dropping life by 1, should it be needed.
Malevolent (Anti-Monitor) and Nihilist (Hasbro Thanos, Annihilus, Cyborg Superman) would seem like decent personality choices. |

Thanks. I like Malevolent.
Can you think of any over powered combos for Judge Death dok? My tests have been mostly all Undead on his team and I want to make sure I am not missing a nasty combo. I think I like Malevolent or Nihilist the best here.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Judge Death (Design Phase)
At 1000 points, I think that JD/Grundy/Magneto/Mastermind combo is a pretty strong option. You can move them all together in the early OMs (OM on Mastermind, bonds with Magneto, tosses JD and Grundy, or Grundy twice). Then send Death out on a Teleport, bring Grundy up, and cause trouble. If your opponent tries to get cute then you can snipe with Magneto or toss them around.
Death, Grundy, and Iron Patriot seems like a fun combo, too. At 1500, I might add Frankenstein, and then more good support figures. You could drop Magneto and set up something even more turtle-ish, too. I can't comment on Gentleman Ghost or The Crow as they came through ERB before my time.
