With the war escalating bringing carnage and lawlessness Jandar finds himself needing to find a way to bring order to the worlds. His search for order brings him to Dodge City where he finds just the men he needs.





Deputies are intended to be a squad of three I just dont know how put pictures on the cards

For putting pictures on cards: I use superfrog’s guide with GIMP & xorlorf’s X-2.

As for the Marshal Wyatt and Deputies of Dodge City customs, the points look reasonable. It hard to be sure because there aren’t a lot of range squads that bond.

Some of the names of the powers don’t quite make sense to me though. Why does Gun Smoke give an extra attack, and why does it require a wound to be dealt? Doesn’t Gun Smoke happen after every shot? When I first saw it I thought it would be a defensive power like a dodge or anti-range ability. The more metaphorical name of Hammer of Justice isn’t really Heroscape style IMO. The effect makes sense but the name makes it seem more of a paladin power. Both powers have thematic names, but then don’t follow through on the theme. (Sorry I know you had the name issue in a different way with the SoV, we do more than comment on names lol)

For Marshal’s Orders, is there a reason being a Marshal isn’t a requirement to bond? Do you want it be more flexible in the future with other resolute humans?

One thing to consider is that because Hammer of Justice is army card based, it makes these guys more of a big hero or common squad killer. Which is fine (and nice for mixing up the meta) but does make them not very efficient at defeating a lower point hero, where most cowboy-genre units end up. (because you’d only get the attack against 10ish% of your opponents army by points where it could be used against maybe more than half by points if used on someone else)

Also you currently have Marshal Wyatt as a common squad

I mostly agree with Scytale on Lyrical inspiration. I also suggest changing Lyrical Inspiration to say “Lyrical Inspiration can only be used once per turn” instead of “Music Markers can only be used once per turn”. The first time I read it I thought you could use as many markers as you wanted but only one time per turn. I quickly realized I was wrong but I think the words change makes it slightly more clear.

Thanks for the feedback! these figures are based off the show gunsmoke staring James Arnes as Matt Dillon and he was based off the Marshal Wyatt Earp so thats why i named the ability gunsmoke just to kinda pay homage to the old show. I did see that i had him listed as a common i forgot to change it when i switched over from making the deputies LOL. I didn't want the deputies to bond with just Marshal figures cause i have plans to design a sheriff figure and another deputy hero based on the same show. Im also not the greatest at naming things so the names arent a big problem to me if they dont fit the theme they are always changeable if a bet name comes up

I couldn't figure how to get the different options to stack like Cal's so help there would be appreciated.

For Bat Materson, an attack during you opponents turn might run into some confusing interactions, something to be aware of.

Also the way it’s currently written Gambler has no effect on Gunfighter. Do you want his abilities to interact or not really? I’m asking because they could easily interact (adding more depth to Bat Materson) with a small change. If you want them to interact you could change the duration to “until the next time you reveal an order marker”.

I like these guys, their cool and thematic. 'bout time we have gambler hero. Just a couple things that crossed my mind

There's an odd disconnect being made between your Dodge City units and the rest of Heroscapes Lawmen. If you gave the heroes the Lawman class, you could change Marshall's orders to say "take a turn with a Lawman hero you control" or even "take a turn with a Resolute Lawman hero you control" which would allow you to include both your marshal and your sheriff in the bonding. I understand if you want to keep the Deputies as "Deputies" for the sake of Marhsall's Justice though.

I like that the Deputies only have 1 attack given that they are ranged and have bonding.

Name change suggestion for Hammer of Justice: Warrant or Bounty

Only other thing is Gambler. When it comes to d20 abilities, it's typically a good idea to keep the beneficial outcomes on the higher end of the roll, and negative outcomes on the lower end. I understand what you were going for, and it may in fact still work here, but if you ever have another ability that adds to the roll (glyph of lodin for example) it's gonna feel rough to roll higher than you expected and get punished for it. It may actually discourage the player from taking the glyph (admittedly, that's relatively niche). If you've considered that, and that's kind of what you were going for, then no problem.

Well met!

Very interesting! Just one question. Gunfighter has no Range restriction. If Bat is attacked from Range 7, and his Range is only 6, how does he shoot back beyond his range?

P.S.: His Class is Sherif?

Yea these heros are all real life law men from dodge city and Bat was a big gambler and gunfighter and he was also the sheriff during Wyatt Earps time as marshal
I might have to chage his ability to shoot back at his range for continuity

My goal was to keep the other law me out so that they couldnt bond with the deputies as is they can bond with clayton wyatt and bat. I was trying to make the gambler ability to be as random as i could to make it feel like you really are gambling. i also do like the name change idea and will Definity take that if its OK with you
