Marro Warrior vs. Mass Line (price)
Why are the Mass Line guys so much more expensive than the Marro Warriors (70 vs 50). Their Marro actually have better stats. One of the Mass special abilities brings them up to a tie with the Marro. Their other gives them +1 attack better than the Ms.
Since the Mass lack water clone, which is a pretty powerful ability, why do they cost more? Is the extra point of attack that the Line _can_ have worth both water clone and an extra 20 points? |

4th Mass are common. Have you tried 2+ squads of the Minutemen? They are a sure bet you've got some power in your draft.
Get them on high and use Wait then Fire and you're attacking at 4 with four figures. They are such a potent common squad. And they have the uncanny ability to pull off some great miracles, but that's just icing on the cake. |

Soldier enhancement from marcus (move and adjancy attack)
Valiant army bonus (defense) Wait and Fire (attack bonus) Common If these guys were 50 pts they would be severly broken. |

Thanks, I hadn't thought about how they are common and you can have multiples.

Hex_Enduction_Hour Yes-- more is better.
R˙chean Nice bonuses -- even better. The 4th Mass offers more flexibility with each variation offering an additional bonus. That alone makes it appealing and worth the 70pts IMO. The marro is nice, but it's kinda flat b/c there is little variation that you can really play a marro. And I could be severly biased, but 70 points is not alot considering you can have 5 sets of them staring down some serious intimidation factor on your opening move. |

On the other hand, I suppose the Marro warriors would be underpriced if they were a common squad.

Common marro warriors would be impossible as you could eventually clone an infinite number of them (as one can have any number of common squad figures). They would, indeed, be underpriced at 50 pts.
That might make for an interesting variant though- keep them unique but with unlimited water cloning not dependant on the number of figures on the actual card. Maybe played as a single player test to try out different armies and test their mettle. There was a similar test in the old days of Magic where you pit your deck against a plague rat infinite spawn opponent and tried to win in so many rounds. I've been looking for some variants on that test for heroscape to try out armies and see if the composition works well. Some how I doubt that it will work the same, though. |
