Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
I'd start him at 240. I feel like Cap is a pretty good comparison point for him.

I'm good with starting him from 220-240 personally

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
Are we still voting here?
Like Superheroes and Comics?

I think we are waiting on the initial PT to be completed.

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
Question...when using Quick Arrows, doe Taskmaster take no LEAs or just no LEAs from figures he was "engaged with when he begins his move?"

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
So I did some Heavy Hitter (1v1) tests tonight, and I immediately see a small problem. Taskmaster has 4 factors;
-A slightly above average move -Stealth Dodge -A long range SA -The ability to move with disengage after using said SA That make him a majorly effective kite, especially against anyone who can't fly or has a low range. As an example, he fought Shang-Chi on Ivy's Greenhouse. He was able to run around the map in a circle, firing arrows at Shang-Chi and literally not getting attacked once himself. Because TM kept winning initiative it was an actual mathematical impossibility for Shang-Chi to catch him. Now obviously in a real game, the opponent has all sorts of ways to counteract this, like using multiple figures to corner him. But still, I see this being a major cost driver, and I'm not sure "running the enemy in circles shooting dinky arrows until they fall" is a particularly thematic or fun strategy for this character. So do we want to stop playtesting and edit a bit, or do we want to just keep pressing forward? I'd love to hear from anyone with more experience with this sort of thing, and of course from our LD. |

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
I wonder if it wouldn't make sense to change out his Quick Arrows SA for something more anti-squad, like Explosive Arrow SA (lower range, no added movement).
Edit: Of course, that's probably going to pale in comparison to the shield toss, right? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
I honestly think between Shield Toss and Swordplay he’s got the multi-attacking covered.

Diamond Tipped Arrows reuse? A riff off Skill Shot or Piercing Shot?

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
If we’re doing a riff, I think it should be from a Marvel archer. (So a Hawkeye, basically) During brainstorming I suggested a razor arrow based off one of the effects from Clint I’s SA, and I still like that.

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
Why not, like, he only gets the movement if he rolls a skull? Or doesn't roll a blank? Or something like that - just make it not automatic.

Re: The Book of Taskmaster - VOTE for Initial Playtesting
Yeah, I like him having a movement option. I'd lock the movement part down to only working when some condition is met, before anything else. Something like what johnny suggested, or even going all the way to only moving when he inflicts a wound.
