Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
This guy is definitely an intimidating figure to see across the board. However, a movement of 4 makes him extremely easy to stay away from for ranged units. There are a lot of options in C3G to keep Darkseid from being too scary, but if he gets in there, someone is probably going to die.
I think in most cases I would send him out early game, and just try and let him punch through the enemies front line. It’s not uncommon for him to make his point cost back against a few 150-200 point units. |

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
Yeah, I think in the modern metagame, Darkseid likes two things:
1. Screens (set up a bunch of figures to lock people down and give him time to get in the mix or, probably better 2. Teleporters (there are plenty of figures that can help him zip forward into the action and get into battle a lot faster) If you could send him up with a team, lockdown figures like Blob are nice pairings to prevent him from being kited. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
A little bit from Soundwave. The bigger, more important one, is Arthrian Invaders. They're probably the best choice for a screen for him, at least until Parademons have better synergy with him.

Math Time
In case you're curious, here's the odds of him getting a wound with his SA.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
You're going to have to help the chart illiterate here (like me). What's the number on the lefthand side?
And by odds of him getting a wound, do you mean odds of him inflicting a wound on his target or odds of him inflicting a wound on himself? If it's the latter, I'm assuming the lefthand number is the target's defense number. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
Gotcha. Very interesting. It doesn’t account for defensive powers, of course.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
I feel like I can never get behind this guy. His move of four just kills me. Of course my group always sets up the same long narrow map so maybe that has something to do with it.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
Pair him with a teleporter or a carrier. Robot might be a good pal.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Darkseid)
My best pod with Darkseid was when I put him a team with Red Skull, Deathstroke, and Weather Wizard. Keep Darkseid and Red Skull within Weather Wizard's protective bubble and let Deathstroke run around. Figures are forced to charge at Darkseid and Redskull because their ranged attacks get cut down by WW. Move wound markers onto opposing figures with Skull. It was a fun build. I lost in the championship game of our annual Megabowl tournament with them.
