I personally like the first Master set, Rise of the Valkyrie, best. It has more and better terrain, and more and varied characters. I would suggest getting one or two, especially if you can find some of the marked down ones that I keep hearing about. Great trades with Onacara, Gypsy, SirGalahad, elltrain, generalgina, Concord, Just_a_Bill, LongHeroscaper, janus19390, and the very generous obfuscatedhippo. |

Rise of the Valkyrie is probably better, but you should really get both (and two of Swarm of the Marro, if not two of both).

Welcome to the site! Both master sets have their own strong points. Also, please use capitalization and punctuation; it makes your posts a lot easier to read.

Yes, both Master sets have their advantages. However, I think RotV is the more versatile of the two. You have more selection of figure type, more tiles, and the terrain selection is more generic so you can build a broader array of map types aside from just swamp.

Welcome to the forums. I enjoy both masters fairly well, but I probably have slight leanings toward the 1st. It was the foundation that nearly all of us started with.

I recommend RotV, more terrain, more figs.

Well I heard that WotC was taking it over and then it was coming to an end... it's all part of the same prophecy by Nostradamus.
