Hey Florida HeroScapers!
It is time for another HeroScape event in Florida! I want to host one in the Daytona Beach area, but we could have it in Gainesville, Orlando, or Tampa if that is preferred. Please let me know which weekend and location is best for you. Then we can decide maps and additional rules and let the fun begin!

The HeroScape Olympics!

Tournament Format:
-Entry Fee can be either: one HeroScape related prize; other game-related prize; $10; or free but forfeit ability to win a prize
-530 point HeroScape armies (all official figures, including Marvel)
-"Olympic"-themed armies encouraged
-Prizes include $50

Schedule:
Store opens 10am; check-in begins around 10:20am.
Four 50 minute swiss rounds, then 5th round as semifinals:
Round 1: 11am (some leeway for late arrivals)
Round 2: 12pm
Lunch: 1-2pm
Round 3: 2pm
Round 4: 3pm
Round 5/Semi-finals: 4pm (based on 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3)
Finals: 5pm
Award Ceremony/Prizes: 6pm
Free Play until close (Teams, Summoner Wars, whatever)

I don't have any preference at the moment as to the location or date. Have you sent out messages to our regulars? I only happened to see the thread today. I would say sometime in April or May would be fine, though I am open to sometime else

Aside from that, Burny, were you or anyone else at Megacon? I went to the gaming section several times and didn't see anyone

I'M BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!!
Anyways, I'd prefer summer, (not the first week, I'll be gone) or late spring, because I haven't played HS in a long time, and think it would be a good jump start and help train for GenCon (which I'd like to attend). Looking forward to FF 5.5!

Sorry for the lact of updates, but this tournament is still on. First, we need to pick a day -- can anybody make it Saturday, June 23rd or Saturday, June 30th? I would like to have it in Daytona if that is convenient for enough people.

Second, we need to pick maps. Please provide some suggestions; they should be finalized by the end of May.

Third, is everyone OK with the point value? Is 500 points, no limits (including Marvel) what you want to play?

(@randomskyfears -- no, I missed MegaCon this year. They should not have moved it to February.)

That's quite a collection. Some great maps in there. (I do suggest not using my first Flooded Temple--just not enough road or LOS blockers. The other is a bit range/AE-friendly, though I have seen plenty of melee armies take the prize on that map as well.)

Sadly, I won't be able to make it. My wife is out of town that weekend.

Also, just a note that July 5-8 is the Dice Tower Con in Orlando, with our Scape event there on Saturday (July 7). These events may be too close together--or, perhaps, they will work perfectly to give some players a great Summer Scape Rush!

Unfortunately, my wife will be gone from the 22nd to July 1, so I can't make either one. Maybe other people will want to do both--a kind of oasis of Scape in the summer.

To be clear, the date is June 30th -- who can make it?

I have heard from a couple people, but we need more people if we want to have a tournament; otherwise, we can just have a casual game day, or reschedule to a time/place that everyone agrees on. In any case, there will still be a NHSD tournament in October, as well as "Dice Tower Con" early July.
