Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
May I ask what you paid for your 3D printer TREX?
A friend of mine is considering getting one. Can you buy what you have on the open market or was that Kickstarter only? |

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
I bought ine for about 425 dollars on kickstarter that included a 3d printing head module, a cnc head module, and a laser engraving module. I imagine the price is a bit more now. Check out snapmaker.com. It has a smaller work bed area but the detail is pretty solid. You can print miniatures pretty good but I really like the terrain it kicks out. Its a solid machine. I may buy another one when they get a larger print area available.

Cool, thanks.
He just sold his Heroscape collection for five grand and is looking to recreate some of it. |

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
After painting Infinity models for a while and then the Legion Fleet Troopers squad, I wanted a break from painting today. I already had one of the 4x4 inch buildings, all the ladders and barricades assembled from the order I got from Impudent Mortal, so I figured I'd spend the morning assembling the other seven buildings. I even assembled two of the 6 shipping containers, also from Impudent Mortal.
The shipping containers are part of their Rust line of near future/post apocalyptic stuff. These kits are MDF, and have adhesive transfers that you apply over the MDF. There are a few more steps during the assembly, in order to apply the transfers at key steps, but when you are done, they don't require painting and only need a couple coats of matte varnish to protect them. There are 2 of each, yellow, red and blue. The buildings were pretty easy to assemble. That said, the roofs fit on pretty snugly, so before painting them, I will need to sand the outside or the top of the walls and the inside of the roof connection. That way the connections will be looser to account for the paint and varnish, and not mess up the paint up there. The other areas of the buildings that I'm going to have to sand, is the inner sides of the roof walls and around the outside bottom of the builds. The buildings are meant to be very modular and stack in many configurations, but as they are now, they are too tight to stack. Shouldn't be a big deal to do, and it will really add to the utility of the buildings. They are designed for Infinity scale of 28mm, but will be fine for Legion and other systems, as well as Infinity. With all 8 buildings put out as single story units, they do cover a nice bit of table, and on a 4x4 or 3x3 setup, they will add a lot of cover options. Yeah, they are pretty neat. $20 for 6. I finished a blue one this morning before leaving for work.
I'll have to take pictures of the components pre-assembly to show how they come. There are actually 24 components for each container, 10 of which are the preprinted adhesive pieces. |

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
These are from Impudent Mortal and from their Rust line of products. This line of there's doesn't require painting because of the use of adhesive stickers. They have a lot of other products, such as the mdf buildings I have in the picture above.
Here's the link to the Rust line, and the shipping containers are on this page. https://www.impudentmortal.com/produ...-terrain/rust/ Here's a link to the building instructions for the shipping containers. Impudent Mortal, like Warsenal, have their build instructions provided on their site. http://www.impudentmortal.com/wp-con...ons.pdf?x70006 Some more 28mm terrain from Impudent Mortal https://www.impudentmortal.com/produ.../28mm-terrain/ Hand of fate is moving and the finger points to you ...Iron Maiden - The Wicker Man TUTORIAL FOR RE-BASING FIGURES 3hrs 43mins 32secs = 1242nd of 8808 overall - 1988 Honolulu Marathon |

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
That stuff looks awesome. I found some cool stuff for legion on thingiverse. I found some sweet looking star wars type crates, moisture vaporators, and a bunch of cool sci fi terrain. I think I need to print some some of those grated catwalks. Those look amazing.

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Yeah, stuff like that would be awesome. I printed out 4 cool portals, a couple dozen crystals and a bunch of heroscape rock out crops. I can have as many glaciers as I want now. They look so cool too. The guys that did them up made them more crisp looking than the originals. All the crystals are mounted on Rttff tree bases so they can lock into the tiles or just sit on my gridless battlefield. Printed out a bunch of cool stuff for Imperial assault and frostgrave and the like. I found some awesome catwalks for 15mm terrain that could easily be scaled up and made in sections on my printer. Its very cool. I made a whole print bed full of those jersey barriers as well and they turned out great. Its really a shame that the admin of that walking dead group doesn't appreciate posting about cool 3d printed stuff. He completely attacked me for sharing it on there and said it wasn't worthy because it had print lines. I think its great, and don't mind seeing any kind of fun stuff whether its hand crafted, 3d printed, store bought, or casted in a mold. Its all fun. I left that group because I did not like the admin's attitude about that stuff and didn't feel like being ripped into because I discovered a fun new way to make toys for myself.

Yeah, that admin was being a tool. I thought your Jersey Barriers were great and looked just like the ones I got from Miniature Market.
