Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
BINGE WATCHING HBO MAX
After discovering that DC Universe is now going comic only, and that all of their movies and TV have transferred over to HBO Max, I've now signed up with this, only my second ever streaming service. 1. The first two seasons of DC Titans (live action Teen Titans) recommended by my dentist of all people. A bit dark and violent for me, but fun. Hour episodes, with Ian Glen (Sir Jorah Mormont from Game of Thrones) as parental presence Bruce Wayne. 2. The old Young Justice series. Three seasons of half hour animated episodes. It was so hard to follow the seasons on broadcast way back when! On this dark and lonely Pandemic December, $15 a month gets me this and much more, including now new movies like Wonder Woman 2 when it comes out on Christmas Day. The entertainment options available to us continue to change fast! Last edited by chas; December 13th, 2020 at 01:59 AM. |

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
I'll be checking out the Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and other stuff soon. I recently got access to HBO Max myself but haven't done a deep dive to see what all is on there yet.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Lotta good stuff on there. Love the superhero stuff, but also shows like Succession.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Yes, I'm looking at series like Westworld, and older ones I never saw like Curb Your Enthusiasm and even The Sopranos! Also films like Deadwood The Movie (I have the series on DVD; TV production was stopped before the final season they wanted to make originally, so this flick covers that territory supposedly).
HBO always a big share of the best quality stuff on TV in general, and since I never had any pay TV cable channels, I bought several of their series on DVD back in the old days. Now many other movies are going to premiere both in theaters and on this streaming service simultaneously! Since you can't see everything that is available until you sign up, I highly recommend it. Right now there is a six month 20% discount deal on for the next month or so; but I wanted to check it out initially first. |

Sopranos holds up IMO.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
One of my favorite shows is Barry on HBO. It's a dark comedy/drama, starring Bill Hader as a depressed hitman trying to leave his past behind. The writing and characters are fantastic; two seasons out so far and I believe a third is on its way.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Anybody else hear all the news of the many star wars spin off series that will end up on disney plus? Part of me is thinking oh hell yeah, but the other part of me is thinking, oh disney, dont bite off more than you can chew and give us a metric ton of garbage to ingest. I suppose if its similar to the mandalorian and rogue one it will be a nice addition to watch to get my disney plus supscriptions worth. Right now I only watch disney plus for Mandalorian. This whole season has been pretty epic so far. I love them bringing back old characters and giving animated characters a live counterpart.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
Like 9 years after Return of the Jedi, I think? Between 6 and 7. The Empire is still barely hanging on by a thread, but the New Republic is in charge.

I finished The Mandalorian. Loved it. Is there nothing that Jon Favreau cannot do? He acts, he writes, he directs, he’s even pretty much a chef.

Re: TV: What Are You Watching?
They finally did make the Deadwood movie!!! How did I never hear about if being released? I'll check that one out first. They've been talking about making it since the series was canceled for no reason.
I thought the Mandalorean was suppose to be 10 years after RotJ, but I recently learned it's actually just 5 years after. That helps somewhat with last weeks surprise guest appearance, but then it's getting harder and harder to understand how he could not know what a Jedi or the Force is. Is this week's episode the season final then? I thought it would be a two part 'too be continued' final like in season 1 for a total of 8 episodes for the season once again. *edit* Just watched today's episode, there is still at least one more to go for season 2.
