Old TV show... anyone remember ???

There used to be an old TV show about a secret agent who had a gun [ a revolver I believe ] that would fire backwards if you didn't hit a certain switch thing. I think the guy was blonde. Anyone remember the shows name ???

How old was this show?

The Russian agent, Illya Kuryakin, in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." was blond.
The U.N.C.L.E. gun was a very versatile weapon that might have had that feature.

It was I believe 70's or early 80's. Wasn't the UNCLE guy. Think he was ainly on his own. I think the gun was stainless. I remember some gunsmith built a real world version of it to see if it would work.

I believe you are referring to Matt Helm. I think he was blonde on TV, but had dark hair in the movies. Check out this link:

I'm pretty sure it was on tv as I remember saying to myself I like the show but how many different ways can you get a bad guy to shoot you with your own gun.

There were movies and then there was a short-lived TV series. That is probably what you are remembering. In any event, you're going to have a hard time finding the TV series since most fans hate the movie and TV adaptations. Apparently this was a book that the studios took great liberties with and alienated the books' fan base.
